I figure we are due for a new randoms thread. Anyone have any plans for the solar eclipse? Also - addymac - I hope you are holding a cute little baby right now! Feel free to update us whenever you have a chance - but no rush. Enjoy those baby cuddles and this special time 😀😊

muscari I was thinking the same thing! Being on the other side of the world from the eclipse, it was just another normal day over here. My family back in the states said it was kind of underwhelming where they were...it was cloudy, so they couldn't really see the eclipse itself. Plus, it didn't get super dark - just stormy looking outside. Makes me feel less sad that I missed out! How are you feeling? You're almost full term by now, right? I'll be 32 weeks on Friday and I am feeling pretty huge. Getting out of bed is now a rocking and rolling process...😬😂😩

I'm here doing my 3 hour gtt. Blah. Just trying to get through it without getting sick. I didn't pass the 1 hour but I'm hopeful to pass the 3 hour.

I'm sending positive vibes and hoping you pass the 3 hr test. I really hate the glucose test. Over here, they make you drink this sugary salty sludge that has no flavoring and it's so condensed, it's almost syrupy. 🤢 I hope you make it through without getting sick and that the time passes quickly!

Taitai thanks! I'm through the worst of it. My blood sugar is starting to calm down so I'm starting to feel better. I had a choice of orange or fruit punch lol. But they still don't taste good!

grumpycat- hope you passed your 3hr! Ugh why does that stuff have to taste SO bad?! Taitai how are you doing? My solar eclipse day was not- I never even looked outside the window because I was snuggling my baby boy! Noah Marquez was born 8/20 @ 4:53am weighing 8 lbs 8.2 oz and 21 inches long! Here's his complete birth story: (warning, I am not good at short stories, haha) howeverithappened.proboards.com/thread/5353/littlemacs-birth-storyToday is his follow up appt so we will see how things are going! I am doing better after a really rough first few days. DH was totally against pacifiers, but he finally gave in yesterday and things have been so much easier now because Baby doesn't need me for soothing. Thank goodness. I was falling apart with hourly feeds and now he's been better.

addymac Congratulations!!!!! Omg - your DS is adorable. He is perfect in every way 😍❤️😍. I was thinking about you and hoping for everything to turn out okay. How scary about the retained placenta and hemorrhage at the end though. I'm honestly scared of that happening to me. My mom had a retained placenta and I've researched that a bunch. So glad they got everything under control. Also - not cool about the slacking on pain meds for the postpartum nursing staff! Good that your DH and OB advocated for you! Enjoy those baby snuggles, and know that the first weeks are crazy. It will get better - especially once you get in more of a routine and the hormones settle down. I broke down in tears a lot the first week with DS, but it got better. Congrats again - love the name and that pic is just so adorable!

Hi! I'm late but I did get to look briefly at the the solar eclipse , partial eclipse where I was. Because nutmeg brought my eclipse glasses to the hospital since she is awesome. My baby was born 8/20. My recovery room window was facing the correct direction. I got lucky How awesome is that!

I was 40w5d when I last responded.. babygirl was set to be evicted the next day but didn't take to kindly to her eviction notice hah and decided to make her way to the exit on her own the day before. 😋 I just posted a seperate post with a pic 😊

I'm still around! My problem is that I always forget to check this board unless I get a notification from tapa that someone posted. 34 weeks tomorrow and baby is still cooking. 😀 Unfortunately, he turned breech sometime between 31 and 33 weeks 😩. I am really really hoping he gets back on track and turns head down by 36 weeks. I had a vaginal birth for DS and was hoping for the same for DS2...but I know it will be fine if I have to get a CS due to the baby being breech. It just wasn't what I had envisioned. Also, I feel so huge and basically like below....

I'm here mostly hanging out on my bmb and have been reading books. Nothing amazing, sadly. Decorating for the fall and putting together furniture for the baby.

Taitai how are you doing yourself? ☺ Feeling pretty big, but I'm not still only 34.5 weeks! Someone asked me what my due date the other day was, and when I said there was still about 5 weeks to go, he got this horrified look on his face. 😅😭. I have had such bad stretching pains and it feels like the baby is trying to tear his way out of here. I am at risk for PPROM, so I am just hoping my waters hold to 37 weeks. That is the big goal! 2.5 more weeks to go kiddo....you can do it! How is your little baby doing??? The first weeks are crazy, but I hope things are going okay! ETA: hit post too soon.

Taitai I am so glad to read you still have an inside baby, that is great!! I hope baby stays put another couple of weeks at least 🤞🤞 Sorry about the stretching pains and feeling huge. At like 37-38 wks I was sure I couldnt get any bigger but ahh I sure did haha. AFM those first weeks are indeed crazy and pretty rough at times but whenever I see her cute little face I just melt and nothing else matters.. 😍😊 BFing is harder then I thought tho!! Esp since I struggle with getting my supply up to par with d's demands.. but it is getting better and we only had to supplement with formula a cple times this past 1.5 wk. She just went thru growth spurt and now is getting ready for her first leap so i bet there are fun times ahead lol 😲😊
