I'm having a hard time concentrating this morning. I feel jittery. I'm over sitting at this desk all day. Unfortunately, I have opinions to read. Maybe I'll be able to sneak out early today though. I told Cadence this morning that after today we have 3 days of no school or work. We're both very excited. I see movies in bed in our future.

peachsmama have you tried Mucinex cough syrup? That worked well for A this last cycle of illness. I haven't. I've been using Hylands cold and cough. But I'll grab some when I go.

And I'm a big fat stupid head.
As predicted, he made me eat my words. I just didn't think it would happen quite that quickly.
He was mad my mom was walking ahead of him to the car with X so he kicked his box of Legos and now I need to retrieve 974 little pieces from under the couch.

At what age do we start to worry about backwards and upside down letters? I know it is a phase they go through, just wasn't sure how long it lasts....

joelies I've been reading your posts lately about Colin's night time training and him wetting the bed, it seems like everyone is stressed about it. Is it worth it? total rhetorical question, but by the sounds of it, it sounds like everyone is on edge. Not that my opinion matters here, but I dont think that pull ups are a bad thing ::insert shruggy guy::

Morning Ladies! I'm sitting at the gym trying to answer a few emails, next to the loudest ladies in the word who shout to talk and decided to sit right next to me. I think the universe is telling me to get my ass on the treadmill. Have so much fun wedding ! nam2013 Sorry about the rejection letter. When one door closes another opens, and all that. Hopefully the next good thing is around the corner. klong11 My kindergartener was still writing "s" backwards, and switching up "b's" and "d's" at the last PT conference, and the teacher let me know it's perfectly normal.

dapostrophe, thanks! I think I may have confused her yesterday when I said we would practice her name and I used lowercase letters. She told me my A was wrong.

I didn't have time. I had to get him out the door so I could get on my conference call. So I picked them up but he will not be getting his Legos back for awhile.

Josie writes her letters correctly (when she wants to write, which is practically never), but she physically works in the opposite direction than you typically would. It's because she's left-handed. Her preschool teachers (One who is left-handed) do not like this and try to correct her, and it has caused some confusion and some frustration in her part when I work with her. Our pediatrician thinks it's utterly ridiculous to call it attention to it, and a good friend, a first grade teacher, also commented that as long as the letter is legible and doesn't take an extraordinary amount of time to construct it, there shouldn't be a problem. Sometimes I feel like her preschool is very focused on one way to do things being the only right way.

guster, yeah, I'm not pressing her. This was the first time in awhile that I've had her do anything writing-wise that wasn't initiated by her. She gets very frustrated if she gets it "wrong" so I didn't say anything to her about it.

I was feeling some of the frustration/pressure that I think preschool might put on them. I know that our director really prides of herself on everybody being kindergarten ready by the time they leave the program.

Landon still does this occasionally with certain letter and numbers (b,d, p,q,5) and he’s in 2nd grade. His teachers says it’s still developmentally appropriate

klong11,C's letters are backwards, upside down, and often all over the page vs in a line. He also starts at the last letter and works to the first one. Teacher said they don't get concerned until 1st grade.

I noticed in HS that she hooks her hand around when she writes and forms some letters differently than I do. She has great, clear handwriting so I think whatever J is doing will turn out just fine too.

I don’t really make H work on writing letters much at home. I did get her a letter tracing workbook and sometimes she wants to do that but I don’t force it.

Did anyone else recently (like in the last 2 days) update your iPhone? Mine updated overnight the night before last and is now acting up. It will randomly tell me I don’t have service. The only way to get it to work is to shut it off and restart it. Super annoying.

J has preschool homework that she wants over asap, but I have much more luck with her when we send a drawing or painting in the mail to family. She's happily label something and write her name.

Not that my opinion matters here, but I dont think that pull ups are a bad thing ::insert shruggy guy:: We've been KOKO because HE has wanted to, and because DH is afraid that he'll never agree to ditch them again if we go back. But he's been so upset these last few mornings that I want to bring up pullups as an option with him again. DH will deal, he's mellowed out quite a bit since our pediatrician's little CTJ chat. I'm just concerned about making Colin feel like we don't think he can do it, he tends to be pretty sensitive.

Homework?! H has never had any homework. Colin gets a packet a week, usually 5-7 pages. Some of it is tracing or copying letters, some is counting and matching, and there's usually some coloring involved. Those are always his least favorite pages - my kid HATES to color.
