Hi all, just popping in. DH has a friend in town for the week who is joining us for dinner--which is fine, except that my house looks like Hallmark and Toys R Us both exploded. I did get groceries, though, and am about to put the meat into marinade. C is napping and B is busy with his train table. guster thinking of you and Charlie today, I hope the neurologist appt. goes well. kim22 Exciting!! Also, I raked leaves when I was pregnant with both kids...no luck :/ inthekitty You are amazing and I want to TP your FIL and tell your H to get to work. How does your H rationalize getting nothing done during the day?? As a SAHM I just don't get that...I mean, isn't that kind of one of the reasons/perks of having one parent at home? You work a demanding job and shouldn't have to come home and put in another full day's work. My H still does a ton, but I want his time off at night to be able to be spent with the kids, not doing laundry or housework I didn't do. Sorry to rant, that is just my opinion. Again, let me reiterate that I think you're awesome, but it's just not fair that it all falls to you.

C fell asleep on the couch the minute L woke up, of course. Now I'm trying to keep her quiet upstairs, maybe I'll take her in the basement and see if she'll play while I workout.

I've never been so pissed at a bank before in my life. Went to pay off our car and ended up calling corporate and filing a complaint against the manager before I even left their parking lot. I hope she gets fired. Or at least written up.

melaniesue glad the interview went well. T's ears are finally clear. My best friend is a labor and delivery nurse where I'm delivering and missed all 3 of my other births. She's off the day of my CS but got approval from the hospital to be there. I'm so happy. I told her I wasn't going to stop having babies until she was there for one.

I've never been so pissed at a bank before in my life. Went to pay off our car and ended up calling corporate and filing a complaint against the manager before I even left their parking lot. I hope she gets fired. Or at least written up. Why? This will be long. The loan is in A's name. So he called this morning and got the payoff amount and added my name and social security number (so they could verify who I am) to the notes with instructions to give me a $0 owed receipt. The person on the phone said it would be no problem. So I go into the branch and the manager is apparently the only person that can take my payoff and she has just gone into an hour long meeting and doesn't want to be interrupted. So I told him I would leave the check and my number so she can call me to send me the receipt. He says he won't hold the check, that it can't just be "laying around" well no shit. Thats why you have a vault. He hands me back my check and said he can only process it as a regular payment. I told him that wasn't good enough and to get his manager. He said she doesn't want interrupted and I told him that it is unreasonable for her to be in the building and unreachable and I wasn't leaving his window until he went and got her. Mind you, he had gone into her office 2 times to ask her the payoff procedures and there were people lining up behind me. Poor kid was new and I'm sure I scared him. But she obviously wasn't new and should have come out herself to deal with me. So she finally comes out and tells me she can't give me any information or a payoff since it wasn't my loan. I go through the whole thing A did this morning and she said it's not possible because it takes 3 days to be added to a loan. We went round and round for 10 minutes and she says fine I'll take it. So she does it as a REGULAR PAYMENT! I lost it. I yelled "thanks for nothing" as I left. I called another branch from my car and asked them their procedure for a auto payoff and then explained what A did and asked what they would do in that situation. What they told me was completely opposite what this woman did and he actually agreed to send me the payoff receipt over night to the address on the loan since the bank doesn't allow email correspondence. Which is bull shit, it's 2017 and you don't email?! After I hung up with him I called corporate and filed a complaint against her, she was yelling at me before I got upset and yelled back and she slammed her fists on the counter at me. It was something. About 10 minutes after I hung up, the guy that helped me, called me back to tell me he just got back from UPS and had over nighted A what we needed. So I called back to file a good report about him. I work at a bank. I know you can't give information to just anyone. But if a customer calls and says my wife is coming in with a payoff, give her a receipt. You do it! It wasn't like 3 grand I was paying. It was a good amount of money. I wasn't asking for information. I just wanted something that says you owe $0.

Obviously I realize this isn't a firable offense. But the other branch I talked to said he would have called the customer service line and spoke to who A spoke to, verified what he said and then did what I needed. She did nothing. Then said she would, and lied and processed it the way I told her not to.

