Well that stinks tgrimes. Although I was somewhat happy to hear H got sick too so it isn't just M's GI stuff. Silver lining... It’s cool. I thought the same thing when I walked in H’s room. lol.

Morning. I missed the weekend thread, so I need to go back and catch up. My sister, grandma, and mom's birthdays are the 3rd, 4th, and 5th...so lots of birthday calls and I took my sister out to brunch, which was lovely. There was some major drama around my Dad and I kind of got unwittingly roped in, so that was a bit rough and wore me down. Luckily, it was a busy weekend, so I stayed distracted and tried not to get too involved. My son's principal called at 5:45 on Friday night. You can imagine my confusion at seeing the schools number pop up at that time, like "what in the world?". She was calling to ask me to come in and consult on some artwork for the school's newly redesigned Learning Resource Center. So, first all "phew" that it wasn't something about my kid, and also it was nice to be considered for the project. guster I missed the moving news, but congrats! flamingo is wise and I agree with everything she said. I make color coded labels for each room too, and put up a sign with the same color on the doors of the rooms at the new house. This was helpful for multiple bedroom/bathrooms and large loose items. Sunny41 Congrats on the new family member!

jewels I didn’t watch it either. MH and I watch it together, otherwise I’d be watching it now. lahdeedah FWIW I’ve never cried while watching this show. It’s so good though so I think you should watch it.

S officially started in the PreK room today. He is so excited and has been telling everyone that he's ready for the "big kids' room" (grandparents, cashier at Target...).
The new teacher sent home a list of stuff for class (they ask us to provide some basic school supplies - she said she uses it to teach the kids how to take care of their stuff and they all really get a kick out of it), so we went shopping and he was so excited to pick out his stuff. The only thing we didn't get was 3 pencil cases, b/c they had almost none. I saw some Star Wars ones on Amazon so I will buy those for my Star Wars obsessed kid.

tgrimes - I wish I could get MH to watch it. The only shows he'll watch with me are Law and Order, the Middle, and anything on the Food Network/HGTV. And I am a total TV junkie so I watch a lot alone I rarely cry, but occasionally it does get me. My co-workers all say that I am dead inside since it doesn't usually make me cry. But I agree with you... tears or no, it's an amazing show.

Hi everyone. Sitting here and surprisingly not feeling super tired out. We were at my dads last night for the SB and got home pretty late. I mostly feel bad for the kiddos. They were bright eyed and bushy tailed this AM but I feel like it will catch up w them as the day goes on. I’m also doing a test drive of shape tape foundation today. Yes! I've been waiting for this! Are you trying matte, moisturizing, or both? I got lots of compliments on my complexion last night so my Born This Way and highlighter combination must be working or the other moms at the party were way to eager to tell me I look great so I don't feel like a hideous pregnant wildebeest. So far so good! Granted I’m only 5hrs in, lol. But I don’t see any oxidization or patchiness etc. I was expecting it to be a little heavier since the ST concealer is so thick. I’m happy w how bendable it was. I also love that it comes w the applicator stick so I didn’t have to get any on my hands. Oh and I’m using the hydrating one. Glad you are liking BTW!

cagoldi Dear fellow pregnant wildebeest, first of all you are gorgeous, and secondly you crack me up and I love you...with or without miracle makeup. Signed, another member of the herd. Also, fill me in on this makeup....

So far MH has stayed up later than me and got way far ahead of me on two shows. He did not understand why I was mad. 🙄

Also, fill me in on this makeup.... I still love Tarte but I'm on a Too Faced kick lately. I've been wearing Born This Way Foundation, their Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, and Love Light highlighter. I haven't used any of their eye shadows in awhile but I remember liking them. melaniesue recently sent me an eyeshadow palette from PUR that's really pretty and super easy to blend. She's sending me a highlighter/bronzer palette soon so I can review that once I use it. ETA: I'm currently in love with Pacifica concealer and NYX dark circle corrector.

When I dropped M off at school this morning, there were only like 4-5 students there. There are 15 in his class. The email she sent last week said a lot of the kids were out sick that week, but I didn't realize how many. That is a lot.
My MIL said a few schools in their county closed because of the flu going around. That is pretty bad when a school has to shut down to stop the spread of illness. This cold and flu season can't be over soon enough.

I really did but the acting is pretty bad (except Sterling) and the storyline was not very interesting after the first episode. I found myself yelling "Come on!" at the tv a lot. DH liked it. I do have a black heart though.

