When Tim is at work he refers to me as his "old lady." I know it's a man thing, especially blue collar, but it would never fly with me in person. He calls me Sweetie and I call him Babe.
I hate the word "fixin" as in "I'm fixin to go eat lunch."

Noon-3. I'm thinking sloppy joes that I can make ahead of time with crock pot mac and cheese. Chips, veggie tray, and fruit? I feel like I always do the same food every party, but I want things I can make and not worry about during the party. That sounds good! Other ideas could be pulled pork with coleslaw or lasagna with cesar salad and garlic bread. Oooh I like the lasagna idea too! I had thought of that a while back but forgot about it. That would be tasty. I’ll run it my Dh

peachsmama I'm surprised you never heard jalopy living on a farm. I thought even the fanciest of farms had at least one jalopy somewhere.

The body shop called to say someone is out sick and they can't fix my car this week. It's been there since Sunday. They better get to it before this baby comes because my current family of 5 already does not fit in our other car.

xolastunicornxo and guster I love The Mistletones. I think Maddie would love that one too. I watched the stranger kiss in the elevator last year while wrapping gifts. Is that also the one where the kissee is like a personal assistant to dream boat and he has a bitchy fiancé or something to that effect?

Adult twin sisters switch places, one high powered career woman, the other small town Mom and both find love and the meaning of Christmas. A+. But my all time favorite Christmas movie of all time is Christmas with the Kranks.

"To die for" irks me too. I've also never liked "dh/ds/dd," but perhaps even more offensive than that I am guilty of calling my husband "hon" way more than I've called him by his name. I try not to do it in public, but it happens. My brother and husband have the same name and sometimes I call my husband "old man LN" when at my parents to avoid confusion. He's much older than me and sometimes so crotchety and he knows it so it's fitting. I’ll sit on your bench, I call my husband babe. I went through a phase in college where I called everyone babe and it’s just stuck. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ I call A sweets or love.

The second one it's the assistant to the boss's brother that does the kissing (with the brother) And the third one it's the caterer and the choreographers fiancé.

I hate it when people use the word ‘literally’ with things that are clearly not literally. Same thing for (air) quotes. Just catching up but I hope no one else had posted this yet...

I like the one where the chick is supposed to travel with the bf, but instead his assistant or best friend comes and Santa gets them stranded in a small town and she falls in love with the assistant/best friend.

I dislike when people say 'I can't imagine' in the context of giving support in terrible situations. Like, a situation is so bad that you (general you) 'can't imagine it', yet it is someone's reality at the time. It takes away sincerity of the support IMO. ::Puts on flame suit:: I try not to say “I can’t” I usually word it as “I can only imagine what you’re going through/how you’re feeling etc. but let me know what I can do to help or I’m always here if you need me”. I’m not sure if that’s any better but I know when dealing with my brother and IF it’s something Id prefer to hear rather then someone saying they understand when they have no idea. If that makes sense?

Ok. I need to weigh in here:
I say “naughty” instead of saying “bad” to the kids. MH doesn’t like if i say they are being bad.
I use dh, dd, etc sometimes because i just thought that was the online etiquette. I learned all the abbreviations from the Bump and didn’t even know what they stood for at first. In my head i always read it as “da husband,” kinda like “da bears.” Lol.
Do not like hubby, hubs, baby, or babe. Sorry guys. I call mh “boo” once in a while but we used to say it a lot when we first started dating.
My friend says “not for nothing” and it bugs me because the double negative is confusing. Does that mean it’s for something?
Also, i never heard of “jalopy.”

Also, i still can’t find the messed up bulb on my Christmas tree and it’s ruining my enjoyment of having a tree. I can’t stand that there is a dark spot.

We try to use "not making good choices" rather than using bad or naughty.

I own it, because I watch it a million times over Christmas! But if you’ve never seen it everyone should watch it tonight! I don’t know what it is, but it always puts me so much in the Christmas spirit. Elf comes in a close second. And then all three Santa Claus movies.

We try to use "not making good choices" rather than using bad or naughty. Same We don't say bad either. We talk about the action and what better choices are out there.

When I first joined the bump and didn't know the abbreviations, I already read DH as Designated Hitter, which for the situation.
I refer to H as just H here. At home he's either Todd, babe, out asshole, depending on my mood and how much I've had to drink.
