I'm shocked neither of mine are on the list. Of course McConnell is.

Peekaru And that's why the GOP isn't doing anything to really stop 45; they're getting their agenda through while everyone is focused on him. They're going to keep letting him do whatever the fuck he wants until it truly gets to the point where they have to act. If we're lucky, it will be sooner rather than later.

And Pence is wondering why the Left is so concerned about climate change. Must be nice to live in a world without science or facts.

Not exactly politics related, but given this administration ignoring LGBT pride month, I heard this morning that the LA Rams will be the first NFL team to hold a LGBT pride event. It made me happy.

The fact that Trump has discussed his conversations with Comey in public (on Twitter FFS) *should* be enough to waive executive privilege, but a judge would have to enforce that.

There is actually an evangelical movement to understand climate change from a Biblical perspective. Like, God gave us this planet and we're morally obligated to take care of it. (Also: if we don't we die. But.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Interesting! I didn't know that, thanks for sharing. There's a really awesome evangelical group that has been very outspoken about being against 45. sojo.net/Their main focus is on justice (in terms of race, religion, sexual orientation, wealth, etc.), but that also encompasses the climate since the effects of climate change disproportionately affect the poorer nations. I doubt anyone who subscribes to their magazine (such as myself) is a 45 supporter, but I just wanted to throw it out there that generally held beliefs among members of a religion like "God created the planet" don't necessarily lead to the conclusions "Evolution isn't real" or "God wouldn't let the planet be destroyed." I do get that a lot of 45's supporters do draw those conclusions, though, and that's part of what makes me so angry.

Interesting. NY AG Schneiderman is investigating Exxon for discrepencies between its public and internal figures on CO2 emissions. Things are about to get bumpy for Tillerson.

"He’d know that the Athenians adopted the same amoral tone he embraces: “The strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.” The Athenians ended up making endless enemies and destroying their own empire." If you don't learn from the past you are doomed to repeat it.

What the heck is going on in Illinois? Can we get a thread for this? Does anyone want to give a summary of what's going on? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I'm on my way to the closing on our house (which yeah that downgraded credit rating was great to read the night before we buy the forever home!) so I can't do it right now. If someone else wants to great, otherwise I will later today. Very short answer is that both groups ideologically disagree and no one will compromise. And our governor is a mini Trump. That might be an unfair explanation but he's a millionaire businessman who claimed he could turn IL around. That doesn't sound familiar at all now does it? I'm also in IL and GDI it's a mess. MH has been lobbying hard the last 5 years to get us to move but I really don't want to. He might win. I hate when he wins. But he wants to go to Texas. Congrats on the new house!
