I'm sure someone has an unpopular opinion or confession as juicy as bringing pizza as a snack to a sports practice. Let's go!

The Thrown of Glass series was only ok and Kingdom of Ash was not a weepfest. The FMC was annoying
I know that’s neither super controversial or juicy but it seems like a bookstagram UO. Sorry

Whenever a book series is really popular my nature is to distrust the reviews and assume I wouldn't like it.
I would say 50% of the time I do actually end up reading and liking the series. The other 50% I hate read it and wonder how so many people could like it.

Speaking of terrible books, some of my 6YO’s favorite books are so bad that I am so glad he’s now reading them on his own and I don’t have to read them to him anymore. They really got him into reading so I’m grateful but the writing was so bad.

One time I read an entire book to him and he asked what the shimmering something or other creatures were and I had zero idea. I was like “you know they’re like…” and then I made a shimmering hand gesture and then thank goodness he said “oh yea, I remember”.

I can read the words out loud and retain zero information. Sometimes I’ll fall asleep for a few seconds and wake up and resume reading. 😅

I think the Dragon Masters series is maybe better but I haven’t had to read any of them. Although I’m actually off to read a special edition book about all the characters because I lied and acted like I was interested in learning about the series. 😅

I don't like fantasy stuff. I see people reading books like A Tapestry of Wind and Steel or whatever (all the titles sound the same) and I'm just like, I love it for you.

My only gripe with books is when they are written in 1st person. I’ve read really good books and fanfic in 1st person, but it’s not a preference of mine.

They all follow a similar formula, so that gets a little repetitive

Sorry I thought ACOTAR was boring and ACOMAF wasn’t much better, despite so many people insisting book 2 was worth reading book 1 for. People gush over those books but just not for me. However, I have trouble not finishing a series, so I may eventually go back and read the rest lol.

I just won't read them. I don’t need to know every single inner thought of the main characters. I prefer it if I didn’t bc I’m a sucker for angst.
