Cadence and I survived the store, although I wasn't sure we would make it out of the baking aisle without the blue cake mix Cadence kept grabbing off the shelf. Not too busy and everyone was super friendly. Cadence told our friend at Starbucks Merry Christmas. It's an older gentleman who is usually there with his old chocolate lab. She was upset when we pulled up and they weren't outside, but he was sitting inside today. He always makes a point to say hi to her and ask how gymnastics is going. Awwww. That’s so sweet.

Hi all! Kids are down for a nap. Church is at 3. Dh and I might still be in our pajamas and drinking Moscow mules.
After church we’ll stop at my sisters for a little bit to have a drink and appetizers. Then we’ll come home and the kids will open presents from us.

Hi! Just came home from Christmas with my inlaws. It was okay, my mil/fil were very sweet. My SIL was cooking and although we told her last week that we would probably be leaving around 7 (normally the kids are in bed by then) she put up main (stew) at 6 and it ‘needed at least 1,5 hours’... so we’re home, the kids are almost asleep and we need to figure out what’s for dinner. Plus I didn’t get desert, which I made. Boo.

That stinks nam2013, I hate when that happens! If people don't want to abide by kids schedules, they should let you know ahead of time! For anyone who was wondering, I found an easy recipe on cooking light that we have all the ingredients but 2 in the house, and S and I just ran out to Aldi to pick up the other 2. Hopefully it's decent tallb you're near here? MH is from this area and we come down a few times a year. His dad, sister & step brothers are all local.

The other day someone ( sands42 maybe?) posted about a broccoli casserole. What was in it? Like a quiche? My kids both tolerate broccoli... I always just sauté or steam it.

It's has been snowing for a few hours now. Fx there will be enough to sled after nap time. I had hoped we would get to the gym for a swim but we got there as it closed. SD is complaining about MIL having xmas party at 930 am on the 26th. There are 5 other kids that will be up by 8 and not sleeping until 12. And at least 3 that will need naps. Teens!

I called the readiclinic to ask about a possibility of a sinus infection. The PA dismissed that idea and told me to stop the Tamiflu since he’s not handling it well. Ugh!

jewels I’m not Sands, but our broccoli casserole is frozen broccoli (cooked and chopped super fine), cheese, cream of mushroom soup, I think mayo...some ppl do a cracker crumb crust/topping but we just do more cheese 😁 It’s clearly diet, and delicious.

Hi! We had lunch at this neat BBQ place and then did a carriage tour. The kids loved it and of course seeing the Charleston downtown area in its holiday finery is always neat. Both kids are car napping while DH picks up party platters from Publix.
Christmas vent: I don’t get it...my ILs haven’t seen the kids since June, they lament that they ‘never get to see you’, and yet here we are at Christmas, all together, and FIL opts to stay at the house watching football while everyone else is out. Makes me crazy to hear him in particular complain how far away we live when he can’t be bothered to participate when we’re all together 🙄

Hiiii Happy Christmas eve, friends.
The day started with B singing Christmas carols super early, sounds cute but, no child, 5:34am is an unacceptable time to wake up. I was kinda grumpy but I think I’m over it.
We’re headed to my Mom’s for dinner and gifts. We’re in a deep freeze here from over night, so we’ve packed a set warm clothing just in case. I despise it being this cold.
Anywho, after i visit the grave someone better have a wine set out for me. 🍷🍷

flamingo that’s so annoying! klong11 that’s super cute! I’m amazed at all those N13 actually painting and drawing with a purpose... mine scratches, scribbles and splotches for three minutes and then yells he’s done.

DH and the girls stopped by my work to bring me Zantac and hung out for a little bit. I was finally able to get a good pic of them in their Christmas dresses but it was on DH’s phone and he hasn’t sent it to me yet.

I spent the day with my family at my brother's house. DH stayed home because they have 2 dogs and 2 cats, and he's long since stopped even trying to manage his allergies. I have feelings on that, but that's for another time... But the boys could NOT get enough of the animals, it was so cute. My sister and her fiance came, it was his first family event so it was kind of nice. My brother and his wife are always great and my parents were on good behavior.
Anyhow the boys are overtired but happy, and DH allegedly did all the required assembly. So it's just putting bows on the presents and putting them under the tree. Thank goodness because I am tired!!

I asked E to write a note to Santa. MH started to write it and I asked E to make an attempt at writing Santa and his own name. I told him Santa would bring an extra present if he just tried. "No thanks I just need the 3 things". Ok kid.

Made a batch of Mexican wedding cookies and just put my Dad's favorite cherry cream cheese pie in the fridge to set. I'm done for the evening until Cadence goes to sleep and then I can finish wrapping the gifts from Santa.
She told me this morning that Santa wasn't real, but after talking a bit more she was referring to the Santa inflatables in people's yards.

So last night, some time before 9, someone slit the back tires of a patient's truck in our parking lot. Today the patient's father or something spent the whole after noon getting the old tires off and replacing them. It was like 16 degrees today. How shitty of a thing to do to someone 2 days before Christmas that just had a baby. The guy came and asked me for patient relations number because he wants to complain that there aren't more lights in the parking lot. I'm not sure exactly what that would have helped except possibly discouraging someone from doing it. But since theirs was the only vehicle it happened to it seems like it was done to their vehicle on purpose and not some random attack.

Just putting the kids down and I haven't wrapped a single item. Wth was I thinking?! I've already had one breakdown bc we had to leave 2 things early bc j won't listen..one being church. I am hoping the rest of the week goes better and I can get him to nap and save our sanity. We didn't go up for communion bc j wasn't listening and I may have said that they tell Santa who is good up there. I'm going to hell. Dinner was nice though and N polished off two things slices of pumpkin pie, ha.

We went to my in laws for Christmas Eve. FIL got home on Friday and is doing well but because he's still recovering it was just us and BILs family, which was really nice. C did an awesome job sharing. Food was gross as usual. Making a snack now.
C just came downstairs yelling "mom, are the presents here yet?!" I just put him to bed ten mins ago. I will be shocked if he's not up at 4 am by we told him Santa only comes if he sleeps until his clock turns green so we will see🤞

jewels ha, small world! I'm from another part, but live in the first one you mentioned. Glad you found an easy recipe! lol that's funny! I don't know why I thought you lived in D.C. Maybe we can meet up one of these days when I'm down there! Multiple days with the inlaws is... not easy. We are driving back now. Tomorrow we are taking S to his first movie (coco) then Christmas with my friends. Should be a nice day!!
