The Secret Service has been planning out what they'll do if Trump is held in contempt for violating his gag order.

I doubt he actually gets remanded to custody for violating the gag order, but if he does, I'm assuming it will be some kind of house arrest with no electronic devices or access to press. No way he gets put in a cell, even though he belongs in one for so many things. (I know prosecution is currently just asking for a fine.)

I do not envy that judge. Secret Service needs to be protecting him.

I hope that judge has a security detail of his own because Lord knows he's going to need one, and likely regardless of ruling, knowing how MAGAs are.

Not sure if anyone else is following this story but a Dem state Senator here was arrested for 1st degree burglary of her stepmother's home. She drove over 4 hours in the middle of the night and broke into her house at 4:00 AM wearing all black. She was found with two laptops that didn't belong to her. She admitted she did something bad, and said she just wanted a few things of her late father's because her stepmother wouldn't talk to her anymore. She told the cops that the things she wanted were a flannel shirt, his ashes, photos and some other sentimental items.

She went to her public FB page and made a statement that she received information that her stepmother (she just says "a relative" in the statement) had some medical issues that concerned her so she went to "check on her", which caused the stepmother to experience "paranoia" and escalated the situation to what it is. She denies stealing anything.

It is a weird case because clearly, she knew what she was doing was wrong and stated so, and it was obviously a planned break-in since she drove there in the middle of the night dressed in all black. At the same time, I do feel sympathy for her because it sounds like this was an act of desperation after being denied some things she wanted to remember her father, and that she and her stepmother don't have a great relationship, whether due to dementia/age issues/whatever. But then to just flat out deny it when the criminal complaint is public is...not a great look. It is tricky too because we only have a one seat majority in our Senate and naturally Republicans are salivating for her to resign. Though I'm fairly certain her seat would end up in another Dem's hands based on her district. But who knows, it is a district that probably has more red than other areas. I'm supremely frustrated, just like, REALLY?

The UN is calling for an investigation into mass graves found at two hospitals in Gaza.

The United Nations called Tuesday for “a clear, transparent and credible investigation” of mass graves uncovered at two major hospitals in war-torn Gaza that were raided by Israeli troops.

Credible investigators must have access to the sites, U.N. spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters, and added that more journalists need to be able to work safely in Gaza to report on the facts.

Earlier Tuesday, U.N. human rights chief Volker Türk said he was “horrified” by the destruction of the Shifa medical center in Gaza City and Nasser Hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis as well as the reported discovery of mass graves in and around the facilities after the Israelis left.

He called for independent and transparent investigations into the deaths, saying that “given the prevailing climate of impunity, this should include international investigators.”
