Yay new thread!
I did my long run today since MIL took the girls for a few hours. Took my legs way too many miles to agree, but I got in my 10 miles.

I did 5 miles on the treadmill on Wednesday and 2 on the indoor track last night.
My right hip (along the bikini line) has been super sore for about a week now. It flared up just a few days after the left side finally calmed down. I think it's the treadmill? Like, since it pulls your legs that I'm extending my legs back more or something? I've been using a massage ball to help release it and standing at my desk more to keep it straight, and that does help for a little while, but ugh. I need to do 11 miles this weekend on the trail, and I'm just 3 weeks out from my half. I'd like to not be in pain!

I'm going back and forth as to whether I should sign up for the new Nike half marathon in LA.
I've always wanted to run the San Francisco Nike half, but they stopped doing it.
But it's also during my eldest son's spring break, which we usually split between my family in Arizona, Passover in LA, and Easter with DH's family in San Francisco, so it's already a super busy week with flights to 2 different places and hotels in 2 different cities. This would cut down on time in Arizona since the race is on Sunday and we'd need to be back from Arizona in time for seder on Wednesday.

Bummer about your hip sewfi2. I hope you have a good long run regardless. If be super inclined to sign up too billyhorrible. I'm terrible person to ask for input because I'll always say to do it. That sucks they don't do the San Fran Nike Half anymore. That was always a bucket list race for me.

billyhorrible I’m with cnf, do it! Nike used to do a 10km ladies night run in Amsterdam which was really great but they stopped it as well.

My oldest had baseball tryouts on Saturday, so I used the time he was waiting for his turn to hit the trails that surround the park and get some miles in. I didn't track it, just ran and enjoyed the weather, the feel, the views...

loveswaffles, what vest did you get? I've had a nathan fire forever and I use to like it, but I tried wearing it on my long run this weekend and ending up taking it back to my car and switching over to my flip belt.

As of last week I'm in taper mode. Did 8 miles on the trail Saturday morning- it was seriously 30F degrees warmer than last Saturday and was, accordingly, a pretty different run. Both slower (30 sec/mile slower average) and more painful

I got the Salomon Adv 5: It takes two soft flasks at the front and, if needed, you can put a 1.5l bladder in the back. It also lots of packing space for my phone and gels and snacks and keys and gloves etc without being bulky.

Also! A colleague reminded me we might be able to get New York marathon entries through work this year. Is this the year I run a marathon? Or two?

After slacking of, serious training starts today... with a measly 2km jog. I want to get used to running 4 days a week instead of 3 so going to do 4 short days for this week to see how it goes.

Hi. I'm still streaking. My mileage has dropped quite a bit though. Still training for a February half so I should still grab 100+ this month.
I'm 7 weeks pregnant though so my motivation has waned considerably because I'm tired and nauseous a lot. Hoping to keep my streak alive until the one year mark regardless. We'll see.
