My kid is being the worst tonight. THE WORST. hitting, biting, throwing, kicking, and not responding to any forms of intervention. Wtf child. He turned 3 yesterday and I knew this was coming but holy hell.
I will be drinking beers tonight. Plural.

Aww, poor pup. Don't beat yourself up, though. Some dogs are so stoic that it takes a lot to even realize something is off my Pitbull Kara is the same way, she will run around and play and act normal even if she's hurting and it's hard to tell unless you notice a little limp. She hurt her leg once and was still leaping off couches and running down stairs. My Beagle, on the other hand, is a huge drama queen and cries at the tiniest injury. Dogs are so funny. My first dog would freak out if you acted like something might be wrong with her. She had some neck problems (fixed by a doggy chiropractor) and when she would have an issue if you tried to baby her or you showed any worry she would immediately get 10 times worse. If you acted like she was fine and told her she was ok she would do so much better

Speaking of dogs, we've resorted to puppy pads for duet because I'm tired of cleaning up pee and maybe we can edge her to the back door. But standard puppy pads just aren't big enough for one pee for her. Do extra large ones exist? I didn't do any research and just bought the Amazon basics ones.

The white laminate from the 80's just isn't going to cut it. But I'm still excited to enjoy them over the next 9-12 months! ETA: and because it's a short term upgrade for us, hubs said he didn't care what I picked. So no stress over just making a decision without his input!

XL Adult incontinence bed pads or XL size puppy pads would be the best options.

I have 13 people coming to my house for the weekend. All family. About half of them are staying in a hotel. I'm mostly super excited for this mini reunion and also anxious about having that many people here. I get all nervous about my house not being clean enough.

milano, my mother always says if they're there to judge how clean your house is, give them something to talk about.

An incredibly concerned someone is very clearly scoping out my two sleeping kids in the backseat of my car in a hot parking lot... While I'm sitting in the front seat, with the car running and air conditioning on. Wtf? She spent a fair amount of time angling her body to look into my car and now she's just sitting in her car for several minutes looking over her shoulder into my car. Like, are you calling the police on me or something? I repeat myself, wtf? Super weird! There is definitely a line beyond which you are no longer a concerned citizen being helpful.

Sage's lullaby albums are suddenly unavailable on Prime. I told A that we would need to buy them. His response was, ""that's too bad. No."
Eff you dickhead. Sometimes I need something so I don't have a ball of sweat laying on me to go to sleep.

Super weird! There is definitely a line beyond which you are no longer a concerned citizen being helpful. She apparently decided that I look nonthreatening (or maybe comfortable in my long sleeve shirt) enough that she went inside the store, but she definitely turned around one last time to give my car the stink eye. Soooo bizarre.

What a slow week in here. Perhaps because everything that has the chance of turning in to an interesting thread ends up dumped in Randoms?

My house is the biggest disaster ever after having guests visit for a week and then DH home all weekend. I'm trying to tackle one room at a time but I keep getting sidetracked because I'm literally starting with the hallway.

There's a big ol' thunderstorm warning for today, so I planned accordingly and have been staying close to home/staying indoors. But except for some MOTN rain and the barest of sprinkles around 10 (when we were actually daring to be outside), there's been nothing. This is outside now: (Ignore the toddler sized finger smudges). We could have spent this day out at the playground/taking walks/having picnics and it would have been so much better.

mapleme, we have a Flash FLood Warning this afternoon/evening, but the skies have been clear all day here, as well.

I had a mom of the year moment today.
Me: "Yes! The baby is finally asleep in her crib." My brain: "Now I can finally go pick up the dry cleaning!"
Note that I'm a SAHM with no babysitter.
I'm like, really? Really brain?! Really?!?
I can't believe that thought would ever cross my mind. I'm starting to question my sanity (and the strength of my morning coffee.) And no, I did not leave her home alone while I picked up the dry cleaning.

Last day of school! Bonus- my husband has school until Friday, so it's just me and the kids the next few days. I'm planning some naked potty training for my daughter since he won't be around to freak out about accidents.

You didn't actually leave her, you just had a brain fart! We have all been there. We are all tired for the first 5 or 6 years of the kids' lives (depending on the kid of course).

It makes me feel a little better. She ended up napping for a 3 solid hours. That was cool.

Also, I live within walking distance of lots of things and have actually contempleted going out while the kids nap. I haven't done it, but more like fantasized - I've timed it, and I can run to CVS in under five minutes round trip. Three if I'm literally running.

I'm feeling a little overwhelmed here, guys. I applied to a job on Friday, got an email to set up an interview on Saturday, talked today, and have an in-person interview next week. I am so, so, so excited about this opportunity. It'll let me do what I actively enjoy and work more closely with people. And have a little more independence. I obviously still have to get an offer, but I think it's coming. I really do. After such an awful week last week, I'm all for this.
ETA: My industry doesn't move this fast. Ever. I interviewed for a job 2 months ago, and they still haven't hired for that position.
