I voted for Bernie in the primary because his platform was more in line with my beliefs and it inspired me. I voted for Hilary in the election because her platform was certainly more in line with my beliefs than Trump's and her foreign policy experience was far and away the strongest of any candidate on the campaign trail. I knew she would be a strong president...this is something I never doubted.
I feel as though I made informed decisions based on the information available to me from an aggregate of sources. I didn't vote for a man because he was a man, or vote for some sort of ideological America...I voted for who I thought would best represent me.
Why others can't do this is baffling to me. I know so many people who voted for Trump who are good, kind, thoughtful people who just simply didn't have the energy, time, or resources to properly inform themselves. Some likely can't be bothered. Information shouldn't come from your Facebook feed, Fox News, or the Today show alone.
Also if I see another comment from anyone about how liberal the media is I might lose it. Our media is NOT liberal. It is funded 100 percent through advertising dollars and its entire purpose is to make money. How an institution that exists solely for profit can ever be liberal is baffling to me. Even NPR/PBS is exploding with corporate sponsors. I am not saying that this automatically makes all of our media outlets corrupt necessarily, but to say the media is full of fake news because it is so liberal is laughable to me.
Oh and hi!!!! I've had a rough few weeks but I am back and caught up on this thread at least. How are all my people??? I missed you guys!!!!
