byjove this is what I was thinking too AND the admin should be there to support the teacher with adjusting to managing the individual students, not just the whole room. Do you remember at the beginning of the school year when I posted that the VP tried to blame all of the issues last year in my DD having two new teachers (one brand new to teaching) and low and behold she has two first year teachers again this year!?! Now that you mention it, I vaguely recall this bullshit pushback.

Is there a ton of teacher turnover in your district? If so, I'm very surprised! My SIL taught there and loved it.

byjove, that is 100% how I felt with DD2 was in our old district. Her having a very new teacher is what finally pushed things over into getting evaluations, etc. Then despite getting all that "proof" done privately, the district gave her practically no accommodations. Infuriating. ADHD and anxiety have always been described to me as a see-saw. It's really hard to get it perfectly balanced. That has been very true for us as she gets older. (Now that she's learned all the coping techniques for ADHD- anxiety is our bigger issue currently) I hope this meeting is fruitful.

The district should be paying you for training new teachers... I'm about to call their superintendent and offer to provide an in-service. My hourly rates are very reasonable.

The district should be paying you for training new teachers... Im in a loop if I can’t believe I’m expected to medicate my child to try and make it through a school day, I can’t believe she struggles this much at school and is she where she should be?, are we bad parents?, it would be nice to send her to the Adhd school in our neighborhood, we can’t afford $60k a year (not kidding!) for said school, what happens when anxiety gets worse in middle school from fights and she understands the threat of school violence, and hopefully things will work out with this new plan! 😵💫 No. You are in a very good, well resourced school system. This should not be hard. I'm assigning neither malfeasance nor incompetence but something isn't being properly handled here. If it were me I think I'd see how the next meeting goes and then escalate to the district level.

I'm sure they're focused on the ones they've labeled 'disruptive' and 'troublemaker' since she SEEMS on the surface to be able to cope, they're moving along. Its not fair and I hope they put the supports she needs in place soon. <3

Do you mean like for a review? They also brought in central office evaluators since there was an emotional component (which I didn’t realize was a thing). Also I’m not sure about turnover. The last couple of years it has sure felt like there has been more than normal at our school, but I don’t know what’s Covid related and how it compares to other schools.

If you already had central office personnel at the last meeting then I really REALLY get why you are frustrated. She is, from what you are telling me, clearly exhibiting signs of inattentiveness that affects her learning so that needs to be supported. I'm really disappointed that she's not receiving the support to help her learn and can only imagine how frustrated you must feel 😔 ❤️

Well, I am an idiot. I showed up for my mammogram this morning and she said she didn’t have me listed. She was checking something and I checked my messages to see that my appointment was yesterday. 😟
It took 3 months to get this appointment so luckily she said that they could still see me.

I did that for a car appointment once and thankfully they were still able to get me in and I didn’t have to tell my husband that was outside waiting to give me a ride home. I also had my (first) mammogram this morning! 🙌🏻

My littlest is 5 today. He is so excited to be 5, although he has been trying to push off things he doesn’t want to do until he is 5. He tried it today and I responded “well how exciting that you ARE 5 today, so you can do it.” And HBD to his HIH twin, cnf’s middle!

That’s a lot AmyG! Good luck with all those appointments. Sort of made it. But late dentist they fit us in so that meant late to phys therapy. Then pt secretary says oh we didn't get approval for this appt or we will do it anyway. Have to fit in 3 more appts for people this week then maybe I can relax a little
