To those who are having baby sleep in their room, are you getting a separate changing table? I don't think walking from my room to the nursery in the middle of the night sounds like the best option. But there's limited room in my bedroom. We moved ours into our room, but we had plenty of space. You could make due with just a changing pad and put it on the bed for changes. DD peed a lot during changes her first week so the pad was definitely necessary. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Even as a newborn when they apparently pee and poop a million times a day/night? She never pooped overnight. #blessed Pee? We double diapered. If it got out and she was wet, sure. But otherwise we really tried to avoid it. The diapers, the PJs, the swaddle. It was a whole thiiiiiing that I hated to take apart. Dude. That is impressive. My kids like to poop lol. We don't change her overnight unless absolutely necesary. Even as a newborn when they apparently pee and poop a million times a day/night? Different perspective: I changed her in between boobs every time she woke up to eat. She would get sleepy sometimes after nursing on one side even though we hadn't started on the other side yet. Changing her diaper roused her a little bit to get her through the nursing session.

What happens if you are up for a scheduled c-section and go into labor before the scheduled date? Does it get turned into an asap "emergency " CS or? Assuming going natural isn't an option for medical reasons. This totally is a Q I will ask my MFM obv but that appointment isnt until the 19th and it is question that keeps bugging me. Sidenote: we don't kniw yet whether I will be able to go natural, if they are advice against it a CS it will be regardless of whether I go into labor before the scheduled date or not. Hence my wondering heh. This I can speak to- my aunt had this happen two years ago and a VBAC wasn't an option for her. She was sent to the hospital immediately and labored there. They got her in later that day, but she spent about 7 or 8 hours laboring in the hospital. Because she wasn't having a rapid labor, they made her wait, but she had many cervical checks (i want to say hourly). She went into labor after a cervical check in her doctor's office, which I think made an impact because they didn't want her having stuff in her stomach if at all possible. If she had progressed fast, she would have been treated as an emergency CS and gotten in right away

Re heartburn. I had it both times. DS1 had a small amount of hair. DS2 had a full head of it.

I don't know who will be able to answer this. But anyone see any truth to heartburn = baby having a lot of hair? I have had heartburn maybe 5 times this whole pregnancy and maybe baby will be bald? I guess I will report my findings eventually. Just curious ... As my anecdote, I have had 2 pregnancies full of heartburn, and 2 extremely hairy babies.

Question: for those of you who graduated from an RE, when did your OB first see you? I will graduate today at 8w3d, but I haven't scheduled an OB appt yet. I don't really care when, but trying to figure out when the OB visit will fall in regards to doing some testing. Probably already answered since I'm really late, but when I was seeing my RE for DD, he saw me until 11 weeks but had me schedule my first OB appt at 10 weeks

But there's limited room in my bedroom. We just bought an extra waterproof cover and kept it with diapers and wipes in our bedroom. We would throw the cover down and change her on the bed in the MOTN

RE: heartburn, I had awful heartburn with DS, never had it before in my life, and he was born with a full head of hair.
Awful heartburn this time around too so....we'll see in 18 more weeks if it holds true lol.

Nordstrom is your friend. Seriously, underwire bras and two piece bathing suits. Only available online though. +1 to Nordstrom. Super sweet lady fitted me for nursing bras. I got two to get through the first few weeks, then I have her card and I'll go back to her once things settle down to get more. Also, Nordstrom can convert a regular bra into a nursing bra - I seem to recall it being about $10. Good for the bras that you used during pregnancy that may not work post- nursing.

@starzia So the only advice I can offer is my Dr said the contractions are only real (aka not BH) if they are so painful you cannot talk or walk through them and they kind of take your breath away. So if you are having those 3-5min apart for two hours, then call or go in. Otherwise, unless your water breaks, it doesn't really matter.
So cramping and contractions that are uncomfortable but don't fall into the above don't really matter.

Sorry you are going through this uncertainty @starzia! I'm no help, because my water broke before I had any contractions with DS. The only contractions I had in the hospital were ones caused by Pitocin - and those really really sucked.
Hope you have some clarity on how things are going soon!

It was not the real deal. I thought it was going to be. So bummed. At least I didn't rush to the hospital and embarrass myself further. My husband says he's happy he got the afternoon off and to have some more false alarms he won't mind. Don't feel stupid - even if you had gone to the hospital! This is all new to us so all we can do is wing it the best we can. 😚

I'm slightly terrified this ti me around since we're looking at a more 'normal' pregnancy that I'm going to have no clue what to do. Like...it's over an hour to our hospital. When do I goooo???!!!!

The hospital is approx 30 mins away from home BUT they're doing road construction on the ringway here which adds an additional 30 minutes easy if we're unlucky.. I hadn't thought about the travel time at all ... so now I too wonder when do I gooooo LOL!

Any one else find it really icky that people are asking if your dilated? Like my mother doesn't even ask that. Uhhh, I'm not sure I would ask my sister or other BFF that. Like if you offer the info sure, but hello? I am fully prepared to give death stares, slap hands and inform people to mind their own business if I get inappropriate questions or touching. It's mostly not an issue in my culture, but y'alls stories about random people in town ..................

If you aren't in excruciating pain its a BH not a real contraction. I realize I'm a couple days late on this, but I completely disagree with the above and am surprised a Dr gave you this information. DS was born on a Tuesday morning after contractions started Monday morning. Up until Monday night when back labor was at its worst and the contractions were literally no-stop, they were not in any way shape or form "excruciating" and I was most definitely in real labor. I was told to call the dr and head to the hospital when my contractions were 5 minutes apart and lasting a minute each for an hour, and getting painful. It can be tough to tell if it's the real deal, but do not wait for serious pain to consider them real contractions!

Any one else find it really icky that people are asking if your dilated? Like my mother doesn't even ask that. Duuuuude. Literally my coworker walked into the room I was in, as I was feeding a baby and goes "hey! So, are you dilated yet?" I was like DAFUQ?! We are NOT that close for me to be telling you the status of cervix. We used to be VERY close, like work bffs but a lot of shit changed about 3 years ago, and now we barely talk, so even MORE reason to WTF! I just looked at her and said something like "baby doesn't seem interested in leaving any time soon. I guess I'll find out at my appt later this week..." but like WTAF? My mom keeps asking me how much weight I've gain and I just told her I wasn't keeping track (bc fuck you and leave me alone. I know she's going say something if I tell her the truth)
