DD was 6lb 14oz and 19" at birth on 1/19, she's now 12lb 2oz and 22". She is a happy girl and loves to giggle at pattycake and is starting to try to roll back to front. She loves to sit up with lots of help and loves to watch her big sister!

orangecrush our girls are pretty close in size! M is 12.7 lbs and 25 inches (6 lbs 15 oz & 20 inches at birth). She's rolling front to back & back to front, loves sleeping on her belly, and giggles mostly at her big brother. I love seeing the stats at each big appointment - so satisfying to see them grow!

Appointment over! W is still 14lbs 6oz. H didn't catch his length. Our pedi doesn't give growth chart percentages so I have no idea where he lands on it.

E's 6 month appointment was early May, she was 13lbs 14oz I forget her height, but for weight and head circumference she is no longer on the preemie growth chart. She is eating solids, rolls from belly to back and is "talking" a lot lately. She puts her hands in her mouth to play with her tongue to make different sounds.

DS had his 4 month a week ago. He was 15lbs 5oz (was 9lb 2oz at birth) and 26 inches (21.75 inches at birth). He rolls back to front and used to roll front to back but seems to have forgotten how. Now when I set him down he immediately rolls to his belly but then gets mad he can't roll back. It's just so hard to believe that 5 months ago he wasn't even here.

My little bean pole is 14lbs and I forget the length but off the charts long, that was at her 4 month check up at the beginning of the month. She can roll from back to front and can sit up unassisted for a little bit. I love hearing how everyone is doing!

This happened to M too when she started rolling back to belly. It took her a week to remember how to get to back. So annoying!

B was 16lbs 2oz and 25.8inches at his 4 month appointment (7lbs 6oz, 20 inches at birth). I feel like he's so big and chunky, but then I look at the other kids in his daycare class and he looks so small!

My peanut was 11lbs at her 4m visit, 24.5 inches. So still clinging to the bottom of the weight chart. But she is definitely just coming out of a monster growth spurt, and from a quick check at home she is about 12lbs and 25+ inches now. Lots of belly to back rolling, and a couple of back to belly rolls, but not since the weekend. She is super fun and engaging now, though! She also LOVES to be in our jumper, though I try to limit her time since she seems kind of young for it. Also, she is constantly chewing and drooling, but no signs of actual teeth yet. She is super into grabbing her toys and putting them into her mouth.

N was 6.15 at birth and 19.75" long
At 4m & 3d she was 13.10 and 24.25"
She's between 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes, mostly in 3-6 this week but they're big. Size 2 diapers.
Longest sleep 9.5 hours
She is not rolling yet. She can roll onto her side but not over yet. She loves grabbing her feet. Grabs toys. Actually giggles now. Blows raspberries. Can pull her play mat down. Loves watching big brother. Likes to grab my shirt while nursing.

We had our 4 month appointment on Tuesday and Q is 14 lbs 12 oz and 25 inches long. He just started rolling tummy to back and is super talkative.
While at our appointment our doctor recommended letting Q "taste" high allergy foods (egg whites, nut butter, shrimp broth) but to hold off on real food eating till 6 months. Has anyone else been told this? From my research it appears that new studies are suggesting being in contact early on with these foods lessen the risk of developing food allergies but wanted other moms input.

ambiguousmango we'll be incorporating peanut butter and eggs into M's diet as soon as she starts solids at 6 months for that reason. We did the same for DS. The only food he had trouble with was dairy - we tried yogurt around 7 months and it upset his stomach so we waited another month and he did fine with it.

carrots and ellabee see that is what I was thinking but my pediatrician recommend the high allergy stuff even earlier (like now at 4 months) so I am conflicted since I wasn't planning to start solids till 6 months. She seemed pretty adamant about starting those foods now and I do trust her it's just damn being a parent is hard.

I haven't done any research on starting earlier than when we start solids so I don't really have strong feelings on it one way or the other. Our pediatrician recommended starting whenever we start solids and she gave us the ok to start solids anytime between now and 6 months since M has good head control. Sorry your getting conflicting advice - I hate when that happens!

ambiguousmango +1 to all of the above. Last time we introduced high allergy foods when we started solids between 5-6 months (started at 5, he wasn't thrilled, backed off until 6). I haven't heard anything about earlier yet. It's crazy how things change so quickly! Example: with ds we did some skin to skin, they took his stats right away, then they took him to the nursery for a bath while they wheeled me from delivery to maternity. With dd, only 21 months later at the same hospital, it was at least an hour of mandatory skin to skin, stats were take later, and no baby baths for the first 6-8 hours (for temperature regulation purposes).

Lakes wow that is a lot of change in a short time. Since Q is my first I am having ALL the mom guilt and second-guessing. I think I am going to ponder on it a little longer but am leaning towards letting him "taste" the foods.

Birth: 6 lb, 13 oz 19.75 in
4 month: 13 lb, 1 oz 23.5 in
Rolled over once randomly, but not since. SO many adorable smiles. Spits/blow raspberries, can grasp one of the "netted" rubber rattle ball thingies, let go and pick it back up. Still has a pretty wobbly head/neck, but can lift it really well when on her tummy.

@ambiguoismango I read an article that suggested that as well, I wish I could remember the source. I was also going to wait until 6 months for any foods but that's interesting she recommended that.
Maybe start a thread on the infant board!

I think I am going to ponder on it a little longer but am leaning towards letting him "taste" the foods. Whatever you decide is the right decision. I remember with DD it felt like if I made the wrong choice I was going to mess her up for LIFE! Honestly, looking back now, I stressed out way too much about everything. She's now a happy, healthy 3 year old and she would probably still be that way even if I had made different choices. Parenting is really hard. (I hope that didn't come across as me trying to downplay your feelings. I totally understand the mom guilt and the second-guessing. I still do it myself. I was just trying to make you feel better. Like in a couple years from now it won't matter if he had his first food at 4 months or 6 months or somewhere in between.)