So I didn't tell you guys about the minor drama at the party last night.
This might be long.
It was at the home of one of Pete's longtime friends. Everyone there has kids older than us, so we look like helicopter parents as we wrangle our newly mobile toddler and everyone else drinks their face off in the backyard. Okay, mostly NBD but everyone was way too free range with their kids, if you ask me.
They had a bounce house set up out front so that's nice and fun. The younger kids can't go on safely if the bigger kids are using, but whatever, it's for everyone so I'll just keep my hell beasts entertained some other way. NBD.
However, the oldest kids (9), were expected to watch the younger ones/their siblings. Well, you can guess how well three year old boys listen to nine year old girls. So there is this three year old out there riding a Power Wheel in the street, he hits a truck, and nearly gets run over by a car twice. He probably would have unless Pete was out there to run out and tell the kid to stop and get the car's attention.
This is wearing on me because, hello, can SOMEONE please come out and check on your spawn once in awhile? I've got my hands full, I don't need to be policing your kids.
Finally, the night goes on and at a certain point just Xander and the three year old boy, and Atticus are the only ones on the bounce house because the older kids are playing something else. I hear one of the 9 year-olds say she is going to "get rid of the babies" so she comes into the bounce house and starts jumping right next to X and screaming "get out, get out, GET OUT!" This scared X to death and he got his finger stepped on so he starts wailing. Atticus tried unsuccessfully to pull him out and I have to haul my pregnant ass into the bounce house to retrieve them. I told her she was acting like a bully and I will discuss it with her mom. Then we left abruptly because I was done with unsupervised maniacs acting like jerks. That's not fun for anyone.
So we left with Atticus feeling a little hurt and I ultimately decided not to talk to the mom. I like her and she has two special needs twins she was taking care of and really, she needed an easy night. I didn't want her nine year-old to ruin the party for her.

At one point X got whacked in the eye on accident with a toy plastic arrow and Atticus went into beast mode.
It's funny because he's pretty indifferent about X in general but I always knew if someone was mean or rough with him he would not have it all.
He chased the boys responsible, cornered them, and said, "you are way too wild! We DO NOT hit people in the face. You look out for babies!"
Then he marched back over to me, puffed out his chest, and announced he took care of it.

I cried at super bowl commercials last night and have cried watching parks and rec, but This Is Us just doesn't do it.

Well, they want to do some biopsies. I go back next Friday for that. There were some calcifications that looked different and then she wants to biopsy the lump, along with another very small one they found. I’m not worried, I’m sure it will be fine.

cagoldi Ugh, kids can be such jerks. I agree, it stinks when you are the only one who is watching the kids, or you feel like you have to do it b/c no one else is. Glad your 2 survived the night with only minor injuries ;P trtlcrzy Yikes! Also glad you had it looked into; hopefully all will come back clear. tgrimes So sorry to hear the plague has descended. Hope the kids are feeling better asap.

cagoldi, that's so annoying. I hate when people don't watch their kids at parties. My sister and BIL are like this, somehow MH and I always end up watching their 2 year old. She's super sweet and I love being with her, but it's frustrating. On Christmas I had L asleep and C settled in to watch a video in bed and my niece kept running in there turning lights on and jumping. I was getting so annoyed, my sister was oblivious and my BIL just didn't care.

I just posted the great american novel in the group. I just had to get some thoughts out. I feel like I should give a prize to anyone who actually reads it...
And on a happy note, I have a friend who has been going through IVF for about 3 years. She is my age (mid 40s) and didn't meet her H till she was late 30s. She was terrified it wouldn't happen... well she's 9 weeks pregnant!!! I'm so excited for her!!!

Atticus asked me to paint his nails over the weekend. I said I would do one finger each hand, because I was sure he couldn't sit still long enough for an entire hand to dry.
He said he wanted me to do Tallman (his middle finger).
I did and thought nothing of it but his teacher reports he's flipping everyone off to show them his red nail so I guess we need to pick a different finger next time.

trtlcrzy, I'm sorry it wasn't clear. I hope its nothing. cagoldi, that was nice of you not to talk to the mom but so frustrating! We often find ourselves parenting my BIL's kids and it's annoying. When they are around they are up the kids butts but inevitably they disappear or SIL leaves BIL in charge and he can't be bothered so we end up watching C and his two cousins. C is a 2:1 ratio kid people!
