Oh my goodness trtlcrzy, what a night! Hopefully you feel better today. Clearly, no more dusting for you. I mean that’s the only logical answer. DH has to dust from now on (yeah right).

Oh that I never get, only random stuff goes in stockings for us - candy, knit knacks, orange, makeup. All nice presents are under the tree. I see "stocking stuffer" ads for jewelry and it doesn't make sense to me. You do an orange too?!? I love it! We always got an apple in the toe of our stockings. I'll keep up the tradition!

Santa has a paper for us. And I like to wrap so I don't miss any reactions. I'm trying to have Santa only bring a couple toys bc I'm worried about kids comparing what santa brought. So each us getting 2 from Santa this year, anything else is from us. Are you having your kids get people presents? Or siblings get each other gifts? C had a secret Santa shop at school so we had him pick out presents for us, L and the grandparents. He is being very tight lipped about them, so no clue what he picked (I'm sure it's all junk). Maddie's former preschool, now Cassie's preschool does this too. I love seeing the foolishness they pick out. It's actually my favorite gift to open.

All of this stocking talk has me wondering. We do our stockings last. What about you guys? We do stockings first. I didn’t go crazy this year. Both girls are getting the candy canes full of m&ms, H is getting a magnetic toy I got in the dollar spot at target and a LOL ball. S is getting some rubber duckies and a stuffed mini belle doll. I might get H some chap stick too.

My mom added her credit card to my prime account to buy something she couldn't find on her amazon. Well A apparently never checks the payment method and she never checks her credit card statement... We owe her $465.42 that A has ordered since November 1st. This day has been full of "fun" surprises like that.

We wrap everything in the stocking as well guster. We never did stockings growing up but MH and his family did them and we just started a couple years ago, I LOVE IT! It took a me a while to get the hang of what to put in there because I always overspend and want to give get big amazing gifts but the essentials are fun. We have a stocking for my Mom as well because B was not ok with Baba not having one, so we took it to her the first year a couple years back and she had no idea what was happening, then the year after she started and I think she's on board now. Except MH always gives me anti aging facial masks in my stocking and it was hilarious, but now it's an essential, because kids.

MH also thinks I'm insane because I wrap everything inside of the stocking. A habit leftover from my mom, I guess. The first year we were together he thought it was so strange that he was unwrapping Chapstick and beard oil. My MIL wraps everything in the stockings too. I always thought it was weird. She doesn’t do stockings for us or the kids (actually she never did one for me, just DH).

We do stockings last. Usually a little later after we eat breakfast. We do want, need, wear, read, 1 (unwrapped) Santa gift and stockings. I worry about kids comparing so the Santa gift is good but not always their best gift. This is the first year they really get it. When we saw Santa on Saturday, Matthew went right up to him and said "I want a giant excavator" as we were leaving he said "AH! We forgot our excavators!" I'm like uh.. Thats not how it works! Lol.

My friend dropped off her little boy 45 minutes ago and the kids haven’t stopped running since. H keeps telling him to follow her and what to do. It’s funny. I realized I couldn’t take more Claritin because it’s 12 hour so I had to take children’s zyrtec because it’s the only other allergy med in the house. It’s working pretty well, so if you’re in a pinch it’s ok to use.
Our santa gifts are always wrapped, and both girls only get 1 each from him (along with the stockings). We got them 4 each aside from that. Last year I wrapped santa gifts in special paper, but I accidentally already wrapped S’s santa gift so either I leave it as is or I have to re-wrap so I think I’m leaving it.

Stockings first.
Santa gifts wrapped in special paper unless they are too much of a bulky nightmare and instead slap a bow on it.
Stockings are brought down from the mantle and set in front of the pile for the appropriate child.
Stockings consist of basic small things, don't need to be stuffed full, and hell no to wrapping stocking gifts.
* Kids can go downstairs and check out the goods before parents wake but only by peeking in stocking and shaking gifts but must wait for parents for anymore activity. *disclaimer, this is all in theory as my kids haven't beat me up on Christmas morning yet. I may be playing Nintendo Christmas morning anxiously waiting for them to wake up.

Josie didn't finish opening her presents last Christmas. She also didn't finish on her birthday. I don't have high hopes for this year either.

Morning. Waiting on MH to get home so I can go vote before I go in to work. I hope it's not too busy of a day. I have more online christmas shopping to do for family members. I just want to be done already. I’m done except for my father. It’s driving me nuts that I can’t just find a good gift for him! One of this genetic ancestry tests?

In regards to sibling gifts, Cass got Maddie something at her school and that prompted Maddie to ask about getting gifts for family members from her. I reminded her that we already got dad a gift from her and Cass (I'll have to see if I took a pic before I wrapped it, every year we do handprint paintings at the pottery place), but I'll see if I can find time to take her shopping to get a little something for Cass. This will be the first year doing this and Maddie is 6.

Morning! B seems to be feeling better so hopefully we can get out and run an errand or two today. I’m getting a little cabin-feverish. I think my Christmas shopping is 99% done—I need to order one small thing for my H and get him a couple more stocking stuffers. Kids are done, Santa is done. My problem is, I keep shopping for myself 😳 We are the same.

Santa's gifts were not wrapped last year, but this year they will be. He loves unwrapping stuff, so i'm changing it. I just hate putting things together on Christmas day. I saved some big boxes so I can maybe put some things together and wrap them in a different box.
I never wrapped stocking gifts, but I may change that this year, too.

We really are life twins. MH apparently can be dropped in the middle of war zone desert Afghanistan and find his way back home but can't make it to a clinic on 153 street, when our city (that he has lived in for almost 20 years) is on a grid. I usually drive everywhere.

Hey, you wouldn't want her to have to go thru the trouble of exchanging it, etc. You are very thoughtful, Aunt Bethany.
