I know people are being lost left and right, but Wael Dahdouh’s journalist son, Hamza, was just killed. Wael has endured so much and is still reporting. He literally survived an airstrike recently. I will never forget the video of him carrying his baby grandson who passed.
There’s so much despair. I have no words.

Motaz is evacuating Gaza! I’m so happy he will be safe. I gasped when I saw this today. So many feelings. I'm so glad he's safe but I wish he didn't have to leave.

I saw that Israel is proposing a two month cease fire in exchange for the return of all hostages, but refuses to fully withdraw the IDF.
I truly hope the hostages are returned, but that is an unjust deal for Palestinians if that is what ends up being the agreement.

Two months so we get our people back and then we can kill you all again. Disgusting

Hamas needs to let those people go. Palestinians need to be safe from bombings and invasion.

Hamas declined the deal from what I’ve seen. I'm not surprised. Hamas needs to let those people go. Palestinians need to be safe from bombings and invasion. Further reading, it seems that Hamas put forth a counter offer where the war would end, IDF would withdraw and Palestinians currently imprisoned would be released in exchange for the Israeli hostages. Which, I get. I also get Netanyahoo saying no, as it feels unbalanced and like this was all for nothing. I don’t know how you can coexist with people who hate you in such an ingrained way. Statehood is the minimum though. Partition of India and Pakistan comes to mind, but both are actual countries. I then of course think about Kashmir, which is heartbreaking. I know it’s not as simple as “just do xyz”, but there has to be a better way, that doesn’t require this type of bloodshed.

I think about baby Kfir every day. I thought they said he had passed along with his mom and brother weeks ago but Israel doesn’t think so. I’m heartbroken about all scenarios for him/them.
I pray for Gazan civilians every day, but the moms giving birth in those conditions break me. It’s the most vulnerable time. I remember being able to call my midwives literally 24/7 for any concerns during pregnancy and post partum. Dealing with PPD/A. The intense weeks of initial breastfeeding pain. I think about the hygiene required to heal well post partum. The amount of diapers needed, for both mom and baby. I can’t stop imagining what it’s like for them. It shouldn’t happen at all, but the scale of it is incomprehensible. 180 women a day.

The Khan Younis bombing proves that the cruelty is the point.

It's all terrible and horrific and heartbreaking. Any time kids are the ones being hurt (physically, emotionally, etc.) or killed, though, it breaks me. (That goes for the children Hamas killed or took hostage as well.) Like babybean said about mothers giving birth during this. And those Palestinian kids? Israel is giving them every reason possible to hate Israel and turn to Hamas instead of being on the side looking for a peaceful solution.

I have conflicting feelings about this. I know it’s a interim ruling but Zionists are spinning it was “they said it’s not genocide and support our cause” and I’m like wtf. Zionists were arguing this was a sham trial and they will do what they want regardless of the result. When you can skew it in your favour it’s legit now? The wording was too broad for me but I’m glad it wasn’t thrown out and the trial will proceed.

I don’t understand the ruling tbh. Israel is supposed to adhere to article 2, which states Israel is to take all measures within its power to prevent genocidal acts including killing members of the group (Palestinians), causing serious bodily or mental harm to the group, imposing measures intended to prevent birth (etc). So, everything that’s been happening the last 110 days?

26,000 Palestinian lives lost. With many more injured and displaced. That seems like genocide to me.

can anyone explain to me why Palestinian land is being auctioned off at a synagogue in Toronto? I hadn't heard this. From my quick Google, it seems to be Israeli-occupied homes in occupied Palestinian land.

Has anyone seen Bisan lately? She actually has a bit of a smile. She's finally feeling heard and all the student protests are making a difference (her words).
