So the 3-6mo and 6-12mo check ins have been missing for months. Is there anyone interested in reviving them?
I’ve already expanded the Newborn Check In to include the 1-3mo. Is a 3-12mo feasible or too broad a range?
Would a monthly thread be better than a weekly?
Of course everyone is welcome to make a specific thread for any question/concern/situation, but as there’s no pinned post stating this, I sometimes worry people peek, don’t see a “place” for a question, and leave without posting.

I like this idea! DD3 will be 3 months on Wednesday and I feel like we grew out of the 0-3 mon check-in a few weeks ago.

I can go either way. He will be three months this month. Currently we are almost exclusively nursing. And I'm not really running into any problems or questions. So I'm not exactly sure what would be most beneficial or what we would need right now. If it's just a place to hang out, then it doesn't really matter if it's weekly or monthly. But many of us reach out to our BMB. O17 has a long thread going bouncing ideas off of each other. But I will say, having everything separated into age groups makes it a little bit tricky. Because if were segregated by age groups, the older people might not necessarily check the younger age groups. There may be information that the they now that would help the younger babies. But because they don't check because it's not their age group, it may run into them not being able to help each other

ssm there have been a few missing BMBs since we made the move to this forum, which is probably how most of the check ins fell away. When a BMB has a chatty group of breastfeeding people, I can see how the BF board check in isn’t as necessary, but if most everybody weans at 6mo and there’s only a couple left, they usually find their way back here just for the community - which has historically been in the age specific check in. And the age groups get bigger as baby gets older, as the changes/hurdles get further apart. And, honestly, as fewer people are still breastfeeding. (0-4 weeks, 1-3mo, 3-6mo, 6-12mo, 12+) The people motivated to help out poke around the younger check ins & chime in; those who aren’t, don’t. But on the flip side there used to be several experienced people popping by the Newborn check in, and they don’t anymore. Tl;dr- this board is here to support those who need it, but that only comes when there’s traffic, and there’s very little traffic (as far as I can tell) in the 3-12mo range. I don’t know if it’s because they’re not on this forum, not needing community, or silent because there’s no obvious place to talk.

I don’t think I would want to run another weekly check in. This pregnancy is kicking my tail, and I can hardly keep up with the newborn thread. But if no one else wants to spearhead the monthly thread, I could likely do that.
I can share some questions I have saved from other check ins - or y’all can suggest prompts. Or should it just be open ended? 3-12mo Check In, how’s it going? December breastfeeding randoms? Maybe just include the whole board? Idk.

I was doing one of those check-ins but I was basically talking to myself. *shrug* I would participate in a thread if one was active.

I don’t think I communicated well enough that in addition to meeting the needs of the 3-6mo group, we’re also missing their wisdom & experiences. There’s an active 12mo+ group, but when your youngest nursling is 3 years old, it’s kinda hard to remember what it was like to nurse through the 4mo sleep regression - but at 8mo you may remember it all too clearly.

I would be interested! Though atm lack time to even keep up with my bmb let alone other boards which is why I hardly post here. While i actually would love to post and read and share and get support a bfing remains a struggle. I get what you mean about it not just being interest/ tine to check in but also needing the knowledge from other mums. It seems rather quiet and small here - would one board wide check in with separate prompts per age bracket perhaps work? There aren't so many people that it would be an endless check in and that way it may be easier to share knowledge and experience? Just a thought - apologies if this had been tried or suggested before and didnt work or such.

I really like the weekly check ins and I’m open to posting one each week. Sometimes I struggle to be as active on here as I’d like to be but I can make sure to get it at least posted each week. It seems like there wasn’t a consensus on how to break it down. I prefer 3-6 month and 6-12 month but would be fine with a 3-12 month if that’s what works best.
