For the purposes of this check-in, we will define extended breastfeeding as breastfeeding beyond 1 year. Questions are repeated and suggestions are appreciated! 1. How old is your LO? 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3. Do you still nurse on demand, or have you taken steps to actively drop nursing sessions? 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? Tandem Nursing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any current challenges? Questions for other moms? Non-BFing question of the week: When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with?

1. How old is your LO? - 2.25yr
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? - 4-6x
3. Do you still nurse on demand, or have you taken steps to actively drop nursing sessions? - demand
4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? - just under 6mo. We did BLW and he loved it. Still loves solids today. He's obsessed with oatmeal right now.

1. How old is your LO? 18.5 months 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? just before bed (and before nap on weekends) and then some MOTN. 3. Do you still nurse on demand, or have you taken steps to actively drop nursing sessions? NOD. 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? She was 4 months when we started letting her taste things (purees). She REALLY introduced them at 11 months. She took to them splendidly. She eats really well most days. She has that typical toddler mind-changing thing going on though haha.

1. How old is your LO? 22 months 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3-4 3. Do you still nurse on demand, or have you taken steps to actively drop nursing sessions? DS2 used to nurse when he woke up and then again before i left for work, but i've been trying to consolidate those 2 into 1 session, so he just nurses before i leave for work. 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? we did BLW at about 6 months. he liked solids but maybe wasn't quite as enthusiastic as DS1 was. he's gotten pickier over the past few months. he loves pizza, pasta, yogurt, cheerios, raisins, and chocolate and is blah about everything else, pretty much.
Non-BFing question of the week: When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with? IRL- computers, cooking/food, and where can i buy X item.

1. How old is your LO? 23 months 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? Just once, before bed 3. Do you still nurse on demand, or have you taken steps to actively drop nursing sessions? On Demand 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? 6 months and he took to them immediately. Now he is a typical toddler. Some days I worry he will eat me out of house and home, other days he barely eats a bite.
Non-BFing question of the week: When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with? Usually advice. Often about anxiety/depression, or when they need support.

Hi, can I play here? @kelltothekell from my BMB suggested this check in and I'm trying to branch out over here. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!
1. How old is your LO? 16 months 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 2-4 - wake up, before bed, and sometimes after work 3. Do you still nurse on demand, or have you taken steps to actively drop nursing sessions? I actively cut out pumping around 12 months, and so he switched from BM to WCM. Other than that it's pretty much on demand. 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? We started BLW around 7 months. He loved it and is a pretty good eater.
Non-BFing question of the week: When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with? Outside of work people usually ask me to help with planning events, trips, etc.

1. How old is your LO? 14.5m 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 4x - Wake, Nap, Bed, MOTN 3. Do you still nurse on demand, or have you taken steps to actively drop nursing sessions? Not on demand. I'm not a touchy person and can only handle a few sessions with a twisty, grabby toddler. 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? 8 months. I wanted to wait longer but my milk was no longer sustaining her alone. Non-BFing question of the week: When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with? Nutrition, gardening, or baby item advice

I haven't taken steps to drop anything.... well i've tried to cut back on nighttime nursing 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? around 6 months. We started with purees and went pretty slow with it. DD is a pretty good eater... when you give her things she likes! 1. How old is LO? 19mo
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? Too many to count
3. Do you still nurse on demand, or have you taken steps to actively drop nursing sessions? On demand, he shows no signs of weaning.
4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? He was 8mo before we started solids - I prefer they can sit up on their own and are showing interest, this kid didn't care. He is an awesome eater now, so I'm hoping he doesn't lose that.

1. How old is your LO? 16mos and 3 on Saturday 😭 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3x 3. Do you still nurse on demand, or have you taken steps to actively drop nursing sessions? We set up a routine that they nurse upon waking and before bed. 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? 6mos. They eat like crazy. They have a bit of a reputation at daycare for "tricking" the staff into giving them thirds.
Tandem Nursing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any current challenges? Questions for other moms? We're good!
Non-BFing question of the week: When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with? Home: where is the ____? Work: how do you ____?

I'm loving how busy this check-in is getting!
1. How old is your LO? 2y 9m
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? Twice
3. Do you still nurse on demand, or have you taken steps to actively drop nursing sessions? She is only allowed to nurse twice a day. After her sister was born, I tried to let her nurse on demand but my aversion has gotten really bad with the toddler so I had to set limits.
4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? 5 months and she loved them! She's not picky now but she definitely has days where she's interested in something and the next day she isn't.
Tandem Nursing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any current challenges? Questions for other moms? We're good.
Non-BFing question of the week: When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with? It's mostly breastfeeding at this point.

