We have a wooden cradle that my dad had made for me and my sisters. We have it in our room. G slept in it until he slept through the night (2.5 months - please don’t hate me) and then we moved him into the crib in his room. We plan on doing the same for this baby - unless it has other ideas.

DS slept in the PNP bassinet (the elevated mattress part) for 6 months in our room and then moved to his crib. That’s the plan for this one too so hopefully he is agreeable. DS still sleeps in his crib. He will be almost 3 when #2 is born. He sleeps really well and I’m thinking of buying another crib so I don’t have to move him.

To anyone: What were your reasons for moving to the crib or out of your room? And were you still nursing at that point? Um. It just felt right? I don't know actually. My first was FF so it just seemed like a good time to get him in his crib... My second - we co-slept/bed shared. He nursed ALL NIGHT LONG and that just worked for us. I did still move him to his crib for the first feeding (so nursed him asleep, he slept on his side, with bumpers, it's amazing he survived lol - but seriously after that he was in bed with me). My third - she HATED being in bed with me. I was all set to do what I did with my second, but newp. She hated the co-sleeper - we actually had it set up in the room with us to use to hold diapers and stuff (haha), and loved the RNP. She had reflux though. Again, the transition just felt right - go back to to work, put her in the crib so I could get things ready for the next day, and by the time she woke up, I was headed to bed so back into the RNP she went. Although, she did outgrow that at 4m bc she was rolling.. so we spent 2m fighting in bed before she transitioned fully to her crib at 6m. We were still nursing, but my supply had significantly dipped when my cycle returned - so she was nursed before bed, and nursed MOTN, for her one wake up (at 6m she was a magic baby...) or given a bottle. Whatever was needed. (way long, but it's been different with each kid!).

The plan is for baby to be in the pnp with us until he wakes on a regular schedule and hopefully not more than twice a night. He will nap in the crib in their shared room though so dd3 gets use to his noises and he is use to the crib. I will do whatever works thought dd2 and I spend many a night in the couch. Dd1 was in her crib from the get go and did awesome. She was a miracle sleeper and woke at 1 and 4 like clockwork until we cut her off the boob and then she just slept.

I bought an ingenuity large bassinet this time. Last time we used a normal sized bassinet in our room for theee months then moved the crib into our room. But we had to disassemble it and reassemble it and repeat when we moved him into his room. DNW to do again so large bassinet that this one can sleep in for around 6 months then move into the crib.
DS1 loves the crib and is still in there at 2.5 years old but we are going to try transition him into a bed before this baby comes.

DD1 slept in a PNP in our room until 6 months old, then moved to a crib in her own room. She was also my magic trick baby, she was sleeping through the night at 3 months. And not even tv at night or noisy DH getting ready in the morning would wake her.
DD2 was payback. We tried the PNP, swing, RNP, and then just had to put her in a crib in her own room at 6 weeks because when she did finally decide to sleep if you so much as breathed hard she’d wake up crying. She didn’t sleep through the night until 10 months 😫
This baby we’re just prepared to roll with whatever comes our way. Plan is to do the PNP in our room for as long as that works.

Oh and DD2 will be moving into DD1s room in January (holy crap that’s going to be crazy) so they can get settled in before baby comes, baby will take over DD2’s current room.
