I would be forever turned off by my husband if he thought getting a vasectomy meant he didn't have to do anything for 30 days. Man child much? Right?!?! the vasectomy would be unnecessary at that point. 🙅🏻♀️

So first thing yesterday morning when I was going to the bathroom, I felt a little tickle on my shin. For some reason I raised my leg out in front of me instead of just bending down to scratch and I am so thankful I did. There was this big fuzzy bug crawling up my leg. Naturally I shrieked and kicked my leg to get it off me. When I composed myself I realized it was a bumblebee.
Now, I am allergic to bees (I've been stung twice by dying honey bees and the second time my hand where I was stung swelled up for a month) so I texted my husband for help. I didn't want to kill the bee, just relocate her with some sugar water because she was just crawling around on the ground and not flying, which points to exhaustion. So we relocated her outside under the eaves of our garage with some sugar water in hopes she'd fly off once she regained her strength.
Checking on her a few hours later and she's still there. Unfortunately we're in the midst of several days of rain and the temps were hovering around 50°, which is the minimum they like (need?) to fly off. I realized she might have more luck if we moved her to the lavender plant on the front porch, so we did that next hoping that would do the trick.
Night is closing in and she's still there, barely moving and we have lots of wind and rain in the forecast for the next day (today). My H remembered that we have a mushroom shaped plastic bug house so we put her in that (still with access to sugar water) and then bring her inside because I'm thinking there's no way she'll survive in the weather that's coming.
Well of course she warms up and starts buzzing around furiously trying to get out of her cage and now I feel so incredibly guilty because we basically have a pet bee for the next however many days. 😬
She's calmer today but I still feel terrible and my H thinks I'm spending way too much concern on a insect, but I can't help it, it's just who I am.The plan is obviously to release her as soon as it's a bit warmer and less dramatically wet to give her a chance to get back to where she belongs. But until then my girls are wildly entertained by the bumblebee and I'm hoping she doesn't die before it's safe to release her. 🐝

I dont understand when people ask for tips how to drink more water. Like just drink it? I don't get it. There is no other way than to drink it? Unless you're getting an IV you can't just magically absorb it somehow, there is no trick I can kind of understand thid bc it affects my mother. For one thing, she was a teacher for almost 40 years and had become accustomed to drinking very little water bc teachers can't just go to the restroom and such (this is a thing -- a lady I taught with's nephrologist told her that teachers keep him in business). For another thing, she hates the taste of water. Still, sparkling, filtered, bottled, you name it. So she subsists on tea. I drink a ton of water, always bring water with me, sip on it all day without thinking about it but she just....doesn't. Unless she gets thirsty and then...tea. And it isn't as easy to lug a travel mug of tea around as a water bottle.

I was teasing my 7th grade daughter about how she and her friends use weird nonsense slang that don't actually mean what the actual words mean. Coquette, preppy, etc. Than I remembered that I talked like an extra in Clueless when I was in high school. As if!

My 12 year old drives me nuts with everything being a "life hack" lol. It seems like her and her friends favorite phrase right now We are deep in talking about our "crush" right now. Baby girl, you're 7. Calm down. (I don't say that, I just nod politely)

Apparently one of the new it phrases is Only in Ohio Which the kids here think is hilarious. But no. Everyone else is saying it outside of Ohio too. We're a meme joke if it makes you feel better here in Portugal Florida is still the main butt of American jokes. 😂

This is probably flameworthy. My daughter's finals are the week of June 10-14, but her last day of school is not until June 25.
She is getting surgery on her knees. We decided to have her miss the last 1.5 weeks of school and have the surgery right after finals week. She can't have it before then because she is on 2 dance teams and has 8 separate dances to do per recital. And we want her to enjoy as much of her summer, so we decided she can miss school after finals.

Sometimes Texas too, but mostly Florida.

I have had a couple friends whose Hs tried similar, and I feel it’s a reflection on their (the men’s) characters and the way they have contributed to parenting/relationship overall. I feel very “I said what I said” about that statement, no notes. Very much this. Barring a legitimate medical condition that for some reason prohibits a vasectomy, I think men who won't but want to be done having kids are trash.

elle is going to be making a whole house for this bee and be crestfallen when it can't live alone. So then she'll turn into an allergic to bees beekeeper so this bee has a family

A friend of H’s apparently convinced his wife (and H) that the big snip has a full 30 day on the couch/fully helpless recovery period. I laughed in H’s face and am debating messaging the wife that recovery** is about 48 hours of taking it easy, Motrin, and a few bags of frozen peas. However getting involved in the inner workings of another relationship feels dicey. **absent complications Edited to complete my thoughts My husband was doing more than that within a week of appendicitis! 😂

A TikTok came up on my FYP yesterday and it was a clip from Black-ish when the dad lied about getting a vasectomy and then gave this whole speech about what happens if the wife dies, and he wants to have more kids and it was just so gross. He was like but it's my manhood and they are going CUT IT and so much ick.

I’m three days in with my second foster dog since starting back up with fostering and I’m 98% sure I’ll be foster failing/ keeping her. She’s so amazing. Luckily I have some time to decide since she’s not available for adoption just yet (needs to be spayed still). I of course did not plan this and really want to just keep fostering to save lives. But…selfishly I already don’t want to not have her in my life.
Now just to get the rest of the family on board when they get home.

My kid brought home one of those hidden pictures from Highlights magazine. I’ve spent the last 3 days trying to find a hidden banana and chicken in the picture and it’s driving me nuts. I’ve googled to try to find the answer but the stupid picture is from 2010 and I can’t find the answers. Its really making me mad.

The real confession is that DD told me one of the kids in her class was really good at the hidden pictures. So I had DD ask him via messenger kids where the banana and chicken are in the picture.
He doesn’t know where they are. I feel better about myself but also annoyed that I still don’t know where they are.

Speaking of milking medical procedures. I have a liver biopsy in late April and plan to milk that. Part of that is my husband is a good nurse and part of that is I just need attention.

I can’t believe she had 6! She’s such a little love and I’m used to having seniors so I’ve been having fun watching her run laps around the backyard.
