Today is day 2 of napping in the crib but she really cried for 10 mins. I feel bad and hope it gets easier 😞
Yesterday she slept almost 2 hours in there and woke up a much happier baby so at least there is that.

Yesterday j was up from 300 to 400 last night so I put him in the pnp at 4. He whined and moaned and kicked but never cried from 4 to 430 when I gave uo. That gives me hope maybe sleep training won't totally suck

I feel like putting them down awake is the recipe for success. I will say, though, that it never worked for my ds1. He wouldn't take a paci and would just cry and cry and not calm down even if I stood right there and patted him. We never tried extinction crying with me out of the room bc I just couldn't. He's three now and still can't fall asleep on his own.

I feel like M is the same so I haven’t been checking but feel terrible. Ugh it’s so hard!

jt2378 that’s great about the progress! thinkchocolate05 my first wasn’t like that, but I feel this kid is going to be. No paci and just cries. Speaking of that, I am so ready (but not) to start sleep training. I started much later with my first, but I don’t think I can do that this time. I used Ferber method, so I’ll probably start with again. I feel it will be tough becuase he is such a breastfed baby. So I need to not only get him to sleep but also stop the feedings! I really hope he takes a binky soon!

It's 920 and sleep already sucks. We had a friend over and everything got messed up. He only took a 20 minutes evening nap. Then he fell asleep at 8, I put him in the pnp and he was up at 830. He's still up now. Wtf??

E had a horrible night of sleep as well. All week it's been getting worse. Last night she was up for hours, just...awake. And up every 2 hours otherwise.
Coffee for everyone. ☕☕☕

this kid wont sleep either... longest stretch was from 10-12:45. I got up 4x with him and DH got up 1x for an hour. I finally gave Ip going back to bed and just stayed on his futon bc it wasn’t worth the extra steps of going back to our room to get cozy in bed to be up in ten-30min. I also just fell asleep on the futon with him. As soon as he goes back in the crib he wakes up again. I don’t fucking get it. He had a week and a half period where he woke up once or twice and went right back down- when I worked nights. And now we are lucky if he only wakes up three times. I’m so fucking tired I started drinking coffee to get through my work day.

I swear our babies are all punking us!
So we had 2 good days of crib naps and put her down this morning and she fell asleep but of course her coughing woke her up so that was that. So frustrating because now I feel like every time something gets better something else happens which sets us back. Her cough sounds lousy so I’m taking her to the pedi at 2:45.

I'm barely functioning at work

Also...my 40 year old cousin just announced she is pregnant....with her 9th child. As some with IF life is just so damn unfair.

king26 ((hugs)) not the same, but I get so salty when people announce pregnancies (esp so early) and are in happy la-la land without a care in the world. But omfg to 9 kids.

H put E down for a nap while I was at PT. He swaddled her because she was pissed and kept flailing her arms and would go to sleep when he held her arms down. She s been napping for 3 hours in the crib! Like...what?!

jt2378 I hope baby is okay and has good Drs appt. Coughs are so frustrating since there's not much to be done at this age and they destroy sleep king26 Hugs regarding the news from your cousin. I second what addymac said regarding 9 kids. She probably hasn't slept in like a decade!! No comparison at all to your cousin, but I was mad those awful people who got arrested in California had 13 kids. It's just not fair people like that can have so many. kristyw I feel like sleep is always different for husbands. They will do exactly the same thing and baby will say, "screw mom" and sleep so nicely and then not repeat it. We are giving baby h either sweet potatoes or oatmeal cereal tomorrow. I'm excited!! He is such a mouthy baby always wanting to chew things. I'm hoping he enjoys it.

Next week when he turns 5 mo the we are trying pears or apples.

I think I’m going to try R in the pack n play at night this weekend. I need a solid block of sleep. Or, I need to buy a monitor with a temperature alarm so I can put her in the crib at night.

Thanks @easilyunamused, she was totally fine, ears and lungs good!
As far as me, I liked the dr alot but I’m even more confused lol. He did more extensive blood work which all came back normal and I’m doing a pill cam test where you swallow a pill camera and it takes thousands of images through your intestines. Pretty crazy stuff. I’m glad so far everything is coming back fine but they can’t figure out why this happened to me. I see my regular surgeon Tuesday for follow up so we’ll see I guess.

I think DS might have caught a stomach virus. Nothing like a stinky middle of the night wake up emergency. There are some parts of being a parent that seriously suck. Hopefully it’s short lived and the baby doesn’t catch anything.

I think the pack n play was a success last night. R slept from 8:30pm to 4am. Then she talked/fusses for about 1.5 hours then slept until 6:15am. So, I need to figure out how to get rid of the 4am wake up. I also changed the noise machine to actual white noise sound since I read somewhere awhile ago that other sounds can cause wake ups due to the change in rhythm. And, I brought her seahorse upstairs. We turn it on for naps and she likes to touch it while falling asleep. So, since she has a larger sleeping space I figured it’d be ok.
Now, I just need to figure out how to sleep in solid blocks. I woke up a couple times, but fell asleep fairly quickly.
