So A was trying to crawl a couple weeks ago, and now he’ll only scoot backwards. Is that normal?

I had book club at my house today. I spent the morning makin brunch. It was nice to have some women who have kids here because they all played with J so I had a break. I was worried because my DH bff came over on Thursday and anytime he tried yo pick up j he bawled but he doesn't have children. J was happy as could be with these women.

My nanny is magical. He’s been napping so well for her all day. Thank god. But he’s so stuffy and tired. My poor little one. I know it’s just a cold* but I feel so sad for him to be feeling so crappy.
Work is killing me. Pumping for the first time since 6am. Ugh my boobs hurt. At least I was so busy I couldn’t be tired??

Yep we are going for it. We are going to start tonight. The plan is to try foe 4 nights and see how it goes. But we are only doing nights, not naps. We will conquer naps later. It's going to suck hearing him cry but it will be best for all 3 of us if this works. We are going to try the ferber method.

Yeah since she was taking zero naps, I thought I would try that first. GL, hope he does ok, hugs it’s not easy. Let us know how it goes!

Hope it’s going well king26! Glad the nanny is working out addymac. Yay for girl time jt2378! I had brunch with some friends last Monday and I loved catching up and actually being able to converse without dealing with the baby.

So sleep training went better then expected. I felt awful the first lay down. He bawled for 20 minutes then fell adleep. It felt like 2 hours but really 20 minutes wasn't bad. We are using the ferber method so I did 2 check ins before he fell asleep. He slept 745 to 10 then I had to go do 1 check in and he was asleep within 10 minutes. He slept 10 to 12. I fed him at midnight and when I out him back in crib he was asleep within 3 minutes. He slept 1230 to 3. At 3 he cried for 5 minutes then fell back asleep on his own. He woke up at 4 and I fed him. He was pissed when I put him back in his crib after that feeding and cried for 12 minutes so I did 1 check in. He slept 430 to 630. He was up at 630 for like 2 minutes and then slept until 730. So all in all not bad for a first night and DH and I slept better even being up that many times. But j had 3 decent stretches and was able to put himself back to sleep. I'm going to continue feeding him twice at night for now but am going at least 4 hours between feeds. I'm hoping to extend that to 5 hours between feeds within the next week depending on how the next few days go. So, basically it broke my heart hearing him cry, I hated him not being in our room ( first time in crib overnight) but it went better then expected.

Sounds like a great start! king26. I know how hard it is to hear them cry. It feels like forever ☹️

Hopefully it’s the beginning of better sleep king26! I can’t seem to get A to settle back to sleep between 3-7am. Even if I nurse, he’s up every hour. I’m attempting to only nurse twice a night again, I started to slack on that when he and I got sick. MH keeps saying I should transfer him to his own room, but I don’t feel ready yet.

Yep neither of us was ready for him to be in his own room but we realized all 3 of us were sleeping horribly so it wasn't fair to any of us. I woke up several times worried last night because I couldn't hear him but in general we all slept better. I'm hoping tonight goes well

She only cried a few minutes this morning for nap and not wailing so it’s getting better. She slept like an hour and a half.

We ended up having two 1 hour naps, a 35 minute nap, and a 25 minute nap. During both hour long naps he out himself back to sleep twice and stayed in his rnp. Sleep training night number 2 is on now. Wish us luck!

king26 I hope night 2 went well. I hope everyone's babies feel better soon for those that have sick babies. I'm conflicted bc I gave baby h (5 months and 1 week) Gerber oatmeal cereal on Saturday morning. He did not nap at all that day!! I gave it to him Sunday again, and he was also crank Sunday. However, I'm pretty sure he's teething and is just having an explosion of changes now, developing new sounds, discovering his feet, rolling more, etc. He has also protested the slow flow nipples and is going through a major nursing strike. So I'm worried the solids are causing him to be fussy/not sleeping but with all those other factors, I just can't know. Maybe I'll stop for a week or so, but he really seemed to enjoy eating it.
