So, I know I have watched a couple shows lately that I would recommend, but don’t deserve a thread. So I thought it might be good to create something for others. Feel free to add (or discuss)
- Maggie (Hulu) - this is super fun. It’s about a psychic and relationships. - The Bear (Hulu) - about a guy that takes over a Chicago beef place when his brother dies. Dude can be a dick, but has a great supporting cast. Has been renewed for second season. - Boo Bitch (Netflix) - two high school seniors that are trying to make their mark and one dies and becomes a ghost. There are some unexpected twists.

Loot on Apple is fantastic so far!
My mom recommended Maggie to me today too, so that is for sure on the list.

A couple of older shows I recently watched:
Unbelievable (Netflix) - dark show about female detectives going after a serial rapist Durrells of Corfu (Amazon) - English family living on a Greek island in the 30s; funny and light watch with beautiful scenery
Newer shows:
The Staircase - HBO, true crime dramatic show Hacks (Season 2) - HBO, funny show about female comedians Fboy Island (Season 2) - HBO, this is my favorite reality dating show

I'm watching Season 2 of Only Murders in the Buildings and FBoy Island now but am otherwise not into anything, so I appreciate a recommendations thread.

I tried watching Irma Vep on HBO with Alicia Vikander and it's so boring, I stopped three episodes in.

I highly recommend Ghosts. The CBS version is absolutely delightful (and I am bummed by the lack of emmy noms). I just finished binging the British version on HBO max last month, it's also wonderful. Edited to remove excessive use of the word "and"

We started Severance and are totally invested. Started out weird but by the end of ep 1, I was like ooooooooooooooh yeah I'm so in. We watch The Old Man, so so good. Jeff Bridges, John Lithgow, Amy Brenneman and Alia Shawkat - super casting. Anyone watching Blackbird, White Lotus, or The Boys? I haven't seen them, but am kinda interested in opinions of those who have. newspapers, I will watch that DB Cooper series!

I just finished Trigger Point on Peacock. It was mindless and decent. The Bear was really good, but it definitely stressed me out at first. I finally watched Mrs. Maisel season 4. Meh. Disappointed. H and I are both liking The Old Man. We also just watched London Kills on Acorn. That was pretty good, too.

For some reason, keeping a subscription to AppleTV feels like a bridge too far when we have Netflix, Hulu and HBOMax. So I wait until a few shows are done and then binge them all in a month or two and cancel it again. I've done this at least 2 or 3 times.
So anyway, I'm writing down all the Apple show rec's for my next session.
Has anyone watched the Tom Hiddleston show on Apple? I was intrigued by the trailer but haven't heard any reviews.

We watched half of the first episode. Then I read a synopsis and felt it wasn't worth continuing. It was boring AF.

Even the second episode is a bit slow but then it picks up.

The new one is something about a monster in old timey England. ETA: The Essex Serpent is what it's called. I had to look it up.

for movies, I watched a few over a weekend last month, Very Good Girls with Elizabeth Olsen and Dakota Fanning, YA besties movie, I was surprised by how much I liked it! Aside from Peter Sarsgaard playing a damned creeper lol and I liked Perfect Pairing, it was cheesy and good tho it was jarring watching Adam Demos in a role so very different from Brad (Sex/Life). A good friend watched We Broke Up starring William Jackson Harper, that's next up for me, I think.

I got a few months free of apple through target cartwheel things. And we just cancelled Netflix for a while
