Woah mathrun that’s crazy. What do they think the pelvic issue could be? I’m not totally sure. The radiologist said a long name for it and then told MH not to even write it down and definitely not to Google it. It’s something to do with how his bones grew/connect. So the March appointment is with a specialist to find out if it needs immediate treatment or if it’s one of those watch it and do something if it bothers him later things. (My kids love to put us through those. One had a stomach hernia as a baby the he outgrew, and the other has some weird thing with his sternum where it may do nothing but make him have a dip in his chest or it could rub on his thoracic cavity and cause breathing or heart issues as he grows.)

mathrun ah the sternum thing is pectus excavatum? My brother has that and at one point they wanted to do surgery (I think) but my mom wanted to wait and see. He’s 36 now and it never caused any issues thankfully. His daughter also seems to have it very mildly (his is pretty noticeable)

Omg mathrun I am so sorry! I am glad they caught it before it caused more damage. I hope the rest of the year is incredibly uneventful and the pelvis thing is like no big deal. Ooooof

Goodness mathrun I am so sorry!! Thank goodness he is ok!! When I had mono at 17 it presented similarly, sudden onset high fever, horrendously sore throat, and then arm/shoulder pain I chalked up to ballet

I was hoping that because this last time wasn't as bad as before, I wouldn't cough for a long time after, but I'm almost a month out and still coughing.

I always struggle to kick a post viral cough. My husband might kill me though if it takes a month. He sleeps in the guest room whenever one of us is sick and I know he wants to come back to bed but I'm still coughing.

Little kid has a wheezy cough but negative for COVID, RSV and strep. He doesn’t seem too bothered so hopefully he’ll get through it soon.

Thanks for the well wishes. The rest of us stayed healthy and she basically had the easiest bought of covid in the world. Just the pukes that one day and a runny nose for another 4 or 5. It was pure torture being trapped at home. LOL

I could laugh/cry right now. DS2 stopped meds for strep Monday night. Guess who just had to be picked up from afterschool daycare for puking again. And he says his mouth hurts again. But says his stomach feels fine. If he has strep that didn’t clear again I’m going to push so hard for an ENT evaluation for tonsil removal.

DS2 has had an off and on low grade fever the last couple days and a cough but bouncing off the walls with energy and says he feels fine. So we were thinking just a virus, but grabbed a COVID test in case. This test also happens to test for influenza A and B.
He has flu A.🙈 They don't vax for flu here generally, because it's usually not a big deal but we've had a big outbreak this year and it's everywhere. Just hoping I don't get sick too.

byjove we actually just got the call because they couldn’t use a rapid since he just got off antibiotics. They said culture was negative for strep so it’s viral. It’s so odd because his symptoms 100% mimic what he does when he has strep.

PDQ BIL is back in the hospital, it has been a few days since he was rushed to ER. He has been sedated since they got him back, today they are checking brain activity. ILs have been told it may not be good considering he was down for quite a bit. Anyway,

There actually is one COVID/flu combo home test under EUA in the US: www.amazon.com/LUCIRA®-COVID-19-Results-Emergency-Authorized/dp/B0CL7S9F4P/ but it is $40 for one test. 😫
