Eh, I could see that with Will. His privacy is so important to him that I could see that protocol as a way of maintaining the line between staff and his family. Keeping up tradition, like, a way to keep them at arms' length. Making sure they don't feel too chummy and get too close. Not saying it's good or bad. She is very deferential to royal protocol and seems to fall in line, so she'd go along with it. Obviously one of us needs to abandon our children and SO to join the household staff and report back, NDA be damned. I don't think I've said in this thread, but one of my friends is moving to London for a dew years for her H's job, and she is determined to be the Queen's corgi handler. Will report back if this happens.

I'm really late but re: has Harry changed, he alluded to getting a lot of therapy due to his anger and grief issues when they initially released the Heads Up campaign for mental health awareness. He mentioned really regretting his past behaviour and feeling like he couldn't have changed without Kate and Will having a CTJ with him about getting counselling. I am not writing off any of his past actions but I am willing to give a person the opportunity to change, and I do believe unresolved, festering grief can lead to some pretty ugly behaviours. I'm glad he's chosen to get help and his passion for mental health is really endearing to me.

Why do people do that? I'm glad they caught the person who threatened Prince George.

Omg that's just sick. I don't blame Will one bit for being extra about his/his family's privacy when there's lunatics like this in the world.

Kate in new Jenny Packham visiting the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. It was announced that this would be a new patronage for her. She continues to focus on maternal mental health. And I thought this was cool.

Lifetime is making a movie about Megan and Harry. They released the casting for all four of them, and the only one that really seems to fit is the actress that plays Megan. Lifetime movies about famous people have proven to be a disaster up to this point, so this should be...interesting lol

I love that outfit on Kate! The color is perfect and it looks great with her bump. She really looks like she’s feeling much better this time around.
And can you imagine helping to deliver the future king of England?! Talk about pressure.

And can you imagine helping to deliver the future king of England?! Talk about pressure. There is an interesting historical footnote about this, but I'm going to TW it, please be forewarned. I was recently reading about Princess Charlotte of Wales, who was an immensely popular figure of her time in Great Britain (b. 1796).
She would eventually have been queen, had she outlived her father and grandfather, but died at 21 after giving birth to a stillborn son, who would have been the heir. There was some debate over whether they attendants should've used forceps to relieve the protracted labor, which lasted at least 48 hours. She was weakened because she wasn't allowed to eat during that time and hemorrhaged. Of course, this was pre-sterilization of medical instruments, so she might have just contracted a deadly infection had they used forceps, too.
England was mad with grief. A lot of people blamed the accoucheur (basically a male midwife or OB). He killed himself several months later, while attending another patient! It became known as the "triple obstetric tragedy" (mother, child, attendant).
She was George III's only (legit) grandchild. There was a mad dash for the rest of the royal family to marry and have legitimate children. (Apparently their fertility was not in question, because there were some illegitimate children already.) Her uncle eventually sired the next heir -- Victoria.

Had all that not happened, the royal family could be very different today. I think Queen Victoria was the current queen's Great-great-Grandmother?
Also, the Internet helpfully reminded me today that both Elizabeth and Phillip are descended from Victoria. Awkward.

I know Kate gets bashed some (not here) for not being super active as a Royal, fewer appearances, etc. Her continued focus on maternal mental health makes me wonder if this was something she struggled with during prior pregnancies. I can definitely see anyone living her life struggling some with depression and/or anxiety, but add in the HEG issue? I’m sure she has access to great resources and it seems she has a really supportive family so I hope she’s ok. And even if it wasn’t something that personally affected her, I’m very happy to see her lending her patronage to this cause.

Here are some pictures from the joint engagement. It’s a lot of videos so I’m trying to figure out how to bring this to you without making you watch an hour long video. Meghan is in Jason Wu and Kate is in Seraphine. I believe Kate also has another engagement solo tonight.

Apparently Kate is the one who came up with the whole Heads Together campaign that has been such a success. She is really passionate about mental health. I did not know this.

I really like Meghan's Jason Wu dress! I think it's really chic, and I like the shoes she paired with it.

Taitai I agree I think Meghan looks fantastic. I don't think the purple dress is as flattering as some of Kate's recent looks but she also looks nice.

I think the dress Meghan is wearing is super frumpy.
It looks like a silky trench coat from the 80s.

I really like Kate's dress. I think Meghan's looks too big, but I guess that could just be the style of the dress as well.
