L so very rudely woke up at 4:30 this morning so I am struggling with a capital S. I nursed him and he went back down long enough for me to get in the shower and woke back up again. H chilled with him while I got ready for work but he was super fussy because he was still tired I’m sure. Like go back to sleep!

Similar early wake up here. “Only” 4 overnight wake ups though so I’m feeling ok? What a terrible standard that is. I’m hoping to get a few things done before the kids wake up. Dh is gone again this week.

Hugs dizzycooks . We had only 3 wake ups last night but 3-4 is normally for us too. Also yesterday L wouldn't go back to sleep for 2 hours after a 4 am wake up and DS1 was awake just as L went back to sleep. I don't know if I will ever recover from the sleep deprivation.

I am a zombie this morning, and it is not DS2's fault. He mostly sleeps through the night. I have been up to midnight the last 2 nights unpacking and trying to get our new house all set up. I think I am going to need a Cherry Coke today. I am trying to quit drinking pop, but I need the caffeine and I don't like coffee. Tonight I am making myself go to bed earlier.

stardust84, clementine, dizzycooks, big bear hugs to the 3-4 night wakeup mamas. That shit is SO HARD. Lou has been crabby and sleeping poorly the last few days. I think its teething pain. We took her to the doc last week because she was tugging on ears, but there was no ear infection and the doc thought it was relating to the teeth. They haven't broken through yet but we might be close. If we get an additional wake up tonight I may try Tylenol to see if it helps.

A had 4 wake ups last night too. One was while I was still awake but still.... I’m walking round like a zombie. Luckily H is off work today and I may be able to nap... but first... the dentist for a filling.
Man today sucks.

I’m so sorry for the babies struggling with 3-4+ wake ups, and for the zombie mamas. Someday we’ll get better sleep again.
The next month is going to be totally nuts with escrow and prepping to move. I’m over the moon that we got the condo we put an offer on. The way it fell into our laps was perfect and felt extremely meant-to-be, and even though it’s small, we get that third bedroom and out of renting. We have an attached private patio with a tree and patch of grass, so I think we’ll be able to get a dog again in the next year or two.
But I’m going to lose my mind with packing and paperwork and moving with these two kiddos.

I survived the OOT wedding and my baby who doesn’t really like bottles managed just fine for the 48 hours I was away🙌🏻 Pumping on the go sucked, but I made it. Finally feeling like I can breathe now!

ArielMermaid I really hope you start getting better sleep soon too. We are pretty sure we are in habitual wake up territory so we are working on going to sleep at bedtime independently and then I am having DH do all wake ups until midnight. One that is done I am going to have him do all early morning wake ups which should just leave me with a NW (he doesnt know this yet).

Part of the issue is my three year old won’t sleep either and when she wakes up crying she generally wakes the baby up because the house is so small. 🙄 We had about a month where the toddler was sleeping through the night again but she’s all screwed up again now. Seriously terrified to be alone. MH is pretty much sleeping in her room. We are at a loss. She goes through spurts of this every so often but this has been the longest.

Can she tell you what she is scared of? New night light, stuffed animal maybe that glows or a small flashlight in her favorite colour?

My baby does not like consistency with his wake ups, I guess the plus is that it seems 99% of the time he wakes because he’s hungry? He has slept through once, a few nights of just one wake up but usually it’s 2 but not at the same times each night.
Same with naps, his first nap at 7/7:30am is the best one, easiest to get him down for but is usually 30-45 minutes but sometimes it’s 2 hours. I never know whether to shower or wait. It’s 7:50 now and I hear him laughing so I guess today’s is a 30 minute nap 🤨

As far as we can tell it’s a combination of the dark but mostly she just wants her dad. We have tried having him spend a lot of one on one time with him but can’t figure out the separation anxiety. The room is hardly dark, we have a very bright nightlight with a projector, we leave her closet light on, she keeps a flashlight under her pillow.

Congratulations 🎉 on the House katietopaz. I hope you don’t get too overwhelmed by the craziness of moving. I feel like I have packed and unpacked most boxes with just one hand. It is tough moving with 2 littles. I hope you have some people who can offer you a helping hand.

I’m currently standing at the sink with it full of hot dye, stirring no it for the next 30 mins.
Because it’s brown day at preschool on weds. Brown. 🙄

No normal parent would try to dress their kid in brown (except maybe khaki pants). My kid that will basically wear what I tell him would probably say something. I guess it won't show dirt?

I know right? We owned nothing brown and I couldn’t find anything at the stores I looked in. Of all the colors.
I’m laughing now - because the shirt dyeing worked out and it wasn’t horrible.

You're a rockstar for doing all of that with two littles in tow. My mom is flying in for a trip (pre-planned, the timing just works out perfectly) and gets in the day we're tentatively scheduled to close, so we'll have her help for the actual move day. Are you starting to feel settled in at all?

Well we didn’t get the house. I’m so disappointed. It felt like it could be our home too. We lost a house we LOVED... and then not 2-3 weeks later, our house popped up. It was meant for us: the smallest house in the BEST neighborhood, just the right size for a young family, and within our budget. My friend had the same thing happen - they lost an awesome house only to find the exact right one for them in a few weeks. I’m officially sending the ju-ju to you.
