cali I am very sorry for your loss. addymac I thought you had to stop swaddling once they started rolling. I stopped with baby H when he was very close to rolling bc he was also very aware of his hands being confined, and it was pissing him off. It did jack up his sleep for a few weeks. I considered using a sleep suit or zipadeezip, but we used something similar with ds1, and I don't think it helped his sleep much at all. Baby H has had leap 4, then a cold, now a growth spurt, so it's been hard to tell, but I think his sleep is finally starting to normalize without the swaddle with 3 to 4 hrs stretches. It definitely got worse before it got better, though.

Thanks cwbh928. Is he still in your room? Does he sleep in the crib yet? He is in his crib. We moved him the week after New Years. Technically he is in his own room, but also technically not. Our master bebroom has a spare room or sitting room that is the size of a bedroom. I put his nursery there. So he can’t hear us, but he also isn’t completely alone yet.

This sounds so ideal, close enough, in the crib, but not too far! I wish our room was bigger

Anyone's toddler get really bad growth pains causing night wakings? My three year old does. He cries and cries unless I keep rubbing his legs. Motrin helps but I'm not comfortable giving that to him every night.

Also, sleep is still sucking . I really think J isn't feeling well too. When I got home from work yesterday DH looked exhausted. He said j screamed and cried for an hour which is very unlike him. He did it for 20 minutes foe me in the evening. He was up 4 times last night. Twice he ate, twice I got him back to sleep. I need some sleep! But I hope he is feeling ok. I have my doubts.

Omg it’s so bad here. I couldn’t even put her down last night. Like would not sleep a wink unless next to me or holding her. I cannot function like this. I have to figure a way to start sleep training. This is not sustainable at all. I’m sorry J is having a tough time too.

She said growth pains and said to use heating pads or Motrin. I remember having them as a kid, just not this bad. He was up three times last night. And baby h was up 4x, so yay! I sympathize with all the sleep issues.

Maybe his teeth. Hudson was screaming all night last night and the evening before. His cry was definitely not a hunger or tired cry. He just seemed uncomfortable. Hope you get some sleep!

I have been out of work and have no idea how I will manage going back. I don’t know if it’s just because I have 2 kids now or I’m older but holy hell its exhausting!

M is actually asleep in her crib!! But not without going ape shit and crying a solid 10-15 mins. I didn’t go in and feel terrible. I’m so conflicted, is she too young for this shit? Ugh I hate sleep stuff, it makes me doubt myself so much 😞

That just sucks! Yeah unreal. It’s been horrible. I see a GI specialist today to see if he has any additional testing he thinks I should do.

Motrin helps but I'm not comfortable giving that to him every night. Yes, my toddler keeps saying his feet and legs hurt and that he needs cream. So I massage with lotion which sometimes helps.

This week is trying to undo me. DD is getting her first teeth, which has resulted in a lot of banshee screaming. Also having to transition out of the swaddle because of rolling. The two combined are not great.
My 3 yo has also been getting up at night and then staying up for the day around 5am. He doesn’t nap so by dinner time he is a hot mess of tantrums.
I already told DH I am temporarily running away for a bit this weekend.

I’m stuck where we aren’t wanting to move her into her own room yet but there is nothing in my room that she is sleeping well in so I think it’s time but MH is being a pain ugh. I got a 3 hr stretch in the RnP and that was it.

I decided to try no-cry sleep training, starting last night. I usually would do jammies, white noise, nurse to sleep, and then down in his crib but he would wake upset every 2-4 hrs, I think because he nursed to sleep in my arms and then woke up in the crib.
Last night we did nurse at 6 pm and he dozed for a bit. At 7, jammies and sleep sack, then say good night (and he lunged for big brother's snack, lol), then lights off and white noise and a 3 oz bottle of bm. He was weirded out not nursing to sleep, so I let him nurse a little. In the end, I put him down in his crib very drowsy but awake with his paci. He slept for an hour. When he woke, I nursed for 10 min and put back down with paci. He slept til 1:30. I nursed him back to sleep and then he slept 2-7!! I was shocked. I'm going to try again tonight. It sounds really disorganised when I write it out, but my main goal is ending the nurse to sleep association for at least the initial put-down and putting him down drowsy but awake so he's not startled when he wakes in the crib. Tonight will probably be a cluster, lol.