Hello ladies! It had been a little while since I checked in on this thread at the other place. I was geners over there.
1. How old is your LO? 18M today 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 2-3 (upon wake-up, before bed, and if I'm home, before naps. We night weaned a few weeks ago, woohoo!) 3. Do you still nurse on demand, or have you taken steps to actively drop nursing sessions? NOD other than the night feed we dropped. He's too busy to ask for it most of the time though :/ 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? 6 months, started slowly with purees. He was cautious at first. He's a pretty good eater now though, very adventurous!
Non-BFing question of the week: When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with? Accounting stuff (usually at tax time), and I get breastfeeding questions IRL sometimes

1. How old is your LO? 15 months 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3-4 3. Do you still nurse on demand, or have you taken steps to actively drop nursing sessions? Gently encouraged her to go from 6 down to 4. Not ready to be done but would love for it to be less! 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? BLW at 6 months she started really eating around 8 and good lord can this kid eat. She isn't really picky but any kind of meat is her favorite. I really don't understand how she eats so much.
I have a question, I am sure I'm over thinking this... we were told to wait on WCM/not push it aggressively, so we don't really do it, but I think we are gonna get cleared to start at 15 month check up (fingers crossed iron has improved) but we call nursing "milk" and if you say milk and then I don't take my shirt off LO has an absolute melt down... does anyone who does WCM or other milk have another word that they use for that to distinguish it? Last week we were in the grocery store and I said let's go get the milk (not thinking) and LO lost it and tried to climb out of the cart and down my shirt. Lol

Lol My children are exact opposites, so while there's no need to differentiate with my youngest, my oldest we used different names. WCM was milk, breastmilk was "mommy milk".

lol jewel! my kids call nursing "boobies" so cow's milk is just "milk." what about just calling it "cow milk"? if she knows cows and your milk has a picture of a cow on it, you could try to make the connection that way. or you could call it "cold milk" or "milk in a cup."

1. How old is your LO? Turned 2 5/10 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 2-3 3. Do you still nurse on demand, or have you taken steps to actively drop nursing sessions? Nurse on demand, will let him self wean 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? About 4 months we gave him a little mashed banana. I now recognize it was first time parents rushing things and being over excited. Would do differently if I could do over. Around 5.5 months, I had some issue with drop in supply, and under the care of my IBCLC we gave him ground turkey and avocados while I was building my supply back up. "People" come to me for help with things like changing their diaper or putting their shoes on.

jewel, we call WCM "milk" and for breastmilk we say "nurse." I like the idea of trying "cow's milk" with your LO. We offer milk as a snack, not as a replacement to nursing.

[quote author=1. How old is your LO? 21 months 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 2x day 3. Do you still nurse on demand, or have you taken steps to actively drop nursing sessions? I limit him to 2x day 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? Just under 6 months. He loved them. He eats like a champ at daycare. For me it is hit or miss Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? Mostly ok. My supply is crap I'm sure but he doesn't seem to care. He does go for the boob first thing and I hadn't eaten before. I got really nauseous.

1. How old. She turned 2 on June 1st 2. How often. It varies. We were down to once a day but this week she is back to 3-4. 3. I'm taking steps to drop sessions. I offer drinks or food when she asks to nurse. So far it works well that way and she is happy drinking out of a cup instead of nursing. She is most attached to nursing after she wakes from her afternoon nap and nursing at bedtime. 4. I think we introduced solids around 4 or 5 months? Questions other people ask me? I'm a SAHM so during the day I hang out with other SAHMs so the questions usually revolve around what our kids are doing now or parenting type questions.

1. 18 mo (16 adjusted) 2. Many 3. We are pretty much still on demand. I'll occasionally make him wait if it's not a particularly convenient time. I am definitely working toward night weaning though, because that's become pretty annoying. But it's so much easier to just pull a boob out and fall back asleep. I need DD to go spend a weekend with my mom so I can do it while she's not here to wake up. 4. Sixish months - he is just now ok with squishy foods (banana, avocado, sweet potatoes), but has been a champion meat eater from the get go. He LOVES eating and there is no sneaking snacks if he is in earshot.
I'm a librarian, so people come looking for information usually (at work or not). I'm pretty good at figuring out where to find things.

jewel - we don't actively push WCM. DD (3.5) gets some in her cereal and maybe once a day with a meal, if she asks for it. DS (1.5) only gets it at daycare, but he won't drink it, he just chews on the sippy. They both eat enough yogurt and cheese, so I'm not worried about calcium or calories.

For the purposes of this check-in, we will define extended breastfeeding as breastfeeding beyond 1 year. Questions are repeated and suggestions are appreciated! 1. How old is your LO? almost 21 months (19 adjusted) 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? only 1 3. Do you still nurse on demand, or have you taken steps to actively drop nursing sessions? I nurse on demand. I let her tell me her needs. The only time I dropped nursing sessions was motn. 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? 6 months we started on solids. Girlfriend loves solids. Non-BFing question of the week: When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with? I'm a counselor by profession so you name it. However, I'm also in recovery so outside of work people usually contact me for addiction/recovery support.
