and because this is obvi bothering me so much.
That lady is teaching her kids to feel entitled. they are not entitled. neither is she. i feel like that's what this all comes down too. 20 years ago, if you couldn't eat something there wasn't a big hoopla about it. You went about your life and social engagements and dealt with it. You can't eat peanuts, then you didn't eat the peanuts. You can't have milk, then you didn't drink the milk. Meat upsets your stomach, then you eat everything else besides the meat. You didn't insist that the event didn't serve, peanuts, milk, meat, etc. Why - because not everything is ABOUT YOU.
Sorry. i have strong feelings about stuff like this.

jedi my sister went to a potluck where someone was handing out recipes and insisted everyone bring something autoimmune protocol compliant. She wasn't the host. All of the guests dreaded it and people backed out like crazy. The next host told her straight up, bring enough for yourself to eat and we'll see about the rest. I'm not sure the nice way to put it but I think it's rude AF to expect dictate what other people bring.

I feel like people are generally good also. Like if I know a GF friend is coming to a potluck I will make something GF because I can. But DNW to receive a bunch of aggressive messages saying "no corn no grains, no papkrika" etc.
For example I think it's appropriate for the host to say "FYI someone coming is gluten free!"
But forcing people to cook a way they don't know means that they will probably cross contaminate it anyway because they don't even understand what is needed.

RunsforWineandCarbs exactly! I mean I haven’t eaten meat in almost 9 years. So I totally know what it’s like to go to a party and have nothing to eat. It’s annoying. But like you said, I would tell people not to bring meet dishes

CestLaVie yeah I mean in the invite we’d put feel free to bring a treat either food or non food to share. I actually recently found out that there is no official policy on nuts for our MOMS club (like internationally) I’m guessing we decided to go nut free because we had a member did if ingested and have severe reactions if she touches it.

Heres what i have so far:
I am going to be honest. I really do not think we should dictate what people can or can not bring to the party as a treat to pass out to friends. I think leaving it open as an either/or is a fine, "Please bring either a food treat or non food treat to share with friends." Some people will bring non food things, some people will bring things like apple sauce pouches, some people will bring candy and some people might bring both so that they have something to pass out to their friend with food allergies.
I started writing this... but probably will not include it.
As a vegetarian, I know first hand what it's like to go to a party with almost no choices available for me to eat. Its something I have had to learn to accept. A lesson I have had to learn. Just recently, I went to a party and knew that an individual was coming that had a dairy sensitivity. The dish I was bringing could be accommodated to fit this sensitivity so I made my dish without dairy.
I am going to take the boys outside and think more about how to word this without saying mean things.

I scheduled my PMP exam. Eek. April 5.
I was told Friday that I will be getting promoted and a big raise if I can get that designation so that lit a bit of a fire haha. Supper at my mom and dad's tonight which is a relief - no cooking!

DS actually peed on the toilet once Saturday and once this morning. We still aren't going hard core for reasons but it is a step in the right direction. DS2 is over 9 lbs now so we don't have to go back to the pedi till 2 months. Yay

jedi, that whole situation would irritate me too, but I’d just leave out the part about you being veg. It leaves it open for her to give her own competing anecdote or say something along the lines of “but they’re kids, and they’re in for a lifetime of frustrations, see, so can’t you accommodate?” And really, it’s not open for discussion.

I'm gluten free due to an allergy. It won't kill me, but it can make me pretty sick. But I have a cook off coming up, it's a yearly event. I eat some before we go, and I know I have a few friends that airways let me know if I can have their items or not. The only person I give a hard time about making a gluten free item is H. I generally make a joke post in the facebook invite about the gluten free vote up for grabs. But I have zero expectation that everyone accommodate me.
I am also in the group with feels about this issue.

Did any of you guys have breech babies that you got to turn? Just found out today baby girl is breech and I'm 37w6d. She was head down as recently as last Wednesday. I'm taking any and all advice and such. Plan for now is to try to get in for acupuncture ASAP and then try a version if needed, possibly Friday or Monday. I've also already done some of the spinning babies exercises and plan to continue.

easternshoregirl a gal in S1’s bmb just had a baby that was breech originally. The hospital did some procedure and got baby to flip. She tried a few other things but whatever procedure they did was what did it

I have to share this hilarious photo of E. After he was done playing in the snow he took off his mittens, sat down on a little bench and refused to smile. He’s got this”I’m so done” look on his face. Seriously the snow probably came up to his knees and he only let me carry him part of the way to the backyard. Pdq

Today was a day. Last week I was sick with the flu and h stayed home to take care of W. W got really used to undivided attention and whoa buddy is he intense this week. I'm still recovering but everytime I sit down he's asking why I'm not playing with him. Because I've got shit to do is what I want to say but I just tell him I'm working. I was trying to register our vehicles today and he tried to LITERALLY LAY OVER MY LAPTOP so that'd I'd pay attention to him... Adding to that were working our way towards weaning (down to just 3 at most) so I'm thinking he just needs more attention. Hoping tomorrow going to the library and post office will keep him occupied and not tugging on me.
