flamingo I quit nursing cold turkey all 3 times. When it got painful I pumped just enough to take the pain away maybe once or twice and that was it. My milk stops coming after that. Obviously not all our bodies are the same but thatās what I did. āŗļø

tallb, I get that your neighbor is trying to be friendly, but it seems like a lot. I think you did the right thing by offering something small and at a later date. I pretty much feel the same way about playdated. Unless it's on s weekend I think it's challenging to cart Charlie over to someone else's house for the older kids to play, and I think it's equally challenging bring someone here for the same reasons. Selfishly, I also don't like to plan play dates on the weekends because it's the only time the four of us are together for good extended periods of time.

Well that was a cheesy movie. It was my least favorite book, so I'm not surprised.

sands42 good luck with algebra this semester. Will you still look for a house while yh is give or wait until he returns to stay the search again? tallb seems like your neighbors are a bit overzealous. Are they new? I might be outgoing like that if I didn't know anyone. Of course I might also do that if I was hopeful the other family might babysit too.

tallb, that's tricky since you have nothing else in common and they live in your building, so it's a slippery slope. We have friends in our neighborhood, there are 4 families of us and all of us have a 4 year old and then 3 families have younger kids too. It started out where we'd see them out for walks and stop to play a bit. Then we'd schedule meet ups- a water balloon fight at our house, bonfire at a house, ect. Now we get together fairly often at each others houses. It's the best! We like the parents and the kids can play, giving us a break. Since they're so close I'll just leave with L if she needs to sleep and MH and C will stay and hang out. All that to say, I don't think it's weird but if you don't think you'll like hanging with the parents then I think it's good to tread lightly cause it could get awkward.

Hi!
Just saw The Post...really well-done. Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep are so impressive.
We actually went to the movie theater on base and holy prices, Batman. Two tickets, popcorn and 2 soft drinksā$15. Total. I asked my H if we were in a time warp, hello 1990?

First off, this sounds awesome! And kind of like my sister's old neighborhood. It is awkward since they know which apt is ours and can see lights on from the parking lot. I could see myself hanging out with the mom, but I'm not sure j would even play well with the girl, they haven't hit it off. And they aren't new, they have lived here for over 4 years too! I may be judging too, the dad smokes out back and it sometimes comes in our window in the summer, so he grates us a bit. We do have a few families that are buddies with other families, so I think they are trying to emulate that. But who calls and leaves voicemails?! Lol, text only please. I loathe talking on the phone.

Oof, yeah in the sorority we would have said āover-eagerā tallb. I think if you feel obligated to ārespondā Iād give them a quick text next weekend like, an hour before youāre planning to go to the park, if they want to join yāall there. Maybe. Or a half hour...or less. Idk, that might encourage them tho.

Lol, yeah our group only texts! I hate talking on the phone. You definitely don't want to get into an awkward situation with them so close. Our group is great and if one of us declines an invite just to relax at home or whatever, it's no big deal. We like the parents and hang out kid free too, so that helps! It does bring some tricky situations though. Like one of the families I talked about the other day. Their son has a whole play chest just for his play weapons... Another family doesn't really watch their kid and is like, "Just let the kids figure it out themselves! They're fine!" As their kid is about to run over little L with his powerwheels Jeep. But for the most part, it's great!

cagoldi I just have to thank you again, because Iāve literally used the ring Ali g every single day since we got home from the hospital. Charlotte loves it and passes our immediately. I think it might be the most used baby gist Iāve ever received, beside the boppy for nursing!!!

DH's birthday dinner went great. He was surprised-ish and our small group was enough that he knew we put some thought into it but small enough for it not to be too much, even to him. But I'm so full and after over a week of not running, I feel so squishy. Ick. Please let the boys STTN!!

So nursing/weaning-related question: C nursed for what I think was the last time two mornings ago, so well over 48 Ā hours. I haven't had a let-down and have only expressed milk a bit in the shower. I'm not to the point of major pain or anything but it's a bit uncomfortable, particularly on one side. I could pump, but will that encourage production? Is there anything else I need to be doing to help this process along? eta: I really can't remember from when B was a baby...I feel like my process was similar but I had less milk at that time than I do now so it just kind of...went away?Ā I remember wearing a too tight sports bra for a few days. Never weaned but since I EFF this is what I do after my milk comes in. I would assume this would be the same?

The shower was fun. It was nice to see my brother. I'm wiped out. It's been a long day. I don't know why sitting in a car for hours feels so exhausting.

Oh my. I just spent 200 bucks on new clothes for the kids... I cleaned out their drawers last week and saw that a lot of stuff were old or/and to small. I did get a lot though, 9 t-shirts, 4 pairs of pants, 3 onesies, two vests and a coat, thatās not too bad right?

yummeecookee what do you think of the shape tape foundation? So far, so good. Itās not really the miracle worker I thought it would be (maybe my foundation expectations are too high?). But it blends really well and has good staying power.

I think the worst of my cough is gone! No fits last night, though I still have that really congested, junky feeling in my chest. I may try to run a few miles on the treadmill tomorrow but we'll see.
Everyone here actually seems to be on the mend. Chase is all smiles and his eyes are sparkling again. I may actually get to go back to the office!!
