Speaking of nieces...or nephews...would this be a good time to mention my sister is expecting? I've been sitting on my hands b/c I didn't want to jinx them, but they're starting to tell people. Their first round of IVF took and she's due July 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This may be worse. Right now I'm wearing a top I ordered for my niece but when it arrived I thought it looked like it wouldn't fit her. It happens to fit me perfectly though so...
I did the same thing. ha. I ordered my niece 2 shirts to choose from, 1 an XL girls and one and XS women's. Apparently XL girls is much larger than XS ladies. I tried it on and contemplated keeping it.

We are all so thrilled and it's been hard keeping it on the DL--only immediate family has known--but after her m/c and the whole IVF process she was understandably nervous. I want to find *just a little something* for the baby for Christmas. I'll keep it under control

I saw this precious embroidered blanket at a giftshop the other day with a Bible verse from Samuel, "For this child I have prayed..." and I got goosebumps. I might go back for that. For starters

MH is leaving school early to go to a doctors appointment. He has no idea how to get there. He's been seeing this dr. for 7 years, and he's been working at the school for 12. He also gets super short with me on the phone bc he'll ask, but won't listen to me give directions. I know it aggravates him to not be able to understand how to get from point A to B, but try getting out of your own way and paying attention to the things I'm saying. I'm keeping it 4 yr old simple. We really are life twins. MH apparently can be dropped in the middle of war zone desert Afghanistan and find his way back home but can't make it to a clinic on 153 street, when our city (that he has lived in for almost 20 years) is on a grid. I usually drive everywhere.
I am your husbands. I'm horrible with directions. My in-laws have lived in the same house since I've known them (8 years). It's 15min from our house and literally 2 turns. I map it every time because I end up lost if I don't. MH can't believe I haven't got it down yet.

flamingo , how exciting! I've been wondering if she'd get pregnant soon. I didn't realize they were going through fertility treatments. When is she due?? July 1. When they hit the 1-year mark they decided to see a specialist. LSS their chances of getting pregnant naturally were super slim, there were some issues on both sides. Fortunately the first round of IVF worked And yes, they're going to find out the sex. I. Cannot. Wait!

My sister and BIL have a 2 year old, 1 month old and just opened a restaurant like 1.5 months ago. Both kids are sleeping horribly, my BIL has been working INSANE hours and my sister had her first day back to work 5 days after giving birth. They're beyond exhausted and the 2 year old is acting....well, like a 2 year old who has had a ton of changes. I want to do something for them, but not sure what. I have the 2 year old today so my sister can run errands and spend time with the baby, but I can't think of anything else to do for them.

MH also thinks I'm insane because I wrap everything inside of the stocking. A habit leftover from my mom, I guess. The first year we were together he thought it was so strange that he was unwrapping Chapstick and beard oil. My MIL wraps everything in the stockings too. I always thought it was weird. She doesn’t do stockings for us or the kids (actually she never did one for me, just DH). What's weird is that she only does one for yh and not you and the kids...

She better slow down; hormones, healing, newborn, sleep deprivation, restaurant stress are all ingredients for a crash, poor girl.
Back to the question, house cleaner, grocery delivery, or send tgrimes there to make freezer meals

I just realized my parents never gave DH a birthday present. They normally do (or at least a card), plus it was his 30th, so I'm really surprised and a little hurt. My brother and sister both gave him a gift at N's party, along with his parents and his sister. My parents were there and saw them give him gifts and we've seen them several times since his birthday. They have really become flakey lately and are known not to call and say happy birthday to us kids and the grandkids. My sister gets really upset by it and I'm starting to notice it more too. boo.

What's weird is that she only does one for yh and not you and the kids... My mom just stopped stockings last year, but would just do one for me and not the kids. When I got married she pinned a little tag to it that said, "and (MH's name)". So the stocking was for both of us. I never thought it was weird! She mostly does candy, gum, scratch off lottery tickets, mini bottles of wine, ect.

Seriously! She's always been an amazing sleeper, seriously amazing, so they're definitely thrown off by her sleep issues! Fortunately (unfortunately? Haha) they're going back and forth between his mom's house and my parent's house, so they do get a lot of help with the household stuff at least.

Yikes. I just made the mistake of calculating how much I've spent on Christmas shopping (which is what any smart person should keep track of)... holy buckets. I don't think I'm too out of line, but I just don't like seeing 1 big number!

wineallthetime , I'm 30 next year. But I know my sister still gets gifts. I'll have to ask her if they give my BIL anything. Thinking about it more.. I don't that he's every gotten a wrapped present, but usually a card with maybe a gift card. I don't know that they even acknowledged his birthday this year. My mom asked me what our plans were, but not even a "tell yh happy birthday!"
