Hey Guess What!?! Finally, AN UPDATE!

So, I feel like I have been super dramatic here at the end of my pregnancy and now I am adding to it...

Turns out I am in fact getting induced TODAY.

I did not feel good or right last night and I came into L&D. Baby girl was being super inactive and she was worrying me. I was here all night with a headache and elevated pressures. They actually almost sent me home after about 2 hours but I questioned it and they agreed to monitor my blood pressure for a little while longer. I am so thankful that I did that because it has conti ued to creep up and has stayed there. Baby looks great on the monitor which is awesome.

They started me on a magnesium drip. Which is apparently supposed to make you feel terrible, but its also a protective measure against seizures. So obviously it is important. As soon as they started it I got instantly hot, and for some reason felt like I was peeing my pants... not that I am wearing pants, because they stole those hours ago. It was such a weird feeling!! I was not in fact peeing myself though, thank goodness. Lol.

I have been here by myself for quite some time.... DH went to work last night because we weren't sure what was going to happen and we really needed to save his vacation time just in case today wasn't the day. Even though nothing is really happening right now I am anxious for him to get here. Plus the nurses at the hospital are probably wondering why this crazy lady has no friends or family, lol.

I am relatively chill at this point. Just kind of going with the flow.

I got a dose of cytotec vaginally a couple of hours ago. I don't know when they will recheck my cervix.

I cant help but think back to having to use cytotec to miscarry at home and how that took 8 hours and two doses for anything to happen....

I don't know how "ripe" my cervix has to be for them to start other interventions. Foley bulb and pitocin have been mentioned, so we shall see!

Wow! I'm so glad you went in and listened to how your body was feeling. I've heard the same thing about the magnesium but glad it hasn't been too bad so far. I hope your induction goes smoothly. Ahh! You're going to be holding your baby girl soon!

IIRC they monitored me for a couple of hours after they inserted the cytotec and since I was having mild contractions already from that, they just let me be. IDK how long they would let you go, since they are inducing for the BP but hopefully its relatively easy from here on out.

I hope the mag drip doesn't snow you too badly, but yes to it being super important! And I hope that your body rolls right along and super easily with the induction process with minimal interventions. It sounds like they're taking great care of you and you're exactly where you need to be.
