The Hills Have Eyes. I love scary movies, but couldn't get through the first half hour of that. I was disgusted.

So I have these night terrors/hallucinations a couple times a week, they started when I was 19 and they've become more frequent over the years. It's always the same, this thing I call a shadow person (sometimes multiple people) sneak into my bedroom and watch me. I can almost never make out any defining features, it's just this dark figure peeking/standing in the doorway, crawling across the floor, hiding behind the curtains with just their legs showing, etc. At one point they became more vivid and aggressive. One night there were two of them attacking my sleeping husband, stabbing him in the neck with a knife. He woke up to me hitting him because I was trying to fend them off. Another time I woke up to a woman standing at the foot of the bed, pointing a gun at me. It doesn't matter where I am, they follow me. College, hotel rooms, etc. I used to panic each time it happened, but it's gotten to the point where I'm so used to it I just stare at them for a few seconds, tell myself they aren't really there, and go back to sleep. I had an experience like this back in September. I was sleeping and all of a sudden I woke up and in the doorway there was a shadow figure. It looked like it had horns/antlers like a goat. I was absolutely terrified and had this strong urge to pray. I repeated the guardian angel prayer over and over again until I fell back to sleep. I grew up catholic but I haven't been to church in 10-15 years. I still can shake the feeling of dread I felt. Luckily it has only happen once in my life.

So was this person using their bathroom? And flushing? Because that would make noise. I'm just trying to understand the logistics.

"Nightmares In Red White and Blue" is a cool documentary on the history of horror. I think I've watched it 20 times. It's like my horror movie bible. On Netflix.
ETA: It's not on Netflix anymore. But it's on YouTube. Type in the title.

Story 1:
Ok, so remember how I said mh went through a phase where he was reading books on exorcisms, demonology, etc.? During this phase, he had a couple weird moments at nights. He's a sleep talker. Normally it's gibberish and I wake up to him talking and tell him to go back to sleep. But one night I woke up and he was like, yelling in gibberish. He was laying on his stomach, propped up on his elbows, and angrily shaking his fists at the wall (where our heads were). I said something like go back to sleep and closed my eyes. I heard movement and opened my eyes and he had moved his face to be within inches of mine and was just staring at me. It completely unnerved me. I said, very calmly, "you're scaring me. Stop. Go to sleep." He smirked, then laughed and rolled over with his back to me. Once he started snoring, I got up and went to the bathroom and prayed. The next morning I asked him about it and he didn't remember anything.
There's been a few other instances where he'll be talking in his sleep and when I tell him to go back to sleep, he'll stop speaking gibberish and say "shhh WH." Or once he told me to shut up and went back to talking gibberish. It's just weird to me that he recognizes I'm awake and says my name but then goes back to speaking random sounds. I can't even describe what his words sound like. A few weeks ago he sat up and said "I hate people", laid back down, and was snoring like 2 seconds later.
MH is weird. But he's the most chill and loveable guy when he's awake, ha.

I'm really excited for the It remake. I can appreciate the first movie. But I never really found it scary. Maybe I'm broken. I heard they are making this remake scarier. Who knows. The original was a joke. The book was scary AF. I have my fingers crossed that the new one will hopefully live up to it though. Yes I'm #thatperson.

A good one to watch is Midnight Meat Train. So good.
I also really like The Bone Collector and Copy Cat.
