We weren't far behind. My kid must get up with the sun, even when it's raining and there is no sun to be found.
My mission to cut back on caffeine is not going well.

I've had almost an entire 1 liter French press this morning, and I'm only just now starting to feel human. It's 6:40.

budders littleliverpill Sorry for the early wake up! Today was a good day for us. No school or activities for DS on Tuesdays, so he tends to get a little wound up after being stuck with me inside all day (bedrest woes). DH is taking him swimming in a bit, so fingers crossed that will get some energy out before bed! The pool in our building is nice and warm, which is great for swimming, but it also means DS never wants to get out. He's a little fish!

DD woke up at 4:15 am and announced, "I'm up!" No, child. Thankfully she went back to sleep.

Morning all!! Well I have had an interesting weekend. Friday I forgot all of the pacifiers I had left at daycare. Cue panic when 8:00 rolls around and it's time for bed. I searched everywhere for one frantically and I explained to DS (22 months) that I messed up and forgot them and there were none here at home and we can't afford to buy him any more. I also reminded him that he will be two very soon and the new teacher won't allow him to use them in his new class. I was expecting a full scale meltdown, but LO went to bed without a fuss, and did so for the past 4 nights. I am proud of him and feeling very blessed right now that this thing I've been dreading was not even really a thing.

Up at a little before 7 with DS2. I'm not a morning person at all. This kid needs to learn to sleep. DS1 takes after me and it still sleeping hard, it's 8:30.

The baby was stirring at 455, before my alarm. I don't get it. She can sleep later on the weekends. I wasn't even up yet making noise!
Meanwhile DS is turning dinnertime into a battle. He's always been a great eater but now he's refusing things I know he likes, throwing food on the ground. Ughhh.

Morning! DS woke up only slightly later than normal even though he didn't go to bed until almost 10. At least he and DH had fun at the baseball game last night and he fell asleep almost immediately after we got him settled into bed.
It's rainy and gross outside and I don't think we have much of anything planned. Since we're all home, it might just be a good day to be lazy.

We were up at 5:15. H is still out of town, so DS wound up in bed with me. He started moving around, so I tried to quietly grab my phone to turn off my alarm (goes off at 5:30), but naturally then he was up. So by the time MIL came over, he'd already watched too much TV and was a whiny mess. I'm hoping he takes a good nap for her later. Thank goodness H comes home tomorrow, and for the fact I had a free reward coffee from Starbucks!

ilovelamp yay, I'm glad he did so well! DS sucks on his fingers and we're trying to gently discourage that. He also has a lovie that he needs.

silvermelody yeah it is hard when you can't just take that away, he has to break the habit himself. I was a thumb sucker and I always thought DS would be as well. He also has a lovey (muslin blanket) that he uses for comfort. They let them have blankets for nap so I am totally cool with him having that thing until kindergarten if he wants!

He's been like this a while and I've gotten to a point where if he doesn't eat, then oh well. MH will sometimes make DS something else (which drives me nuts), and he often won't eat that either. Toddlers suck sometimes.

I've already had a very productive morning both at home and at work. I'm seeing a former colleague/ still good friend this afternoon at work for work related stuff and I'm really looking forward to it. We chat often, but I miss working with her and seeing her everyday.

I'm going to need your son to come over and give K a pep talk when it's time to get rid of the binkie. She is beyond attached to them.

Everyone up at 5:30 here, which is pretty typical. I had a million meetings yesterday, but today only two, so I'm looking forward to that.
We listened to a beatboxer in the car Saturday, so now both boys are eating breakfast and practicing their beatboxing.

Morning! Yeah, up at 5:30 is avg over here too. Today I woke up at 4 am and considered just staying awake maybe making it to work on time. But I didn't.
LOL. The guy on the other side of my cube never says hi or bye to me. His team moved in a couple months ago. I made an effort to say good morning at least. And he responds but never initiates. Last week I refused to acknowledge him. And this week I started to say good morning again. Because it drives me crazy to ignore someone who is right next to me!! And I lol'd just now because his coworker on his other side just announced to the whole team how he left last night without even saying goodbye to her or the other person working late. She's a manager and quite loud so ppl were laughing. But I'm sure she was serious.

And we started our casual dress code this month! So I got jeans on. It's my only pair. Need to do some shopping.

I start every day at 4:30am. I'm not even remotely a morning person so it's beyond brutal to wake up that early. But I get off work at 2:30 and I'm home just after 3, which I really enjoy.

I can't decide if I like that schedule or not. Too early! But what I was thinking this morning was how I can't believe I get up at 5:30 and yet don't get to work until 8:30! My morning is long before I even begin work.

My morning is long before I even begin work. It's earlier than I prefer. I was doing 6:30-3 and liked that a lot better, but they switched my hours when I came back from maternity leave. My favorite shift is 7-3:30, but I live 20+ miles from work, so I end up hitting a lot of traffic with those hours.

That might be the one thing I miss about working days! I don't miss having to wake up at the asscrack of dawn though--5:30 pre-kid and then 5 when I did it when DS was a baby.

It sucks getting up that early, but I honestly don't think I could go back to a typical 8-5 type schedule. I really, really hate traffic and I love getting home early enough to not have to rush through dinner time. I'm constantly exhausted, but MH is a beautiful man who lets me sleep in on the weekends.

Check up done and no blood draw! Yay! Iron is up to middle of the normal range and we don't have to do the prescription (or any) drops anymore!!! Yay! They will check her again at 18 months (idk if that is normal or not) so hopefully we are done with that chapter! Also somehow the stethoscope is worse than getting 3 shots. Lol

You people with the early risers make me feel #blessed that my kid sleeps until at least 7.
She is making up for it by being a clingy mess though. So much whining today and flipping out if I move 3 feet away. God damn bottom fangs are coming in and she's never been a happy tether. I have my nanny kid today too.
However she did put on her shoes this morning on the correct feet all by herself, proving that she's really not a baby anymore, is she?

I work 8-5 M-T and 8-2:30 on F. I have to be out the door by 6:45 to get kids in the car to drive to daycare and then drive the complete opposite direction to work to get there in time.
Starting Monday H is switching to their daycare and so he will be taking them and bring them home. It will save on gas for sure but that means I have his truck and he has my car. And I now will be still getting the kids ready but then I get ready after they all leave since my work is only 15 minutes away. The only day I will go get them is Friday since I'm done way before he will be.
So, in some ways it will be nice since we can both sleep in a little bit and the kids will still get up at same time. I will miss the time in the car with them but not the hassle of the traffic and the time saved on gas.
Also this means I will be back to cooking most meals.
