How is it already December? We're getting solar tiles put on this month along with a new roof. Supposedly the work should only take 3-4 days but that seems too short of a time to me for all that work. What do I know though.

What manufacturer are you going with, if you don't mind my asking? When we replace the roof in a few years, we've also been thinking about putting in solar.

After a ton of research we settled on SunTegra solar tiles.

This has been a bit of a rough week. I fell getting out of a chair Tuesday evening- my leg was alseep and had gone completely numb, I had no idea- and it gave way and I went down. So now I'm in a boot for two weeks. Guess I won't be ice skating before Christmas... also found out the same evening I have precancerous polyps. That was not what I was expecting to hear regarding my colonoscopy for ongoing abdominal pain. Anyone else have those? She said to repeat in 5 years, but maybe 3 would be better? I'll see her late Jan to ask. But I guess it's good I didn't wait until 50 (since I'm not yet 40)! And now it looks like rain for our town's big Christmas parade tomorrow. I'm a grump.
ETA I guess it's time to figure out my leg falling asleep thing too. It's been increasingly an issue for the last couple of years, but more annoying than anything. I'd mostly just been trying to pretend it wasn't happening. Sigh.

I have an interview for what might be my dream job at 12:45. I am beyond nervous. I am getting no work done at my actual job when I really need to be super productive.

I will say when I fell it was a bit comical. My leg was completely numb for several more minutes and I was just kind of wriggling on the floor (I don't remember the fall itself) in shock but not really pain and DH ran out of the bedroom and was like what is happening, is this a medical emergency? and I was all I don't know? I can't feeling anything so I'm just waiting to see how bad it is?! And then when I went to urgent care the next afternoon I told the doctor I wasn't in a lot of pain, but mostly my foot and leg felt fizzy, and she was like well that is from your excessive swelling. I said really? it doesn't look that bad to me. And she was trying hard not to laugh. #hotmess

I'm sorry for the rough week byjove, it's ok to be grumpy. I don't have any experience with polyps, but glad you got checked out early. I hope your leg is feeling better. Good luck trueblue!

ETA I guess it's time to figure out my leg falling asleep thing too. It's been increasingly an issue for the last couple of years, but more annoying than anything. I'd mostly just been trying to pretend it wasn't happening. Sigh. My GI dr found pre-cancerous polyps during my colonoscopy when my brother was diagnosed with colon cancer. He removed them at the time and had me go back in 3 years. At my 3 year follow up all was clear so now I go back in 5. My understanding is that it’s no big deal as long as they are removed during the colonoscopy. I hope you figure out what’s going on with your leg issues and it’s not serious.

byjove From what I know of colon cancer, it is a slow growing one. So it is really good that you got checked out early. My aunt died last year at 38 from stage 4 colon cancer after being dx only 8 months before - they told her that it had likely been growing for years so it was way too late by the time they caught it. So it is great news that they found these super early and you can get semi regular checkups from now on. Aside from my aunt, I know one other woman who died at 34 from stage 4 colon cancer so it freaked me out enough to get a colonoscopy last year at 33. I definitely try to tell my friends to go get checked just in case, since it seems like it is occurring earlier and earlier. The doctor told me that the association for colon whatevers (whatever professional org that is for colon doctors lol) just updated their guidance to get your first colonoscopy at 45. I still think that they should change it to 40. Anyway, I hope they can remove them or whatever they need to do and I'm glad you got checked out! Hope your leg healing isn't too horrible too.

coffeandnaps, willow, they were fully removed and yes, I am thankful they were caught early! I had the colonoscopy for very different reasons, and it threw me a bit to now have that on my radar. We have no family history of colon cancer.

byjoveWt-heck girl. Run this all past your primary doc. Numb leg to that extent might have spinal cause and needs to be checked out. In the meantime can I send some bubble wrap?

((Hugs)) byjove. That’s a lot. We have a history of colon cancer in my family and I’ve been told the same things as willow about it progressing slowly. As long as they remove the precancerous cells now, you should be good for awhile. If you end up with new GI symptoms in the future, check in with your doctor. It’s a good reminder to get our colonoscopies done on schedule.

byjove I fell a couple years ago and broke my ankle and it was kind of comical too. I lost my balance on the threshold into the garage and I swear I fell in slow motion. MH saw me disappear and said it was pretty funny. I hope you recover quickly! I hope the polyps are nothing serious!

How is it already December? We're getting solar tiles put on this month along with a new roof. Supposedly the work should only take 3-4 days but that seems too short of a time to me for all that work. What do I know though. Solar tiles! That's so cool. What manufacturer are you going with, if you don't mind my asking? When we replace the roof in a few years, we've also been thinking about putting in solar. I've been trying to convince H we should go solar. But then we had to replace our garage door this year. So I'll be pushing for it again in the spring after our return comes through.

We're looking at whole tear down/ replace in the next 5yrs (more if we're lucky). I cry a little bit whenever I think of that cost. On the plus side, it gives us the perfect time to add solar when we do it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the tech gets less expensive in that time.

byjove that is scary about the polyps but I'm glad you got them removed. I really want to get a colonoscopy at some point within the next couple years and also MH for sure since his diet is pretty terrible. I'm not above embellishing symptoms to get a doctor to order one and I wish it was enough to just go in and say hey I eat pretty terrible and I want to make sure everything is good in there. We also don't have any family history of it.
