tgrimes I doubt it. One of my coworkers is the mom of one of Layla's teachers. I asked her to see if she could get any information for me, but I haven't heard back yet.

We're home and, thankfully, totally fine in every sense. Trying to do an accelerated bedtime and dinner because things ran late. I'll update you more when the kids go to bed. Thank you so much to everyone. all of your good vibes did their jobs today!

Guys I’m spiraling while waiting for the on call doc to get back to me. O is shivering, feverish, lethargic, and he’s complaining that the back of his neck hurts.

inthekitty why does a 1SG dictate when an O-4 goes home? I can understand your hesitation to get out halfway and give up that retirement. Is it NG that has to have "20 good years" or something like that and then you receive retirement at 60 something?

I had a break in service from active duty (which that time makes my possible retirement pay a little higher) but have between 7.5 and 9.5 now depending on how my inactive reserve time counts. We're medical so we're weird and operate differently. About 1/3 of our unit are officers. Technically the 1SG has no authority over me, but it's "his shop" and we're supposed to play nice with him. My friend is the CDR and butts heads with him all the time because he's an ass. Everyone is supposed to be released at the same time so it's fair to the enlisted.

Nothing really big to report on the appointment. They measured his head, watched him run around the room a little bit, checked his spine. They determined that it's running a little small because he's slightly flat in the back. He won't need a helmet and we didn't miss the opportunity for one, but it's just a little less round than optimal, He said for our peace of mind we can do an MRI with versed (sp) or go in for a cranial facial study to map the topography of his skull, but the doctor didn't think that either was necessary. He is ants to see us when Charlie turns 2. The worst part of the appt was the almost two hour wait to be seen for 30 minutes. Then so much traffic on the way home.

I decided to make peanut butter balls for our family get together in a couple of weeks. Given my cooking history I decided to do a trial run. All I needed to do was melt butter and peanut butter then mix with rice crispier and confectioners sugar. I followed the recipe exactly and it's a crumbly mess. Ugh! I'm just going to buy something. Why can't I be private chef rich?!

Yes. It comes back when the Motrin wears off.

The on call doc said if he perked up after the Motrin that it could wait until the morning. He said viruses can have those same symptoms. And of course mh is telling me I’m paranoid and always take it to the extreme. Does this really have to become an argument?! I’d rather be safe than sorry. O was scaring me with the head and neck pains. Plus he wouldn’t sit up, only wanted to lay down and be under the blanket.

Poor O snoopmommymom . I hope you hear back from the doctor soon. The back-of-the-neck pain is definitely worrisome. Could he mean that his throat hurts? eta: just saw that you got a call.

Thanks guys. I felt a lot better when he started making a few jokes and got up off the couch. Listening to him whimper about his neck hurting while being super lethargic was scary.
I hope tonight goes well because last night was hard with z being sick. Tomorrow i have to go to work because we have an important visitor that I’ll be with all day. O needs to stay home tomorrow because he had a fever tonight but mh wants to “wait and see.”

I hope O feels better snoopmommymom! We went through the CD my friend dropped off and she got some good shots. Which means I will be spending most of my day tomorrow doing Christmas cards, calendars and coffee mugs. Sorry work, none will be completed.

S just woke up coughing at like 12:15. She cried a little bit and then laid down to go back to sleep. H came into our room for some unknown reason. She is crying and screaming in her bed because she wants DH to go lay with her. Ain’t happening. Luckily S seems to be ignoring her or something because she’s laying down quietly. I’m sick of my 4 year old coming into my bed 90% of nights. I can’t lock her in her room because she wakes up to go potty sometimes. I need to get a gate or something I can put up in the hall, at least that way she can’t get to the rest of the house. I’m not in the mood for this, clearly.
