We got a lawn service last year and it is great. The guy is from the neighborhood and gives us a neighborhood discount so it's $36 every 2weeks. I want mh to get a small ride on but we don't have much garage space. Maybe this summer.

Maybe I can just win the lottery and have a lawn service. Almost everyone uses a service here. It takes them almost an hour with 2 guys on gigantic ride-on mowers, plus another guy walks around with an edge trimmer. The neighbor does his own and it easily takes him 2 hours each week.

Lawn service is super popular around here. I think just us and one other house mow our own lawns. And by mow i mean let it get two feet high before cutting it. 😬 I wish I could afford it. I hate doing yard work. Meh. I had a company last year because of MH being away and although they did an ok job, it's not the same care that we give our yard.

Morning.
Finished up an OB visit and going to try to nap because I'm getting crappy sleep at night. It's really making my fibro flare up.
I hate being pregnant.
Dude has a dentist appointment this afternoon.

My uncle owns a land scaping company and says about 50% of his clients are from people wondering over and asking what he would charge to do their yard while he was doing the neighbors. He has one customer that was an older man and they were instructed to mow it every Wednesday by 3. If they wouldn't be done by 3, no big deal just move on and do it next week. Money is under the mat. They were mowing one day (before 3) and the wife came home and laughed all the way into the house as her husband came running out in a panic. Apparently he was retired and she still worked. So when he was supposed to be mowing grass he was golfing.. She said you think I believed you were getting those fancy lines in the grass all summer?! Lol.

I love to mow grass. DH and I fight every week over who gets to mow. We'll probably keep mowing my parents yard when we move out just because we like to mow lol. My parents yard takes about 4 hours to do the whole thing and they have a super expensive land scapers mower. Ours won't be nearly as big at first. Once we put fencing in for animals it'll be more but at first a lot of it will be hay field and I'll just mow around it.

I have a feeling I'll still like what's inside. I even like the outside of the house, but all of the pictures, including the Google Street maps show it from the sidewalk to the house and what I don't like are the views from the house to the sidewalk and and beyond. It's just a lot of other houses that look the same and not enough green and trees. Not enough trees would be a deal breaker for me. We have about 10 trees on our property and i still don’t feel like it’s enough because my neighbors on either side don’t have trees. I get jealous of some of my other neighbors because in their backyards they have huge maple trees on the property and they are old and gorgeous. I seriously want to go and hug those trees. That’s one of the things I don’t like about our neighborhood. Since it’s new construction there aren’t that many trees and the ones that are around are tiny. I bought 4 tiny tree babies from the Arbor Day foundation and planted them around my yard, along with the maple we already have in the front yard. I feel like it will still be forever before I can sit in the shade from them. Neither of my next door neighbors have a tree in their yard.

I love trees, but hate mowing around them! Especially the low lying branch ones, that I have to duck to mow under, then they get caught in my hair. And I only mow around 2 trees! Limb them up!

There's a farm auction near us that sells trees that aren't completely baby but still not fully rooted and huge. We plan to make a tree-fence with those for some immediate tress and fill in with baby one. Since they're cheaper.

snoopmommymom I think high fevers and lethargic and achy are the main ones. I was looking at a chart of flu vs. cold this week and that was my biggest takeaway. Good to know. Luckily no fevers over here. Just FYI, I looked at that chart too, and assumed I had a bad cold based on it. But when I went to the dr she did a flu test “just in case”. She didn’t think I had it either because I had no fever...but it was the flu. I just didn’t run a fever...although I was miserable.

DH loves to mow so I leave that to him. The neighbor across the street works for a landscaping company so they come once a week and mow his yard. So I’ve become a little more picky about how DH mows (in which direction, how high, etc) because I want it to look good next to that. I control the sprinkler system and put down fertilizer. Who have I become?

They’re like 3ft tall, but cost less than $20 (and some less than $10) each. I’m just hoping they all make it through the winter.

snoopmommymom I read an article that contained this info graph, I thought you might find it helpful. And then there are allergies. That should basically be a giant red circle that can encompass it all. In Texas there is a wonderful thing called Cedar Fever. That bitch will take you down every time. Every. Time.

We have a lawn guy. Our lot is tiny- like 5000sq ft. We pay him $25 every two weeks to mow, leaf blow if needed, and edge the garden. We pay him $50 twice a year for Spring and Fall cleanups. I hate yard work.

I saw a news show last night say we should expect 3 more months of flu season. WTH! That seems excessive! They also said you can contract the flu from someone infected 6ft away.

Aren't there rules within the subdivision that you have to have so many trees, shrubs etc within a certain amount of time of moving into new builds?

a is more severe. The doctor said she was the best looking flu patient she has seen today and we already have tamiflu if we want to start that if tonight is rough. She said symptoms are less severe if you have consistently gotten the flu shot. She says it's horrible this year and she doesn't let her girls take their gloves off when they go places and is pretty paranoid herself. She also said to do Tylenol over Motrin since N bit her tongue and bleed, and she said Motrin can cause bleeding issues, but that could be specific to her since she's working on a molar.

Lol about lawn service, MH is dying to take care of a yard. J LOVES helping rake and mow at my mom's. I'm sure it'll get old quick, but I'll enjoy the honeymoon once we get there someday. I just want a freaking laundry machine.

A customer told me this earlier. Right after I greeted her with a hug... She's a former employee so hugs are always our greeting. But I guess I need to switch that up until JUNE! Ugh.
