Well remember how I said N seemed fine. She was falling asleep while eating a snack and temp was creeping up (only 99.5). She has Flu A! WTAF. Oh no! Poor girl.

That’s one of the things I don’t like about our neighborhood. Since it’s new construction there aren’t that many trees and the ones that are around are tiny. I bought 4 tiny tree babies from the Arbor Day foundation and planted them around my yard, along with the maple we already have in the front yard. I feel like it will still be forever before I can sit in the shade from them. Neither of my next door neighbors have a tree in their yard. Aren't there rules within the subdivision that you have to have so many trees, shrubs etc within a certain amount of time of moving into new builds? Nope. No HOA or anything like that. The developer of the area isn’t all that involved. As a matter of fact I think he sold a lot of the lots on our street (ours included) to other builders.

Our subdivisions are generally a few different builders with multiple floor plans, no HOA fees at all (that's unheard of here unless you're in an actual Condo association), but the developer follows guidelines set out by the city to ensure that there are trees/shrubs etc. I think it's under something called the 'beautifiation' of neighbourhoods. I think it's a great way to ensure that neighbourhoods look like neighbourhoods and not just lots with houses on them.

The only thing I think the developer cared about was the house color, we had to run that by him. Other houses on the street have trees just not my immediate neighbors. The houses on my street rang from probably 10-12 years old to built in the last year.

Kim and Kanye named their baby Chicago West. It’s a girl. I had a cat named Chicago....repeat--a cat. He was a good kitty boy. We called him "Cog"

Remember about a month ago when I posted about my cousin’s little guy (9 months old) in the hospital with blood in stool and needing a transfusion...they chalked it up to an unknown virus. But did another test last week. Got the results Tuesday, he has Meckel’s Diverticulum. They got results Tuesday, met with surgeon yesterday, and surgery today to do a partial colon resection. They moved so fast because they don’t want him bleeding any more and needing another transfusion. They will be in the hospital for several days, and likely still be there Monday when we check in for the overnight EEG.

I wish I could afford it. I hate doing yard work. Meh. I had a company last year because of MH being away and although they did an ok job, it's not the same care that we give our yard. This is my H's deal. We've tried a couple and he never feels like the job they do is up to his standards (and I would agree, I don't think he's being contrary). My H owned a lawn service in high school and is very conscientious, and I think he enjoys it. In the event he deploys or starts traveling regularly for work, though, he will have to cave and outsource it. My parents' service is amazing and very detail-oriented, but they definitely pay $$$ for it. Their company would be outside our budget. eta: Vino, our subdivision in FL had rules about trees and landscaping. Off the top of my head, you couldn't take a hardwood tree down w/o permission (and they could make you replant one elsewhere in the yard). That was one of the things we liked about that neighborhood--it was older and had established trees and landscaping. So many of the newer developments in FL are clear-cut so all the trees are tiny and it's just barren looking.

I think so lol. So you have Denver and Chicago? Are all your animals named after cities? Denver, Boston, and Raleigh were all from the same litter and came after Chicago. My boys were Denny and Bossy and my brother kept and named Raleigh. I also had rats at the time I got the kitties and their names were Pudge, Pickles, Pippin, and MacGyver. Now my puppy is Lily. We had a temporary cat (stray who was with us for a while until we found a place for her) who was Lilac. Maybe flowers will be our next pet name phase.

My stepdad lives for doing the lawn. They have a ton of grass and on a regular basis he kills off the entire thing because of one blade of crab grass and regrows it. He mows several times a week and has a perfect pattern weaved into the lawn. I on the other hand have never mowed the lawn ever and hope to keep it that way. We have a very tiny lawn maintained by HOAs and in the backyard we replaced the tiny bit of grass with stone and fake grass.

It never grows more than an inch and she cuts it again. She's intense. I love to cut grass but lord.

We mow about every 10 days and don't bag. The lush green that it gets is awesome. We don't have dogs so we are bare feet all the time in and out of the house, I love it.

Our backyard was like an oasis and it was amazing. They enjoyed every minute of maintaining the yard, watering, wrangling the banana trees, trimming the plants & shrubs....I did not get this gene.

I booked my trip to Omaha. I will be there Monday 3/5-Thursday 3-8. My only free time will be Wednesday after 12. The flights from here to there suck balls and I will be travelling 8 hours a day Monday and Thursday. I think everyone was pretty far away and I don't think I will have it in me to travel to see anyone so it may be that we need to connect another time, unless someone is able to come to me midweek. mskatiep, mwhip, trtlcrzy.
