75 minute live PZE with Wilper’s this morning. 6 zone 3 intervals: 7,7,9,9,7,7 minutes. Zone 2 recoveries in between. Challenging but doable. There was some good music in there! The second to last song was Cranberries, which kind of made me laugh, but I was also like, “Yes! This is our montage song!” And I imagined I was in some sort of race movie. PR by over 30 points!

Morning.
45 minute EDM run with Becs 10 minute chest and back with Callie 5 minute core with RK 5 minute stretch with Camila
Foam rolling for sure tonight, and yoga.
I'm beat. I took that run very conservatively for the most part and walked all the recoveries. I've been sleeping like crap. This up and down weather is wrecking my sinuses, which has also given me a hacking cough for the last week and I'm over it. It was mid 50s and sunny yesterday, today is 40 and raining, tomorrow is below freezing and snow. Fucking stupid.
Food should be fine. I did tell DS I'd take him to the gourmet cookie store in town since H took the girls on a coffee date this morning. So I will have a fancy cookie, but it's very worth it.

I ended up doing my 10k race tonight. It was intentionally in the dark to bring awareness to the violence female athletes face while doing their sport outside. It sucked because it was raining and muddy and people were wiping out left and right. Probably not the safest conditions all in all 😆 My goal this year is to run a sub 50-minute 10k and I ran tonight’s in 52 minutes. All in all I’m really happy with that considering the time of day and conditions. And now, a beer!

My PR is 52:02 but that was from 2018 when I PRed every distance. I'm not as fast as the moment, so maybe someday. So I'll be cheering you on!!

I did a 45min English subtitled race prep (ie hills, ugh) run with Tobias today. My first non English class, and it was good! He sprinkles in some English but I was generally able to figure out what he was saying, even without the subtitles. Not my favourite music genre (EDM) but all in all I liked it. Going to try for long run either tomorrow or Tuesday night, depending on kid activities. Race is two weeks from tomorrow 😱

cnf I don’t have one planned yet but was actually looking this morning. I have a half scheduled for the beginning of June. I’m keeping my eye out for a smallish race in the next few months because the bigger ones are already sold out. What about you? Anything planned?

Other than the half I deferred last year in October, I've got nothing. I've been keeping my eyes open though for some local 5k and 10k races. I'd like to do a few this summer and fall if I can.

Sundays are for cycling. And my leg goes wanted some recovery today, so that's what they got.
5 minute warm up ride with Irene 15 minute house ride with Hannah F 20 minute recovery ride with Jess King 5 minute core with Emma 5 minute stretch with Emma
Yoga tonight.
No audio issues on that Hannah ride. And that core class is getting bookmarked for sure. It's an old one from 2019 and even though it's just listed as core, Emma repeatedly talks about it being a DR recovery class. It's perfect for days when I don't feel like a burner class because I'm beat but still want to squeeze in my daily core. Lots of breath work and small, deep muscle movements. Loved it.
I need to clean and food prep today. Bleh.

30 minute PZ ride with Wilpers and a 10 minute focused flow (hips) with Aditi for me today. I really liked the ride format— warm up and then blocks with 30 seconds in zone 3, 15 in zone 5, repeat for the whole ride.

Having the weekend “off” if you consider chasing a toddler around the fields for several hours at a time off, must have done wonders for me. I had a great OTF class.
It was one of the toughest templates I have ever experienced, but I enjoyed it. Base pace inclines in the tread are my favorite. But so many burpees- whyyyyy.

Well it’s Monday. After resting the weekend (the aforementioned cold now with pink eye) MH and I went out for a run today.
TW TW
it was much needed after he ended up assisting with a very serious medical event that happened to a student at school drop off (thankfully the student seemed ok enough and is currently getting high level care)
Anyway we’re a bit shaken up so it was good to be out in the sun feeling the very brisk wind. The run itself sucked. But it’s done and I’m back to it. Transitioning this week into triathlon training.

beepers glad you were able to get out together - moving outside always helps! 2.5 miles with the family on Saturday, and then a solid 3 mile (muddy) hike yesterday. Today, I got up and did 30 minutes of yoga live, and will go for a walk later today.

I'm finally here. March has come in like a lion for me as I came down with a nasty head cold with the never-ending cough for the past few weeks and basically wanted to sleep when I wasn't fumbling my way through work. So no workouts other than listening to meditations before naps or bedtime to get my pesky dot. I was so annoyed as February had been going so well for me with consistent strength workouts and running and really getting back in the groove. For March (what's left of it LOL), I want to stick to my goals of 4 strength workouts/week, 3 runs/week with continuing on with the None to Run program, and one active recovery day where I'm going to do yoga and dip my toe back in (pun intended) doing some ballet classes. I'd like to use the next several months to do online and look seriously at joining an adult beginners class this fall. I even got some dance attire to inspire me - leotards, skirt, tights, slippers, and also some ridiculous but super cute sneakers that look like pointe shoes because how could I not? I can use a lot of this for Barre classes, too. I got back at it today and started Rebecca's 4-day split. Only one workout in, so too early to tell if I'll like it until I finish one round, but it is so nice having some real rest time - a whole minute between sets which seems like forever compared to Ben's paltry 15-30 seconds. I dialed back on the weights from where I left off with TSY2 since I haven't worked out in a little over two weeks. Plenty of time to up them in the coming weeks. - 30 min Upper Body Strength with Rebecca - 5 min Upper Body Stretch with Ross *Off to catch up on the thread!

Finally did an upper body workout with Adrian yesterday. I'm off today and planning to find a fun, chill ride.
I got on to build my stack yesterday and realized that I somehow let go of a 110 week Peloton streak last week. I about cried over a dumb app. I've done SOMETHING in there every week, but I guess I just missed it last week. Fucking finals.

February was pretty good for me. March will be a little different cause Ramadan started yesterday, so I'm just going to do less during the day because I can't drink water and don't want to overdo it. Luckily the days are shorter now so it's only a 13 hr fast, and I can get a decent walk (or a live class on the tread) right before iftar. That's why I did yesterday for Marcel's comeback run because the timing was perfect. Otherwise, some of my workouts will just have to be way later in the evening depending on what I'm up for.
On Sunday I did my 1,000th ride with Ben! No shout out which I admit I was a little salty about being that I put it off forever just to time it right and take it with him lol. But it's all good, ofc they are not guaranteed, it's just one of those things only us Pelotoners will understand.

My daughter signed up for the Girls on the Run program and is super excited. I overheard her telling all her friends how happy she is that she gets to run. She gets to do a 5K in May. We went and got shoes and she picked out Hoka Clifton 9... I was just at the cost of those shoes even for kids lol. But I'm very excited for her excitement about it!

Yesterday I got in a final 20 minute ride with Tunde— last ride for a few weeks. I had the surgery on my foot this morning. I just had local anesthesia so I was awake the whole time. They were playing Coldplay in the OR and it felt very Grey’s Anatomy. The doctor took a bunch of photos to show her residents/ fellows because she said there haven’t been a lot of surgeries using this procedure on the posterior tibial tendon, and it was also really unusual to see so much damage to that tendon, and have everything else in the foot be super healthy. I ended up not doing the shockwave therapy before, but she said she will probably recommend that I do it in a couple months, t9 help with healing.
Icing and resting for the rest of the day.
