Do we still do this?
Go ahead, vent about Other People's Pregnancies...

Of course we do! My first OPP comes in a roundabout way...we were watching a cooking competition show, and one contestant they introduced talked about how she married very young, had a daughter right away, was a happy SAHM (my plan). DH goes, "Ugh, how much do you hate her?" I actually had just been thinking she's sweet and they're a nice and cute family, not a thought of comparison, but after he said that, I was like, "Oh great, MH thinks I'm a bitter barren old maid!" (I do understand that he was trying for solidarity, so I gave him props for that.) My second OPP is more of a hypothetical one...I was working with our department chairs on their course offerings and staffing for next school year, and one goes, "It's so hard to plan this, people keep getting pregnant and asking off last minute and we have to start from scratch" - it just rubbed me the wrong way to complain about that. But it's true that everyone and their mother has been pregnant at my workplace in the last 2-3 years...enough that I've been able to get numb to seeing bumps, which is a plus I guess?

The daughter of one of my work colleagues is pregnant. Initially it was a "scandal" because it was unplanned and the daughter is young (not really) but doesn't have a great job and isn't married. I think she was just really into the drama of it all. Now she's all into it and talks about it constantly. I've never met the daughter, but I know all about the baby's room, the shower, her birth plan... I wish her the best, but I really don't want to hear about it.
