Oooh that sounds yummy. Now did you make the peanut sauce too? Or did you just use store bought? Girl, I bought a jar from Wegmans. Ain't nobody got time for that. Lol the recipe is so easy then I clicked on the link for the sauce and just uuugghhh. I'm glad it was good though; in sure our regular store will have some so I may pick up a jar this week.

We made hard boiled eggs and boneless ribs today. My parents used theirs for the first time and couldn't believe how tender the ribs were. Deliciousness.

I might try some chicken soup tonight. www.number-2-pencil.com/2016/12/12/instant-pot-chicken-noodle-soup/I've also used this recipe. I made it twice in one week so I had some to freeze for later. I did add some rosemary that I had from my yard and I cooked the noodles on the stove and added them when the soup was done. It was the best chicken noodle soup I have made and easy.

Oh yeah, I always make the egg noodles separately and add them in as I'm ladling the soup into bowls. I don't like soggy noodles.

My IP will arrive tomorrow. I am anxiously pinning recipes and am excited to meal plan and actually hopefully cook more dinners at home so we can all eat together.
QUESTION - does anyone know of a recipe where you can make the salsa chicken AND some sort of rice together in the IP at the same time? or is that a weird pipe dream?
Also, anyone willing to share more recipes of a complete dinner (ie protein and side) cooked together would be awesome.

I think you put the main dish in the bottom, and put your rice in an oven safe dish on top of it.

Rice/pasta just get added in at the end.

You know what I DON'T like about my IP? I keep burning my arms on the top rim when I'm saute-ing things. It's too tall! So I end up standing on DS's step stool 😕

Betweenthelines and Colette this is happening today! Finally. I will report back on if I am able to figure it out. ETA thechickencoop I have the same issue. Not sure if the 6 quart is shorter than the 8 but I’m having buyers remorse with the 8. This sucker is a beast.

@shinyredsmartazz, When I'm using the saute function, I usually wear an oven mitt when I'm going in with the tongs/spatula. It's helped me avoid oil burns since I started using it.

Easily the best chicken soup I have ever made. Seen here with brown rice ramen. Was a whole lot better with whole grain egg noodles. I heart my instapot!

I have a dumb question.
For quick release. Do you just turn the release easily to 'venting'? Or do you give it that extra push so that it actually actively releases that looong huge steam?

I'm resurrecting this thread with some info that I got from IP. Not sure if it's known, so I'm sharing:
I mentioned in the IP sale thread how I melted my mfing IP on my stovetop on accident. I contacted IP and they informed me that they sell JUST the base to replace it (as well as all other parts individually). I did not know this. They also said I can email them and request a discount code. 1 day later (today) they sent me $10 off code, so I got the Duo 9-in-1 replacement base for $44.

Oh man. Obviously she just tagged the wrong person. I'm a moron and my reading comprehension skills are minimal. I'm happy you got a base though too Betweenthelines!

Calling all experts: just got my instant pot and I can’t figure out if it’s actually on or not. I’m trying to use the soup function for 10 minutes. It just says “on” and it never shows the time left and it went on for much longer than 10 minutes. What am I doing wrong?

Once it's to pressure it will start counting down. It can take 10-20 minutes to get to pressure depending on what you are making. Did you do the water test first before you made something?

I didn’t do the water test 😞 it took a very long time to heat up but it got there. Which makes sense since it was basically filled to the max level for potato soup. Thanks!
