Sharing this NYT article www.nytimes.com/guides/smarterliving/resolution-ideasIf you don’t have a resolution, but you’re hoping to get back on track after the holidays, check in here. I want to set something up for the post holiday season. Also, if you have any ideas on what to do, please share that. I’m basically making stuff up here.

yes! I was thinking about this today.
Last year was the first year ever that I have kept a resolution. And I think it was because I really toned down my expectations. I didn't try to do P90X first thing, I started with BBM and Fit Girls Guide and slowly worked my way up to going to the gym.
I also chose a word of the year last year (bloom) and I really enjoyed doing that so I think I will do it again.
I will have to think about what my word and my resolutions this year will be. I do know I want to give another kick at the can at morning pages. I did it for the first few months of this year but it fell to the wayside.

2018 is going to be the "Year of Me".
I've put myself on the back burner being SAHP with two young kids and I'm going to take the time to focus on mental and physical health, my career and actually making the time for myself to do the things I like to do.

I don’t really do resolutions as I find that those are rarely kept, but I decided to try this year. Although I’m starting a little early. I struggle with eating and the More I have to think about eating, the worse it is. So I’m making a meal plan for me, the same meals and snack everyday for a week and then I’ll change it the next week. It’s worked before, I just ended up not being able to afford a different set a of meals for me, so I had to stop for awhile. But I need to work on myself for sure. Also I’d love to start yoga.

I have a few. Not really "resolutions" per say (because I tend to suck at them when I put a formal name on them), but some major goals for 2018.
-Limit drinking during the week -Cut out packaged snacks - big downfall at work because they are provided for us -Pre-plan food for the week and bring more healthy lunches instead of going out -Keep up with my fitness goals - I had a great streak going this past fall...I think 140 consecutive days of reaching my movement goals, but I blew it when I fell asleep on my couch one calorie away. Sigh. I plan to start fresh beginning 1/1 and see how far I can get. -Work on self love and acceptance and practice it daily - I can't believe how much this has helped my mindset this year -Meditate regularly and actually stick to the habit (I go through phases, but have been slacking off recently)
I feel like I have been really doing well with self-care since late summer, but I can tell I am allowing myself more leeway and sliding into some bad habits during the celebration and stress of the holidays. I am going to give myself a little grace (within reason) while visiting my family this weekend and through Christmas, but I am looking forward to a fresh, reenergized start for 2018.

I'm sticking with my current fitness plan, but if I had to go with a resolution, it would be to run more races next year. I would like to do at least 3 or 4, and at least one of those a bit longer, maybe a 10K. +1 I’m planning a 5K in April, and hope to do both a 5K and a 10K in September. I’ll need to find a few more to fill the time in between!

My goal is to run one hundred miles a month. I have been close multiple months. I have a half planned for May and will throw some other races in as well.

Last year I wanted 2017 to be there year of my best body. It didn't exactly work out and I'm sitting at the same weight I was this time at the end of 2016. But I did achieve a huge goal in 2017: I trained for & ran my 1st half marathon (which had been on my bucket list since at least 2014!)
I also started lifting heavy at the gym & I'm progressing at that. I actually really love it.
So 2018: keep lifting heavy. A tangible goal is to get up to 3x12 squatting the bar (right now I'm at 3x5 or 6) then add weights. I plan to focus on nutrition, as well. I'm thinking of starting January with a round of Whole 30 starting Jan 2nd. There is something in my diet that causes excess gas and I really want to get rid of the problem. I think a W30 with re-introducing foods 1 at a time to find the true culprit may help. I just have to psych myself up for it and get a support system together (I think I may have a coworker who will do it with me).

For 2018 I'd like to banish my baby weight forever, ideally I'd be at the goal weight by 12/31/18 if I stick to 1lb/week loss.
A different kind of goal would be to get my piano retuned and practice at least once a week. I have been really slacking and am afraid of losing my skill. I tried sight reading some music this week and it was painful.

This past year I ran 9 races— from 5k’s to half marathons, which gets me automatic entry into the NYC marathon in November of 2018. So that’s my big fitness goal for the upcoming year. I’m creating a training plan and signing up for different races along the way, to keep on track.
Beyond that, I’d like to really be healthier in terms of eating. I’d like to lose weight and I know that the kitchen is key for that.
And I used to have a consistent yoga practice, and that’s stopped. I’d like to get back to that, so that I do some yoga 2-3 Times/ week.

I've never been a fan of resolutions, but I do need to get some goals set for this next year. I started off really strong, and I'd like to get myself to a good spot to do that again this year.

Spend less. Do more.
I need to stop spending on toys and things my daughter doesn't need. I need to get out more, exercise more, have more experiences with her, i.e. do more.

I found the goal setting and weekly check ins with my coach to be the most helpful part of Noom. And then when my Noom membership ended, I started looking into habit tracking. Of course, I’m currently in the middle of the Christmas festivities, but... I was thinking of setting goals and tracking habits here, for accountability, support, and brainstorming.
If you’re interested, the experts recommend SMART goals and practicing no more than five habits at a time. My goals/habits are: To eat produce (fruit or vegetable) every meal Not drink 6 out of 7 days Stretch 10m/day Exercise one- not sure what this is yet

My big goal is weight loss. I’ve structured my running this year to have no long distance races until the Fall so I can focus on losing this first half.
Specific tangible things for January 1) stay in my WW points every day starting 1/2 2) strength training 2 days a week plus yoga one day and 4 runs

I need to lose weight. I did lose last year (I fluctuate a lot but lost somewhere between 35-40 pounds) but I still have a way to go before I reach my ultimate goal. I did really good with food in the first half of 2017 and kind of fell off in the later part of the year.
Ways I plan to stay on track:
Complete 4 W30’s Consistently exercise 6 days/week (just started getting into the exercise habit late this year with BBM so I definitely want to keep that up) Limit alcohol - 2-3 drinks per week - this is going to be the hardest for me. A glass of wine after work is my weakness. I got a planner and want to try meal planning / tracking in there - I think it’ll be helpful for me to write everything out

Hi. I’m here. Is anyone in for this? I plan 8 weeks of habit tracking to start, and I figure I will reevaluate as I go. I’m using HabitBull, but don’t think it matters how anyone wants to track.

thisbitch, I haven’t been online much for the past few weeks, but I’m interested. This aligns better with my New Year goals than WLC does right now.

Yep... I'm basic and my resolutions are weight loss and also dropping the soda habit (both regular and diet)
I'm the heaviest I've ever been non-pregnant and I'm beginning to hate myself and just feel generally so out of shape and unhealthy. I want to feel better and look better.
I treated myself to a 3 month subscription to try out Weight Watchers Freestyle. We'll see how it goes.

Oh and to own up to it... I need to lose around 80 pounds. I would be happy with even 65 pounds to get back to my pre-baby weight, but if I were to lose 80 I'd be at my ultimate "ideal" weight.

I also downloaded Habit Bull and added two habits. I want to track my spending everyday and take out my contacts every night (it never sounds less stupid).
I need to focus on budget this year. I'm hoping for the second half of 2018 I can start worrying about fitness and nutrition again but right now it feels far too big to look at for me.

thisbitch, I just downloaded habit bull to try. I loved that aspect of wlc and keep trying to do it in my bullet journal but can’t keep up since I primarily use that for work and not personal. I’m excited to try it! Thank you :-)
