I'm really struggling with pumping overnight. I'm ok if K wakes up but setting an alarm to pump sucks. Especially because it still hurts.

Good morning! The baby was up every two hours to eat last night. One of those wake ups included him staying awake for an hour. I’m tired but it’s expected for a newborn so 🤷🏻♀️. It’s snowing and G’s school is closed. We are going to stay in and have a movie day.

jessijean I’m in the same boat. DD2 is usually awake for at least an hour in the middle of the night so I change and feed her but am having a hard time doing my 4am pump. My nipples really hurt and I’m not sure if I need to change up my flange size or just keep waiting for them to toughen up.

And we got maybe 1/10” of snow last night and public schools and DD1s preschool are both closed today. Luckily the drop in daycare is open so DH is taking her there for the morning so I can hopefully nap.

We are all snuggled up on the couch while it snows excessively outside. DD was up for an hour MOTN last night. Her poor cough kept her up and she was having a hard time staying asleep. And I could not fall asleep last night either. I don’t think I fell asleep till 2am. Between DD coughing, MH snoring, and me being hugely pregnant, it was not a good combination. Every time i got up to pee, the baby would wake up and think it was party time. Luckily DD slept in till 8 today so we actually got some sleep. She keeps telling us that she’s not sick though 😂 Power of positivity with this one!

So my baby’s belly button scab thing fell off today. 8 days old seems early for this? I wish I remembered when DD1s fell off but I feel like she was older than this.

My friend's baby lost his pretty early too, like a week! I feel like I remember it took longer with DS too but I think if it looks ok, you should be fine. Maybe someone else has more definitive knowledge on this...

Just hanging at home with DS. DH was back and forth over going in late or regular time, left but then came back and now has left again! There will be a lot of TV in our house today. I'm so annoyed with myself. I keep getting a phone number for a painter from my dad and I keep losing it...wth?! I now want to call him but I'm tired of bugging my dad about it!

As long as it looks okay I am sure it is fine! When is baby's next check-up? I know DD1 needed a little bit of silver nitrate to help hers heal up which is totally NBD.

I feel so bad for DD1, she loves preschool and it was cancelled again this week (she only goes 2 days a week). She is at daycare today instead and they are having pajama, popcorn, and movie day, so hopefully she is having fun anyway. Heck, I want to have my own pajama, popcorn, and movie day haha!
I have people over cleaning my vents and I feel so awkward - am I supposed to stay here? Am I supposed to go? Am I in their way? Eeeeek! What I should be doing is meal planning and making a grocery list but instead I am here talking to you guys :-P

We have snow here. We don't live far from DC so we took DD in so we could get some work done while we WFH. I anticipate them closing early but since we're around the corner it's nbd.

I had this spot on my right side/ribs that has been achy since I had a cold a few weeks ago. It was getting better and then monday when daycare was closed I had to carry DS in and out of the Children's museum and then yesterday went shopping for a dresser for the baby with my mom who insisted on going to like 5 stores and getting in and out of the car was hard. Then I sneezed and I felt a really sharp pain there. Now I literally can't use that arm and it hurts when I move at all. Now I need this to get better before I go into labor. Also DS was up 2x last night and I have no idea why. DH has been very helpful but I pissed him off this AM. I used the last of the soy milk and he said that he bought more. I disagreed since he bought unsweetened almond milk which is not at all the same. He was irritated and now I feel bad because he has been picking up a lot of slack. I miss ibuprofen!

Good morning!
Of course daycare is closed, so we’re on the couch watching the cartoon grinch. 2 weeks and 2 days till my due date, and I need every daycare morning I can get to get things ready. 😬
But our nursery rug finally arrived yesterday and it looks great! I want to post pictures but I don’t have tapa, and apparently it’s impossible otherwise. Womp womp.

I feel like a total n00b asking this, but I am considering getting another crib - with DD2's sleep issues and the fact that she hasn't tried to climb out yet I am thinking we might leave her in it longer than we did with DD1! We went super fancy with the crib we have but now I would probably just need a sturdy budget-friendly option. Any favorites? Or do we just leave DD3 in a PNP indefinitely? What would you guys do?

Wayfair! We have 2 cribs for this exact reason. When DS2 was born DS1 was just 2 and slept wonderfully in his crib so we just got another. My cribs hv always been sub $200 which may have made the decision easier. Now that th baby is coming, DS2 is still in his crib it we still have an extra. Tada! $200 to me is worth not entering in another sleep factor.

It sounds like it is fine, if it oozes pus or seems to not be scabbing over properly it is worth calling and they might have you come in but otherwise I would think you are good! Bellybutton stumps gross me out so much lol, I am always paranoid I am going to hurt them.

I made DH use a wipe to get it. The one good thing is that DD2s stump was way smaller than DD1s so it wasn’t as gross.

sarahh I would try a different flange size. I waited too long to do that the first time around and it was amazing to feel the difference.

Baby is making up for her quiet day yesterday with a big ole dance party in there today. I think the same thing happened to someone else here recently. Yes it is reassuring but dang.
Also, since I was sick on Tues, DH took care of bedtime/overnight for 2 nights. I normally do all of that. Tuesday night was rough for me due to being sick but last night was amazing. I might have to "let" him do that more...

Hi! RCS is one week from today! AH! The hospital just called for my pre op interview and to give me instructions. I can’t believe it’s so soon. I’m tried. I was up from 2:30 on. I couldn’t stop coughing, Wife was snotting and snoring and sniffling. And way too close to me. Sorry, Wife. It was also really cold (58 inside, 32 outside) get it together, Florida!

Speaking of umbilical stumps, when DD1’s fell off at her first appointment, the nurse asked if I wanted to keep it. I said “oh god, no thank you.” She looked at me like I was crazy, and put it in a bag for me “in case I changed my mind.”🙄
I conveniently forgot to take that with me.

sarahh, DD's fell off at 5 days old! I remember being so worried and the we told the dr and she was like, "cool, one less thing you have to worry about!" peachesncream, I am leaving DD in the crib for now too. She's 2.5, hasn't tried to climb out, and she's still in a sleep sack. She sleeps through the night. Why mess with it if I don't have to? except gettiing her in and out of the crib is THE WORST. So I'm supposed to have my 37 week appt today. The office is closed. I'm wondering if they'll reschedule me or if I can just go next week? I know I will hear from the tomorrow but just wondering if anyone had any ideas? MH is WFH today so I'm hoping to take the decorations off the tree and have him take it the F out of here. I'm SOOOOO done with pine needles all over my house. Plus trash day is tomorrow so it seems like good timing.
