I'm not sure if we can say March came in like a lion referring to the amount of bullshit in our lives, but if we can than March most certainly came in like a lion. Hopefully it leaves like a lamb because I'm over it!

Uh oh, what’s going on cythe?! Oh man, where to start Haha. Basically everyone in my life NEEDS me right now. Clearly my kid needs me all day, 3 of my friends are having troubles and they needed to emotionally unload on me today and then my husband messaged me to let me know that hes being investigated into a sexual harassment claim from a woman he got into it with last week. Tldr (I dont want to divulge too much since it is active but I also dont want everyone to think my husband is a sexual predator) is she was verbally harassing my husbands recruit at the indoc place and he told her to knock it off. She got huffy and tried to call him out on a uniform violation in front of everyone and he told her she was wrong and to know her place. Now shes filed against him for sexual harassment because - and I do quote - she "was forced to look upon his unclothed chest". Now. First of all, he had his uniform on but typically everyone is required to wear a white shirt under it. Except that the official regulations literally state *when on shore duty, the white undershirt may be omitted. Guess who is on shore duty?! Tldr, tldr : woman calls man out. Man informs woman she is wrong. Woman looks stupid in front of everyone and plays the sexual harassment card. So, whee.

Oh and the sleaziest part - about 2 hours after he found out about all this he was informed that she would drop it all if he just apologized. But since she filed official paperwork that would mean he'd have to sign off and admit guilt and have a sexual harassment ding on his file for something he literally didnt do.

Question; what do your little ones sleep in? We’ve been using sleep sacks that snap at the shoulder like this But lately she’s an escape artist and can wriggle out of it and then she wakes up angry about it and probably cold. Ideas?

bootsorhearts1, DS just sleeps in footies or a pants/shirt combo with no sleep sack. But what about something like this, with a side zipper?

So DD was sent home from school last Wednesday with the stomach bug, and now DS seems to have gotten it. He started having really bad diapers Sunday night, and got totally miserable yesterday at MILs. He's usually so wild and when I got home he just wanted to cuddle. The cuddling was great, but I hate that he felt so bad. He was in better spirits this morning, so I left him with MIL and came on into work.
In non-O17 news, I think I'm having a sort of quarter-life crisis. I'm feeling a little restless in my job (even though I do love it!) and have been contemplating where I might want to see myself in 5 years...maybe even making a career change. A lot of this is spurred by my concern about DD getting closer to pre-k age and the logistics of getting her to/from there. While my job now is great, it doesn't allow a lot of flexibility as far as scheduling and it's just been on my mind a lot lately.

DS2 has a pretty nasty cough. I'm not sure how much sleep we got last night but it wasn't much. I don't know if it is hurting when he coughs or what, but he gets really upset and it is a never-ending cycle of cough-cry-cough-cry-cough...... So many tears and so much coughing. We leave for Mexico in <24 hours so OF COURSE he is sick. DH is taking him to the ped after school.
We still had some medicine for the nebulizer from when he had RSV last winter. We gave him a treatment last night and this morning to see if that would help but he fights it so hard and gets so upset it was probably a waste of time. Does anyone have any tricks to getting a 17 month old to sit for a breathing treatment? Watching TV didn't work.

DD1 hasn’t been looking the greatest, very pale and little appetite. But she has no fever or anything so off to daycare we’ve sent her. I know daycare has been checking her temp because she told me she’s in the office a lot. No fever or other symptoms so sorry daycare 🤷♀️
DD2 has been a miserable grump. So much crying. Doesn’t want to really eat anything. Just wants to sit on my lap or hip . Whining and crying. She’s been doing this for so long I’m worried it’s now our normal or something. I’m hoping it’s teeth. I can just see the tips of her eye teeth.

Work has been awesome though lately. I have a student teacher and she’s completely in charge and I am free to do whatever I want. I’m mostly bothering my teaching besties during their breaks 😂 I’ve been very productive scheduling other appointments, organizing things for next year, listening to Ted talks.... it’s like a mini break this year from teaching (while I still get paid) and I needed it.

DS2 has double ear infections. I'm glad we have a diagnosis and meds but I hate leaving town when he's sick. He is so clingy to me I hope he isn't too much of a bear for the grandmas. Mostly worried about nighttime because sleep has been so rough lately. 🙏🙏🙏

Mostly worried about nighttime because sleep has been so rough lately. 🙏🙏🙏 I’m glad you guys have a diagnosis, and I hope the meds get your DS2 back to normal asap! I am sure the grandmas will be able to manage it, and kids are resilient- he’ll adapt while you guys are away. Both DS1 and DS2 had terrible coughs about 10 days ago while my parents were visiting. We tried to the nebulizer with DS2 and he just got so upset - screamed the whole 5 min and almost made himself puke. I find that doing steam treatments in the shower is better - both boys respond well to it. We just sit on a bench I have and get the shower stall really steamy and I rub their backs for a while. Always stops the coughing attacks. Good luck, and have fun in Mexico!

Taitai yeah the ped said we could do nebulizer treatments since we have a machine, but we skipped it last night. He gets so worked up and we felt it wasn't worth it. He slept a little better last night and we came up with a motrin/abx/cough med schedule that should make the nights a little better now that we know what we're fighting. We're at the airport! Mexico here we come!!

thatgirlrachel Career change - sounds exciting! What kind of work are you thinking of? snip Taitai, I've long thought about trying to move into a faculty position on campus (I work in higher ed, but on the staff side). I can teach with my MBA that I will finish this summer, but it would mean definitely getting a doctoral degree eventually. I've also lightly tossed around the idea of going back for a degree in education and pursuing a k-12 faculty position. Even though I think I would love the work, it would basically mean starting over in terms of my education/experience. I *love* my job now, but I'm also starting to feel a little restless at the same time. So who knows what my future holds?!

@thatrachelgirl All of your ideas sound interesting! I had a few teachers in high school who held PhDs, and it was so amazing to have had educators like that. I’m really appreciative that they decided to pour so much of themselves into teaching at the secondary level. I know you will be great no matter what you do - good luck thinking it through!

I need some sun here. We are sick of the snow and ice. I just want to take the girls outside but’s it’s single digits still. We are going stir crazy and need some sun and fresh air! I swear the girls would be happier and some of this sickness/lingering cold stuff would improve.
H has a basketball banquet tonight and I have one kid in bed and am about to put the other down. It will give me about 1.5-2hrs by myself and I think I will just watch my shows and leave the cleaning and dumb house chores for another day.
