DD is 26 months. She was born 2 months early and spent the first 3 weeks of life in the NICU. Our breastfeeding relationship has been intense and she and I worked really really hard to make it work. I love nursing her. Love the connection we have. She loves it too. That being said, for the past 2 days, she has not asked to nurse. At all. Normally as soon as she wakes up she asks and sometimes after daycare she asks. She hasn't mentioned it at all. I'm assuming she is starting to self wean. Is it possible she's just taking a break? I'm not ready for this. HOLD ME

is she not feeling well?
it could just be a random blip. DS1 did this-- my situation was a little different bc i was pregnant with DS2-- but when my supply was low in 2nd trimester he would sometimes go 2 days without asking to nurse. but he never self-weaned.
how many times per day was she nursing before? if she was nursing at least 2x per day, i might offer 1x a day just so that you don't risk blocked ducts or discomfort.

An occasional after daycare session but typically just 1 x per day.

well, sounds like it could go either way- a temporary thing or working towards weaning. you've done a great job nursing for 2+ years! you will find a new normal after BFing, i promise. i think it makes you relate to your LO in new ways without having BFing to fall back on. and they will still want to cuddle. my DS1 is in K and always desperate for hugs.

I felt around and it appears we are starting with the 2 year molars. So that could be playing into it. She asked for boobies this morning.
