adeline, I signed consent papers to try a VBAC. O was a fast labor but was face up and rather stuck. If he hadn't been face up I would have had about 4 hours of labor. But he was face up and hadn't totally dropped. I pushed for only 2 hours and made almost no progress. He was also 9lbs1oz so rather big and stuck. So I went (sobbing & puking) for an emergency c-section. I didn't get to hold him until he was almost 2 hours old because I had lost a good amount of blood and they had issues getting my body to calm the eff down. Not exactly the birth experience for which I'd been hoping. My OB basically said they'll let me try *unless* I have another big baby. He gave me some straight forward statistics at my first appointment; natural labor 1% chance of uterine rupture, induced labor 5-7% chance, another big baby there's a 50% chance. This baby was measuring 5 days ahead at my NT scan which is when O started to show that he was ginormous. So, I'm planning to try a VBAC but am starting to resign myself to a RCS. My SIL had 4 c-sections; 2 emergency and 2 RCS. She has told me time and time again how much easier it is with a RCS as have all of my friends that have had them.

I'm not a big bag of fun to be around lately. My DH was gone for 7 weeks, and has been home for 2.5. He has to leave again this week and will be gone until February. I had scheduled my anatomy scan for 19 weeks so he could actually be there, but now he will miss it. I'm used to it, but it's just hard to do everything. Working full time, having a toddler, being pregnant. I'm exhausted. *Creepy internet hugs* I'm sorry. Is he going to be able to schedule being home more after this assignment?

He is a driller in the oilfield and is supposed to be gone for a month and home for a month, but it never quite works out that way. I just hope he is home when the babe is born.

Currently at my appointment. Had the ultrasound, everything looks great. Still waiting to see the nurse and doctor. So glad it's just this first appointment that takes for freaking ever. DS is at my dad's, so he can always give him dinner if I need to work really late. I'm so over waiting, I was early and they saw me late. Hoping to get back to the nurse soon.

We finally gave in and told DD last night. She was telling DH at dinner that the doctor listened to mommy’s tummy. So I told him that was our moment, before we fly home for the holidays next week and our families start in on “you’re going to be a big sister, eeeee!!!1!1!!” with her. She got a big smile, and then moved on to talking about Daniel Tiger, haha. She FaceTimed with my mom at lunch today and told her that there was a baby in mommy’s tummy though so that was cute.

Thanks all. It helps to reinforce I’m just on this path and it is the best decision for me. DD was 6 pounds as well so clearly I’m just not built to have an easy natural birth but the big consolation is that I’m built to make freekin cute kids. I’ll take it.

apk4, I'm so sorry. That really sounds rough. I hope his schedule lets him be home in plenty of time for the birth.

My scan went well today. The heartbeat was 122. The technician had to jiggle my stomach to get the baby to move. I guess they were resting. The doctor said that based on the measurements taken, everything looks normal so far. My next ultrasound is at the end of January. I also got my blood drawn for the NIPT test. DH, DD and I are all hoping for a boy. So......my prediction it will be a girl. I just want a boy because I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our boys name. And I have a feeling this will be the last chance to use it

This exhaustion is kicking my ASS the past week or so. It doesn't help that I've been having weird super realistic dreams that make me feel like I'm not resting at all. Just woke up from a nap, again, and I wouldn't have woken up at all except my dog was kicking me in the head. Hoping to get some good sleep tonight *fingers crossed*

hi everybody! I've been MIA for awhile. I've been so busy and tired, it's been hard to check in. My assistant is back from her maternity leave so things should calm done. I want to take a few days off to recoup but I also don't want to waste days off before my maternity leave.

Guys, unisom is awesome. I have slept so well the last week. And whenever I do wake up to pee I go right back to sleep.

I love my girl name, and H and I agree on zero boys names (we named V in the hospital at the last minute because we didn’t have a front runner until then). Glad the scan went well!

budders, And the great thing is DH, myself and DD are all on board with the name. I think that is a rarity.

So far the week is ok. My left hip gets sore at different times of the day. I hope it eases up once the baby starts growing up and things are growing. I had this the other times around now and I forgot it is a pain in the butt (literally).

I slept so lousy last night. No dreams but I kept waking up covered in sweat so I'd kick off some blankets and then the next thing I know I'm shivering. Stupid hormones and weird weather

Scheduled an elective US for 12/15 to find out baby’s sex. We are going to have them put it in a card and open it on Christmas. I’m not sure I’ll be able to wait 10 days!

DD was 6 pounds as well so clearly I’m just not built to have an easy natural birth but the big consolation is that I’m built to make freekin cute kids. I’ll take it. I did want a VBAC for my second because we want 4 kids and the medical community frowns upon that many c-sections. But #2 was breech too. It ended up for the best anyway because I had a uterine window and the doc said I would have been in that 1% that ruptured. D: I've had two RCS and really it was not bad at all. I decided the birth date for my second (within reason), and I have even been able to choose the music the babies were born to (Nutcracker for my Christmas baby and Swan lake for my Spring one). Surgery is never fun, but honestly it's not bad. For me the recovery has been easy both times and I've been off pain killers by the time I get home. It never delays my milk coming in either. So while I don't think people should elect to do it over labor just because, I've personally been content with the hand I've been dealt.

lemons, man I'm jealous that you're doing an elective ultrasound. H told me no and we could wait until after Christmas. I mean we're going Dec 28 so it's still soon but I really wanted to tell our families on Christmas day. @sammichchat, the music teacher in me really appreciates that you stuck with the same composer (Tchaikovsky) for both of your RCS. Sleeping Beauty is also beautiful music. LMK if you need any musical advice this time :-)

I am so impatient for my Harmony results. Really hope they come in this week! I want to start name discussions with DH soon, because I fear that will be a long process. He's been doing a free trial on Ancestry and has found some female relatives who have names that I like, so if it's a girl maybe I can pitch them that way ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

My DH is refusing to talk names at all until after the holidays since he knows family will ask us if we've discussed it and I'm a terrible liar. (We like to keep IRL name talk and decisions to ourselves until after the baby is born.) So instead I've been making a list of all the names I love and staring at it. I think DH will hate 99% of them though because that's what happened last time too. We were still deciding her middle name after she was born.
