Selena + Chef is a pretty fun, light watch. Selena Gomez learns to cook. Each episode is a known chef that guides her through preparing meals. It started during the pandemic. I like watching her and her friends/family…and I’ve learned some new to me cooking stuff too!

I just finished Pachinko. It's taken me a while to watch them all because I actually sit and focus my full attention which I don't do often. I cried so much. After the finale, they aired some interviews with actual Korean women who lived in Japan during the same time. The show felt like a gorgeous tribute to those women. Every interview I've read with the people who worked on it made me appreciate how much importance they placed on the project.

I've been watching so much stuff on Apple lately. A list:
Servant (season 1) - an M Night Shyamalan show that's hard to describe. Super unsettling and trigger warnings for infant death and general gross shit. This was really entertaining to watch quickly. The finale was just ok. I'll definitely watch the other two seasons.
Schmigadoon - so cute! I love musicals but I still wasn't sure if I would dig this. It was really fun and I liked the style.
The Shrink Next Door - the one that's based off of the podcast with Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd. Not at ALL what I was expecting based on the actors involved but I still liked it. This is another that requires binging, week to week would have been rough.
Surface - I suffered through this shit every single week when nothing ever happened, I swear. This is the only Apple show I've watched so far that I would say is not very good. There was maybe one episode that was exciting. It's supposed to be a thriller!
Black Bird - top 5 shows of the entire year, it was so good. TW for child abuse and death, sexual assault (but it is all off screen which I appreciated). Also Taron Egerton is so fine. Taron plays a drug dealer who gets 10 years in prison but agrees to go to a high security prison to try to get a confession from a man who is believed to be a serial killer. Based on a true story.

tatorhead328 Have you watched Invasion? It's pretty good although really slow at times but it got picked up for a second series and I think they're taking the slow pacing critique to heart and that the next season will be better. H and I still enjoyed it quite a bit.

I just finished Devil in Ohio on Netflix.
The writing (dialogue) annoyed me, but the overall story was pretty good. Just be forewarned there are definitely moments where you will roll your eyes at the dialogue.

I'm watching The Extraordinary Attorney Woo (Netflix) - it is beautifully done, if even overacted in some ways. Subtitled, so definitely one for active viewing, but I'm truly enjoying it, and the music is also lovely.

But I’m not sure what would have made me content as far as what the ending should have been.

I just saw that we can get a 3 month free trial of apple TV with our roku so I need to go through and figure out what shows I want to watch. I'll look back through the thread but I'll take any recommendations! We paused our hulu and Netflix due to budget so I figure this will be nice to fill that void. Right now we only are keeping disney.

I'm still working my way through the other Apple shows. For kids, my 10-yr-old DD likes Wolfwalkers (which is a movie.)

DH and I have started "The Other Two" which is a comedy on HBO about the older siblings of a Justin Bieber-like viral teenage singer. It is very entertaining.
Molly Shannon is the Mom and the guy who plays Vinnie Van Lowe in Veronica Mars is the agent.

Maybe this has been mentioned already, but I'm watching Tales From the Loop on Prime and it is the best show I've seen in a while. It's set in a town that sits atop an underground experimental physics research centre, and strange things happen. The episodes tell interconnected but self-contained stories that are quiet and gently paced. It has a very dreamy, surreal atmosphere and the stories and music are beautiful. It's an all-around joy to watch.
