Taitai it is so much bigger than I expected! It looks good, but he has to go back to finish. 4.5 hours last night and still need about 2 more to complete. 😬

DST is here and it's the Mondayest of Mondays! We actually have fared pretty well so far today - DD was in one of her best moods ever on the way to preschool and I totally did not expect that. She'll likely melt down tonight when the lack of sleep catches up to her. I have a short week this week - off Friday for our spring break - and my mom and I are going day-drinking/shopping on my day off. So basically I'm just willing this week to rush right by.

Hey strangers! I rarely scroll down past the tv/blinds board so HELLO again! cythe I'm sorry your H is dealing with that. Jeez. And CONGRATS doodlemommy!!! I figured I'd pop in for an update since DS2 had his 18 month check up today (whaaaaa??) He was 18 mo yesterday technically. But my premie is in the 63rd percentile for weight and 80th for height. He's a giant!! Lol. He's been consistantly a pound and an inch large than DS1 at the same age at all of his milestone appointments. Anything else crazy going on with everyone's LOs?? Who else is KU?

It was 49 degrees here and practically a heatwave so I took the girls to the park after school for an hour. DD2 was not a fan of the swings but loved the slides. It is so dry here that both girls’ hair was on end with all the static from the slides. The rest do the week is supposed to be equally nice but we are super busy. I was just happy to get out while we had the chance!

Guys, I need advice. So, my husbands mom calls the other day and tells us that her mother (70s, E's great-geandmother) has been diagnosed with a rare artery hardening disorder that may run in families.
Now. H's mom is not the most reliable person in the world and often is a bit of a drama llama. I'm not sure what reason shed have for lying about this, but it's not out of the realm of possibility. ETA: this effects about 1 in 1 million people 🤔
Anyway, the condition is more prevalent in kids than adults, but can sure appear for the first time in adulthood. H is fine, his mom is fine, ect. Problem is, the first sign of the disease in kids is a fucking stroke. First symptom. Stroke.
There is a test for it, and I will be bringing it up to the pedi but I dont know what to do from there. Do I push for testing without any real reason to? I dont need this right now. Also, today has been full of poopsplosions. Thankfully we cloth diaper so its fully contained but so. much. poop.

Do you know what kind of testing they do? Is it a blood test for markers or something? I'd probably do some research and then ask about it, see what your insurance says, etc. If it's genetic I wonder if it's recessive? It may not even be something to worry about if you and H are clear 🤷♀️

cythe , I would talk to your pedi and get their advice. And like coop mentioned, part of my decision would likely be based on what type of test it was. If it were super invasive, I personally would not do it with such low odds, unless there was some distinct cause for concern.

cythe I agree with the others - I think I’d check with a pediatrician to see how invasive the tests are and what the risks are.
