guster Have you considered having the speech evaluated by early intervention? They came for T's feeding issues and although he didn't qualify, I got a lot of information about him from it.

Hi! I just woke up from a two hour nap and I feel like a new person! My boobs feels like they’re going to explode though so C needs to wake up and eat ASAP. kim22 so glad it’s over! peachsmama what happened? What’s a compliance review? Re: showers. Landon takes them by himself now and we usually just throw Lucas and Ryland in our shower together and get them with the handheld sprayer. They do love baths, but it just seems like we are always rushing at night. nam2013 baths are my zen time too, but DNW the kids in with me, lol!!! FFTC: I take a bubble bath basically every single night. I take a book in with me and a glass of wine. If I’m feeling real fancy I do a mask too. Shaun knows this is my things and automatically takes over parenting once dinner is over so I can go up.

I haven't taken a bath in years, that sounds wonderful. Tonight would be a great time but don't want to risk an infection after the doctor was poking around today so I should probably wait until next week.

guster, from what you say, I think C and is a lot like H as far as language. I was hoping tubes would help his speech, and they might have a little bit, but nothing drastic. He doesn’t have a huge vocabulary, but the words he does have are sort of nasally... like he is always whining. I’ve thought about getting him evaluated too. Definitely something I will be bringing up at his 2yr appt

We'll have the results of the hearing test at that point, and maybe C will be less congested and he'll sound a little more clear.

I think I'd love baths if I had a jacuzzi tub or something, but I do not. I can never keep the water warm enough or get comfortable in my regular tub. It's been awhile since I've taken a bath.
Plus, our only tub is in the kid's bathroom and it just doesn't feel relaxing to sit in a 70's pink tub surrounded by toys.

Hi! Just caught up after a busy day at work. One of Col's "besties" is officially out with the flu. He's full of energy and sounds a bit better today, but I'm keeping a close eye on him. Meanwhile Chase is the epitome of the terrible twos. I think he derives a lot of pleasure out of making DH and me crazy.

I'm not getting in the tub with C. He's a dirt squirrel. Also when he does shower I wash him. Because of his eczema he uses dove body wash and adult shampoo that isn't tear free. If I let him wash himself it inevitably gets in his eyes. Plus he's dirty and needs the help. Same. Their water is brown by the time they're done. I drain and rinse them with fresh water from the faucet.

Found a house we like, just came on the market today... we are going to make an above asking price offer if we like it when we see it in the morning... and I think we will. I'm so nervous! We've lost out on houses we gave a full price offer on before.... this is such a stressful market!!!

It's conducted by the bank but all of our investment accounts are with a 3rd party and have their own compliance review. So it's dumb for the bank to do their own. And I have to get all the info from the advisors. And since they agree that's it dumb, I get yelled at. Alot.

What else do you do to help manage it? Any tips?

I may want to pick your brain about this. B still isn’t talking and I am thinking about getting him evaluated. I have his 18 mo checkup next week and I am going to see what she says

All three of my LOs still go in the bathtub. Sometimes they are in together, but most of the time it's car wash style. jewels, not wedding, but Evie got my H's skin and gets really bad eczema too. I find putting Aquaphor on her right before putting her PJs on really seems to help. I am going to look into the soaps you mentioned.

My dad sent out a group text to me, H, my sister, and BIL to announce he's excited to announce that he's moving in with his new GF and ask if we want any of his stuff.
Oh...hey Dad.

I talked to someone tonight and they lost an offer $35k above asking due to someone having a higher down payment. And she called another house but it already had 5 offers in, so they didn't let them go see it😬. I'm waiting for the redfin alert that house we liked to go pending..

What else do you do to help manage it? Any tips? C had what we thought was cradle cap but ended up being seborheic dermatitis on his head so the dermatologist had us do Tsal shampoo to get rid of it and this head and shoulders for maintenance. www.headandshoulders.com/en-us/shop-products/dandruff-shampoo/moisture-care-shampooFor the eczema I've found Dove body wash to be best. I was doing aquaphor before bed but it's so dry this winter he was really flaring so I am using Cortizone 10 eczema lotion and that has helped a lot. This is the first year we've ever had spots that were so itchy they kept him up.

This exactly, right down to the pink tub in the kids' bath (although it was painted white at some point, you can see some of the pink around the drain where some paint has chipped). We had a garden tub in our house in FL and it was really nice to take baths in. I didn't think I would, but I miss that thing. My parents put a freestanding soaker tub in their bathroom when they redid it a couple years ago, and the only people who have ever used it are B & C, lol. I should take a bath in it next time I'm home, it looks so swanky.

I mentioned it to his pedi at 15 months and we started the process shortly thereafter.

Can you still go see it in case it falls through, or are they not taking any more showings for the time being? The market in your area sounds a lot like when we sold our house last spring--houses were getting multiple offers the first day they hit the market. We had people trying to see our house before it was even officially listed. Hang in there, the right house WILL come along!

It’s pretty pricey but he’s small and doesn’t have a lot of hair and I only bathe him every 3 days or so, so it lasts a while. My friend is a derm and she says the aquaphor is good sometimes but it also doesn’t let the skin breathe so I tend to switch it up. Or use the aquaphor on the bad spots

Yes, flamingo, it is so competitive but I didn't realize it was this bad! I was just texting with my realtor and she has agreed to do immediate viewings with us so hopefully that will help. This is beyond frustrating.

That stinks sands42! Thank you flamingo. I have mentioned it to my pedi and she wanted to wait and see. But he is still not talking and everything I’ve read says early intervention is key. I’m interested in the speech therapy but also interested in the early intervention process and how to navigate that.

sands42 omg. Wth. It's not even Feb, so inventory has to increase soon. And right on schedule I got an alert that the house price changed UP $45k and then immediately went pending. Lolz. Very glad we didn't waste the time with just an asking price offer.

I’m interested in the speech therapy but also interested in the early intervention process and how to navigate that. Gotcha! I think some doctors and parents do take a more laissez-faire approach. My sister is a pediatric SLP so I was almost hyper-aware of his not talking, and our pedi agreed at the time it was worth pursuing, so we jumped on it. It's super normal for boys to be delayed talkers, but I just wasn't willing to wait around to see what would happen.
