Did we talk about this on the other site? I think there's some info in my brain but I'm not sure where I got it from.
Can someone tell me about bassinets? DD1 slept in her crib from the very beginning but because DD2 will be sharing a room with DD1, we will have DD2 in our room in a bassinet in the beginning until I have a grasp on her sleep schedule at least.
For some reason a bassinet with solid sides freaks me out - is mesh better? What do you think?

We have a Co sleeper with mesh sides. I liked it because I can spy on the baby without getting completely out of bed. #lazy Something like this:

Newborns cant even really move their heads so as long as you put them to sleep away from the sides you're good to go. Then again DD slept in a cardboard box for the first 5 months...so.

We have a rock and play that baby will sleep in in our room with us for the first few months. It has mesh sides, but solid sides of a bassinet should be fine.

I have this... This is a pic I found off Google. It matches the decor in our room so I love the look but it isn't very effective. I don't know it of we will reuse it or get something else yet like the rock n play. Ds3 did great in it. He liked to sleep flat.

We used a pack and play that had a bassinet for DS. Loved it because we didn't have to buy something temporary- when he transitioned to the crib, we just used it as a pack and play. Also, it was great that he was used to sleeping flat- no horrible transition to the crib.

My kids both slept in a cradle that my grandpa built. All the great grand kids have slept in it. It's smaller so they really only last till maybe 2-3 months. I wanna say my daughter actually went to her crib Around 3 weeks anyways because she was such a noisy sleeper.

We have the Guava Family Lotus travel crib and are going to buy the bassinet conversion kit and use that. I'm stoked about this actually.

Now that I think about it, I could just bring her crib into my room (it's a mini crib and we have a big room) so maybe a bassinet isn't necessary

I got a cheap bassinet from Amazon and I am glad because she only used it for like 1 month.

peggels24, I was nervous about solid sides too. snuff9861 is right, newborns don't move that much. But, I had something similar to this that made me feel less nervous. Sorry if the pic is huge. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We used a PNP with bassinet insert for DS. I liked it because I could keep all of our late night stuff in the larger part of the PNP. The bassinet flips over to also be a changing table. Guess who never used it and realized while taking it apart that her kid had been sleeping on the changing side for the last 3 months? Edit: Similar to this one- m.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=87985076

I really want to get a halo bassinet but I can't really justify the cost unless I find a used one. I will probably end up using the pnp

We have one like this and it was my absolute favorite. And you just made me realize we don't need a separate bassinet so thank you!!
Actually though it might be nice not to have to move the pack and play from the living room. I am lazy. Hmm.

But I do remember the only difference was that the changing side was a plastic material so it was easier to clean, right? Easy mistake to make.

We'll do the same again, pnp with attachments in our front room, rnp upstairs. Lazzzzyyyyy.

We have one like this. I liked that it has wheels. If I set DS down in it while I was putzing around in the kitchen and he fell asleep, I could just wheel him into the bedroom.

We have this- it's on wheels and we loved it for DD2. Honestly, usually if she was sleeping, she was on me, even at night. (I know this is a huge no no) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We have a bassinet that we used some. However, dd ended up sleeping in the rock n play right next to our bed until around the six month mark. Is this frowned upon nowadays? I'm not sure.

I have a friend whose baby has really bad reflux, the angle of the RNP helps her. She's slept in it for almost all of her 3 month life.