Cadence starts transitioning into the prek class the week of the 18th. Sadly, her friends in the prek class will be transitioning up to the APK class then as well. She's going to be so disappointed, but at least those 2 classes join together at the end of the day, so she'll still see her friends for a bit longer.

guster - It may or may not be relevant, but I don't think I ever mentioned that my Mom had a baby in her day care whose skull fused somewhere between 6 and 8 months of age. He was about 9 months old when he had the procedure and although it was scary at the time and he ended up with one hell of a temporary hairline, he did great. Quick recovery, no complications, and a completely normal childhood. And this was a good 25+ years ago. Of course, I'm hoping that this means nothing to you after your appointment!

inthekitty reading everything you do, how much you work, all the school work, etc is overwhelming to me, I don't know how you keep up! You're an amazing mom, wife and friend! I hope you get some relief soon. I understand the husband who doesn't pull his weight, although mine isn't currently working for different reasons. He needs to get back to work or we will end up divorced, so you are a much better, stronger woman than I am. melaniesue I hope you hear something back quickly! How long are they conducting interviews?

I’ve had an afternoon already. S fell asleep at the table during lunch (I was washing dishes and working on getting food into the crock pot so I didn’t notice right away). Put her in her crib to nap (which I knew would be short since I had to take H to preschool) and then continued with what I was going. I realized I was missing 2 ingredients for my chili. I woke S up to bring H to school, then we had to drive to my sister’s house to pick up the laundry I forgot in her dryer last night. Luckily S fell asleep and slept the whole time we were in the car. Then we ran to the grocery store and got the things I needed. After we got home I needed to go to the bathroom, and of course S followed me in there. I had to change her diaper anyway so I decided to take it off and her pants and see what would happen. She sat on the little potty for about 2 seconds and then went over near the door. Then she started peeing. The poor girl was so confused. She kept looking at the floor, then her crotch and then back at the floor. I cleaned it all up and diapered her. Now I’m sitting for a minute before I have to leave to get H. I need a nap.

That is so unacceptable inthekitty. What does he do all day? M is at school all day so he doesn’t even have 2 kids to watch. He better step it up. After he goes back to work would it be possible for you to cut back to part time at your FT job? Do you have to stay in guards until the girls go to college or is there a point you can stop and they still get the money?

inthekitty grr that makes me angry. It sounds like your FIL is thinking like your h is single and not a parent with a family. Is that money he referenced enough to pay for retirement? College outside of GI bill, etc? Our house is a legit disaster 95% of the time, but that's bc we are both working full time jobs and powering through. If mh were home all day full time, I'd expect some things done...just as if I were home I would make sure some things were done (groceries, laundry, etc.) And if he were home while kids are in school eating bons bons, when he could be working and earning extra money so we could go on vacations, I'd struggle to be happy in that scenario. Blerg, hope things improve.

guster, I hope the appointment went well! melaniesue I'm glad you fell so good about your interview! Fingers crossed! inthekitty, you really are a rock star! I was exhausted reading everything that you have going on. I know that it will be hard, but please find some time to take a breather by yourself, even if it's 15 minutes. Your H really needs to start helping more, you shouldn't have to fulfill both the homemaker and working roles if he is home during the day. I know kids underfoot makes it tougher, but come on! Tim works just as many hours as I do, but he has Fridays off. He usually keeps Layla at home with him AND vacuums/cleans floors, does half of the laundry, and cleans the kitchen. I do the rest of the laundry, dust, bathrooms and cook throughout the week. If Tim didn't do his part on Fridays, I would spend all of my "family time" cleaning, which just isn't right. Does your H need a cleaning schedule to follow? I know this may sound like a cop out, but is it possible that he doesn't know what needs to be done? Or is he possibly overwhelmed with it all that it is easier to just do nothing? Could you hire a cleaning company to get you guys a fresh start and then he can follow a schedule to maintain?

I saw Layla's main daycare lean in the main office today, on another part of post. His absence in the classroom had been explained as he is "taking care of some things" when sounded like personal leave to me. When I saw him today, he said that he was helping the main office out. Here's the thing... I have worked in a DC on a military installation, when people get in "trouble" at the DC they move them to the main office till an investigation is complete. I'm kinda spiraling wondering what happened, since there is no way they would take a caregiver out of a classroom to push papers around if it wasn't a serious situation.

And there's no way they'd give you more info until the investigation was complete, right?
